Insunya woke us up early in the morning and got us back to district five. There we took a short walk back to the school.
"You guys rest a little, we'll train later in the day," Insunya told us as he dismissed us.
I saw Soliel as I walked into my dorm. He was about to go for his morning jog.
He waved hello and left.
The room wasn't as big, but it was satisfactory. Everyone had a refrigerator and a microwave in their room. And the bed was pretty comfortable too.
"big tournament huh," I say to myself. "Well, better make sure I'm prepared for it,"
I took out my notebook which I had been writing down the different kinds of releases I plan to learn.
"The Shinrai style is soooo hard," I groan.
But I knew that if I wanted to be a strong and capable Sentinel, the Shinrai style is a must for me to master, in every kind.
"I wanna be cool like Insunya," I bury my head into the soft pillow. The pillow makes me feel like my face is melting into it.
"soooo softtttt," I keep squishing my head into it.
Insunya huh? He used Shinrai style to make that water dragon release, maybe he'll have some tips for me.
I yawned. I should get some sleep since I slept kinda late. Jane kept me up all night, talking...of course.
I rested my head on the pillow.
The entire sector panicked as the sirens screeched. It was the first time I had heard such a noise, I didn't what to do.
"Reid," A girl's voice screams behind me.
"Gina?" The Lander behind her sliced her head off.
I screamed and ran. "Mom, Dad," I screamed out for my parents.
I stumble and fell on the bodies on the ground.
"Blood, blood, everywhere," I kept freaking out.
The giant lander stood in front of me and roared.
My body, it couldn't move. This is what fear truly is?
"Red," My mother rushed and picked me up. My father sliced the lander open into two, crushing its core.
"It's dangerous over here buddy," My father says.
"Bad dream," I kept saying to myself. "Very, very, bad dream."
I screamed. Seeing my friends dead, those people were smiling just a few minutes ago. And now, they're all gone, they won't ever smile again...they won't...ever...live again?
"What is this world," I screamed.
I hate it, I hate them, I hate all of it. Hate...
"Red, the little basement I told you about, go hide in there," My mother says to me calmy.
"What about you, come with me," I say, afraid of going alone.
"Your father got every single monster over there, It's okay. We'll protect the gate so the people inside will be safe, we'll be back into time, I promise."
I nod, then run straight to the bunker around my house.
"Orizambi art-summoning release," I heard a voice echo in my ears.
I heard a growl. The biggest monster I've seen yet. The power coming from it, I have no chance against it.
Mother said father cleared all of them, there's no way he could've missed that.
The lander crushes the entrance to the bunker into a bit. My body instinctively runs to the gate, where my parents were. I keep looking behind me, trying to outpace the Lander.
I splurge of blood echoes in my ears. A lander about the size of the one behind me slices their heads off.
I stand in shock. My body won't process this. I refuse, I refuse. I need to move. I don't want to die here.
But I'm going to die. They killed everyone. They're all dead.
I'm no different from the rest of them.
But still, I'm too scared to die, so I will run from death, that's the only thing I'm good at.
The Lander swings it metallic sharp hands, I manage to dodge but it leaves a small cut on my forehead.
"Starfall, come to me," I say.
What did I just say? The hell is Starfall.
I then noticed the two katanas in my hands.
"What is this," I scream.
"Get the kid," A man screams.
A group of men jumps in and blocks the Lander.
"No, let me...fig,"
The world goes dark.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The sun screeches my eyes as I wake up.
"That dream again huh?" I whisper to myself.
More like a memory.
"Meeting at training sector 3 in 15," Insunya says in the group chat.
I yawn and get up.
"Orizambi art-summoning release," The words echoed in my ears.
Did I imagine that? Or did I actually hear it?
I didn't see any ordels or person around.
I scratch my head. Probably just imagined it.
I head toward sector 3 after I few minutes. The sectors are the training areas in the school, and sector 3 was near a small lake.
"Hey there Reid," Insunya says, trying to balance on a plank.
"Hi Insunya, and what are you doing?" I ask.
"Trying to balance on this plank," He says cheerfully.
"Cool, cool, the others aren't here yet I see," I say. "And um, can I ask you a question,"
He stops and looks at me. Stares straight in my eyes.
"You aren't hurt are you?" He asks.
"No, no," I shake my head. "I was wondering if you could help me out with the Shinrai style,"
Insunya gave a deep breath. "You sounded so hesitant. But of course, what do you want to know,"
"I've mastered changing from one element to the other, but lightning is the most difficult for me, do you know any tips to help me,"
"Well, I'm not a lightning bind user but the Shinrai style is about transforming from one element into the other by changing your orizambi nature in an instant, lightning is a very tricky element to master nevertheless change."
"There aren't any references to me to base it on,"
"You don't need any references then. You think the person who created the water dragon release had any references, no, but now they're in forever in history. Part of the role of being a Sentinel or an orizambi use, in general, is to explore what you can do and what you can't. Don't be satisfied with playing second fiddle, and how cool it be to see others use a release you created."
"you're saying I should create my own release with the Shinrai style?" I ask.
"You're a smart kid Reid, you can do it. And you can always ask me for help." Insunya smiled, then ran his hands through my hair.
"I like your hair, it's soft,"
"hey Insunya," Sukai said, walking along with Roman and Liz.
"Shouldn't you be with me?" I say to Roman.
"We found him punching the vending machine," Liz laughed.
"I didn't my drink and it also took my money," Roman said under his breath.
I laughed.
"You got bullied by a vending machine," Insunya laughed hysterically.
I looked around and I thought, "maybe this is the place I'm meant to be, I have friends, for real this time," I manage to give out a little smile.
But for real, Insunya's laugh is nasty.
