Sukai Lanera
The reek of urine from the gutters and latrines gathered with the aura of fear and despair. Water dripped, falling onto the broken cement floors.
Humidity and heat, the sound and smell of the waves and sea gave no hope to the miners, or slaves, any sign of freedom. The clank of the chains echoed throughout the prison cells, now used as a mining ground.
The girl was an orphan of the previous war. The guards rattled their nightstick on the iron cell bars, making the slaves scuff back in the corners.
"That's your new place little one," The guard said to the girl. Who had dirt and bruises all over her face. She had a stench all over her, suggesting she needed a bath. She had tried to fight off the guards, but she didn't have any luck. She was too weak for them.
The guard opened the cell for her, with drains of blood on the broken cement floor. The window was sealed off, which suggested that someone had tried to escape through it before.
"We feed you guys well, give you free time and everything, there's no need to be afraid of us. You stay in your lane and mine, we'll have no problem with you." The guard said.
The girl didn't move, she was hungry and scared. But she showed no emotion on her face, she had listened carefully to what the guard said.
"Damnit brat, I was trying to be nice to you," The guard screamed at her then shoved her onto the puddle of blood on the hardened cement floor. "Like I said," He closed the cell. "Listen to us, and you'll be fine,"
She could hear the echoes of the guard walking away.
The girl who had once hated the sight of blood sat in it all alone. She felt like she was some sort of criminal. All lock alone in solitary confinement.
Her body crumbled in the corner as she heard a little squeak. It was a rat running around, looking for food.
She pointed at the cell, suggesting, "you can leave, you're small enough to fit in,"
The rat came closer to her, opposing what she was suggesting. She was so hungry that she could barely breathe.
A thought crossed her mind, for a moment, she had considered eating the rat.
She gulped, then shook her head, saying no to herself. She was disgusted with herself, but she thought she was foolish.
"I'm being picky even on the brink of death," She thought. "Oh, well," She sighed.
She closed her eyes and fell asleep through the hunger once again, the sixth night.
"Rise and shine maggots," The guard rattled. "Time to eat and go to work, come on people,"
There were dozens of guards out there. Sukai heard the yawns the other slaves as they opened their cells.
"Rise n shine girl," A female guard opened the door. "Ew, what is that stench? You need a bath lil lady."
The guard then noticed the chains around her.
"Which lazy bum forgot to release you from ya chains eh?" She got down and freed Sukai from her chains.
"Must feel better eh, poor thang," She had an accent, which indicated she had roots from the south. "Come on girl," She helped Sukai up.
She lead Sukai to the showering room. She then gave her a clean towel and soap.
"Sponge?" She asked.
Sukai nodded.
"Here's a shampoo and conditioner, these are mine so don't tell no one I gave it to you alright, the other girls might get jealous," She winked at her.
Sukai nodded. "And wear this too alright," She laid a red gown on the sink. "Sorry if you hate red, but that was the only clean one left."
Sukai nodded, then got into the shower. The guard waiting outside, she felt bad for her, since he had trained in the village Sukai came from, New Michigan.
Sukai gave her the shampoo and conditioner back as soon as she finished.
"Now aren't you a pretty little thing," She smiled at her. "Gotta keep you all nice so you can find a pretty boy in the future,"
Sukai smiled awkwardly.
"let's go get you some food alright,"
Sukai nodded in total agreement.
"I'm Lyriel by the way," The guard said.
3 weeks later.
Sukai had dirt on her face, as she always did. She was getting used to mining a bit. They were mining for a crystal, which looked like a green amber in Sukai's eyes. The miners were required to hand back anything that seemed 'valuable,'. She hurried into Lyreil's office, she was the leader of the guards and the one in charge of the entire mine.
"Come in," Lyreil said as soon as she heard Sukai's footsteps.
"You called for me? Ma'am." Sukai said politely.
"Of course, close the door please," She dropped her pen.
Sukai did as she said.
"Come closer to me," She licked her lips.
Sukai felt a bit of fear, but she shrugged it off since Lyreil had been so nice to her.
"You are just so beautiful; I just can't wait for you to be all grown up you know," Lyreil pulled Sukai in an kissed her on the lips.
Sukai didn't know how to react.
"Touch me," She commanded.
"What.."
She grabbed Sukai's hand and put on her breasts.
"Grab as hard as you can," She said.
She moaned as Sukai did what she asked.
Sukai felt her fingers under her legs.
"Please," Sukai begged. "don't do this, please."
"don't be afraid, you'll feel great, I promise. Just think of it as a way you pay me for all the good things I do for you."
"you're very special indeed," She whispered into Sukai's ears.
6 Years Later
"boom," An explosion went off.
"Get into defense positions, no one will escape," Lyreil commanded.
"Oriambi Art- Crystal Glee"- Lyreil.
Crystals covered the mining area. Her crystals were harder than titanium.
"Liberation army, position C, break down everything and free the prisoners,"
"How the hell did he know about this?" Lyriel noticed the voice commanding. She knew she had no chance against general Rolen.
She retreated. "Damn it, at least the mines will be safe, even he can't break down my crystals,"
She ran back. "Cover me, get as many prisoners as you can, and kill them all, do not let them escape or else they'll find out."
"Yes ma'am"
"It's my chance to escape," Sukai knew. She ran through the blazing flames.
"general nooo" a sentinel from the liberation army screamed.
"Orizambi art- Piercing fla.."
Sukai's swords pierced through him. She had just killed someone.
"What have I done?" She screamed. "I was just trying to hurt.."
"Thank you, you save my life, and now the life of dozens too,"
"I killed him," Sukai mumbled.
"You protected me," The general said.
"Private, get this one, she's an orizambi user,"
"Yessir," The private carried Sukai.
"Don't worry, you're safe now," She comforted.
Sukai tried to catch up with her breath, kept nodding.
Her vision went blurry and closed her eyes, but she was still breathing.
