Katherine's P.O.V.
*****
-------
This morning, we went to town, because it was Sunday and it was our day-off today. Blake brought a saddlebag, Lonnie brought a white scarf, while I just brought a bunch of useful TM's for me to learn. A while later, me and Lonnie hit the bookstore while Blake ran off to the game store.
"Hey Kate." She says, picking a book from the romance section.
"Look."
Even though I'm not interested, I decided to take a look. The title read, 'Melting a Frozen Heart'.
"Hey..." Lonnie teased. "This book is about a Jolteon, especially, a Glaceon..." She said.
I frowned at her weird expression.
"Where d'you get that?!"
The Leafeon just laughed at my reaction. "Oh my Arceus! Kate! You're actually blushing! Kyaaahh! You look sooo cuuuute!"
"H-Huh?!" I gasped. My face felt like burning steel, and plus, it was red as a cheri berry!
"S-Stop it, Lonnie!" I muttered, covering my face with both paws. "Arceus...this is so embarrasing..."
Arceus! What the heck will they think about me when they see I was turning too red for an ice-type!
"Aww Kate, don't be such a killjoy, you looked so cuuute and you have to admit it!"
"W-Whatever." I answered in monotone. "I'll go check over there..."
"I'm gonna buy this book!" She called.
I ignored her and kept on walking.
"Oh my Arceus! The author that wrote this is actually the Jolteon named Dash in the story! I'm sooo going to buy this!"
I rolled my eyes. What's with the sudden blabbering? She must be like this when she gets excited too much...
I went on my way and went to the nearest bookshelf. Mystery/Thriller genre is my favorite, not like those love and romance nonsense like the grass fox reads.
(A/N:Okay Kate, romance is really not that bad you know. You'll find that out someday...)
I scanned the row of books on the shelves. I picked out one and read the title. It read 'The Case of the Missing Braixen'.
"Hmm... This sounds good..."
I held the book with my muzzle and walked to the counter. Uh... why do I have to be a quadrupped Pokemon? Can't I just be a Pokemon who can walk on two legs?
But, I guess none of that matters now. Besides, being an Eevee is actually fantastic, and until I evolved into a Glaceon. I turned to Lonnie; she was trying to balance a HUGE stack of books on her head!
"Lonnie!" I exclaimed.
She said nothing, and with that, she ended up face-planting on the ground!
"Uh... I'm okay!" She said. I laughed and helped the grass fox get up on her paws.
-------
"Here's your change,miss."
"Thank you..."
I put my book on Lonnie's saddlebag, since I didn't own another one. I just used it to store my equipment, that's all.
"So Kate, what are we going to do next?"
"Uh, we need to go to Blake in the game store..."
"The game store?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Nothing. I just hate video games, that's all."
"There." I said, pointing to a store named 'Kelvin Floatzel's Game Store'.
"Let's go."
We went inside and as I opened the door, a bell rang, and a cheery-looking Floatzel came and greeted us.
"Good Morning! What game should I get for you, Miss Glaceon?"
"Uh... I'm just looking for-"
"Freedom Fighters? Glam Ball? Super Mecha Warrior Z?"
"I-I said I'm-"
"Looking for the newest games we had in stock? Kingdom: Princesses and Princes?"
"I'm-"
"How about you try-"
"I'm looking for a Charmeleon!" I snapped, slightly infuriated about wasting our time and for not letting us explain.
Arceus, if I didn't do that for now, we might get stuck here all day, and even worse, forever! The terrible smile went back again to the Floatzel's muzzle.
"Oh. I see. He's in the RP section over there."
"Let's go Lonnie." I said. The Leafeon mouthed a small 'thank you' to the annoying Floatzel, which I automatically shook out from my thoughts.
"Hey."
Surprized, Blake turned around. "Oh, hey guys. I just found this awesome game, but it is just too expensive. Guess I'll take this other one, I guess..."
"Yeah, yeah. We're gonna wait for you at the town square. Is that alright?"
"Yeah, sure."
So, me and Lonnie set out. We sat at the
fountain's edge, watching the beautiful
streaks of water coming out from it.
"Kate?"
"Yes?"
"I...I just wanted to know.... what it's like having your parents around..."
"Why are you asking me that?"
"I..."
The Leafeon heaved a big sigh.
"I don't know. I just wanted to know, how it felt like when your parents... love you."
I stared at the grass fox, and saw her big, sad eyes.
My face fell, and stared at the ground. Damn her-those-those big sad eyes!
"Lonnie..." I whispered. "Being loved...it really feels so warm, and nice. My mom and dad, we used to hang-out in some special places, and share some jokes together...and..."
"And...?"
"And....they...they l-left me under the care of my a-aunt a long time ago...a-and never came back..."
"Oh...t-that-must have been terrible..."
"T-They m-must've left me with some k-kind of reason, but...they just won't..."
I stopped when I realized a tear fell out from my right eye.
I felt hot liquids sting both of my eyes, and I couldn't help but burst into tears.
"I-I'm s-sorry Kate..." Lonnie stuttered. "I-I shouldn't have asked..."
"I-It's- n-not your f-fault..." I cried, looking at her with sad blue eyes.
Lonnie gave me a comforting hug. She'll make a good sister. Now I knew what it felt to have one.
"Feeling better?" She asked with a warm smile. I nodded, and exchanged her smile. I'm going to tell her... I thought as I wiped away my tears.
"Lonnie...I..."
"Oy, watch it!"
"I-I'm so sorry, M-mister! I-I didn't mean-"
"Don't care! Just get 'outta my sight, little kit!"
I padded my way to the noise and saw
a crying Eevee and a large Garchomp.
"Hey Sir!" I yelled. "It's not his fault and you should leave him alone!"
"Stay out of this miss!" He yelled back.
"Are you his mother or somethin'? 'Cause I really need him out of my sight!"
I sighed and went to the little kit. He was trembling and crying from fear.
"Hey little one..." I whispered. The little Eevee looked up to me.
"M-Mommy?" He asked. Mommy?!
"Pardon?"
"Mommy?"
"Sorry, sweetie." Lonnie apologized. She finally caught up, and I noticed her presence. "She's not your mother."
"I don't get it..." He said. "I didn't know mommy and auntie had twin sisters..."
I held myself from bursting into laughter. Maybe he thought his mother and his aunt were the only Glaceon and Leafeon in the world.
"No, it's not that..." I said. "Anyway, I'm Katherine, Kate for short, and this is Lonnie."
"D-Diamond." He replied.
"Right, Diamond, now we know what your mom looks like, can you tell me what your dad is?"
"He's a Jolteon."
"Okay, Diamond." I said as gentle as I could muster. "We can help you find your parents."
"Really? You'll do that?"
"Of course. We're not kidnappers or anything..."
Diamond's eyes lit up and padded alongside us.

I headed out of the game store, beaming proudly at myself. Pokemon Conquest is finally mine!
"Now where to go.... Aha! Town square!"
I turned to go, and headed out.
"Hey, Roan!" I greeted. The Samurott turned to me and smiled.
"Sup, Blake. Your day-off, I suppose?"
"Yeah, you could say that..." I replied with a shrug. Just then, I saw a Glaceon and a Jolteon with their little Eevee-kit padding alongside them.
Based on their nervous movement and rapid-turning of their heads, they must have been looking for something.... or someone.
"Excuse me maam and sir..." I asked as I approached them. "Can I... help you or anything?"
The Jolteon gave a sigh. "Y-Yeah, of course. I'm looking for my son..."
"Sure, no problem sir. I've been living here for at least fifteen years, so maybe we could find him in no time!"
"Sounds a lot like you..." The Glaceon whispered to her mate. I smiled and extended my paw to the Jolteon for a pawshake.
"Anyway, the name's Blake."
The Jolteon smiled and shook my paw.
"Nice to meet you Blake. I'm Dash, and this is my mate, Bells-er...Bella. While this little one is Bambi..."
Hearing those words, the little Eevee hid behind her mother. She must be intimidated by my size.
"Hi." I greeted, and knelt down. "You're Bambi, right? I'm going to help you find your sis-"
"Brother." Bella corrected.
"Right... My mistake. I'm going to help you find your brother."
"R-Really?"
"Totally."
Bambi took a step closer and gave me a tackle-hug.
"T-Thank you Mister!"
Her parents smiled. I blushed and hoped they didn't see it.
"Uh... so Mrs. Bella-"
"Please, just call me Bella." She insisted.
"Hey... Looks like Bells is trying to be nice~" Dash teased.
Bella rolled her eyes and smiled.
"Nothing, I just find it quite embarassing to be called 'Mrs.' all the time..." She said. Dash laughed and kissed her cheek. "You'll get used to it." He chuckled.
"You're late."
I turned and saw another Glaceon with thick fur and a purple scarf adorning her neck.
"Oh, hey Kate." I laughed nervously.
"Mum! Dad!"
"Dia!"
I smiled, realizing she was the one who found him.
"Is this a coincidence?" Lonnie says. "I mean, they look exactly like the family in my book!"
"Lonnie, we don't have time for your romance nonsense."
"But-"
"Please?" Kate insisted.
Lonnie groaned. "All right."
After that, everyone introduced themselves to each other. At that very moment, Lonnie's eyes sparkled like she found buried treasure. Huh, she does look cute...
"I knew it was you!" She beamed. Dash and Bella stared at her, confused.
"You wrote 'Melting a Frozen Heart', right?! Kyaaahh! I can't believe I actually met you!" The Leafeon beams, wagging her tail in a furious motion. Bella's face darkened, directing her gaze towards the Jolteon beside her.
"Dash," Bella rasped.
Sweat-dropping, Dash turned to his mate.
"Did you publish that book you wrote those years ago?"
"I did?" Dash says. "Oh, yeah, I did!"
"Dash!"
"What?"
"You published it?!"
"Yes, I published it! You know, for the big chance the world gets to know our love story!"
Kate and I couldn't help but snicker at the arguing couple. They acted like teenagers instead of adults.
"C'mon Bells, you said you'll bet on us, right?"
"Using my own words against me? Ha! I don't-"
"Mummy? D-Daddy?"
Dash and Bella flinched, turning to their kits.
"Are you-" Bambi says, and her lips trembled. She was on the verge of tears.
"O-Of course not!" Bella stammered, trying hard to smile awkwardly.
"Uh, Bambi, why don't you and Dia play over that bush over there? We could have some ice cream next."
"Ice cream!"
Dash let out a sigh of relief as she ran off. The ice fox beside him slugged him on the shoulder.
"Ow!" He whined.
"Dash."
"Alright, I'm sorry..." He laughs and nuzzled her. "Just, please...?" Dash pleaded with matching puppy (foxy?) eyes. "Besides, we already got a fan..."
The Glaceon huffed indignantly, and said, "Fine."
"Thanks Bells..."
I guess that, was over.

The couple turned to us with calm expressions.
"Heh, sorry about that..." Dash chuckled. "Now, where are we? I guess we could express our thanks over Odini's... uhh... what café is it again?"
"Do you mean Odette's?" I asked.
"Yeah, that one."
Blake once again took the spotlight and said, "Since you're obviously new in town, can I at least show you around?"
"Sure."
"Bambi! Dia!" Bella called.
"Coming!"
Soon enough, our little group started to go around town, with Blake's torturing babbling. 'Somebody stop him!' I mentally pleaded.
I turned to look at Lonnie, and figured out she was pleading the same. Even Dash and Bella looked bored and tired from listening to Blake, including Bambi and Diamond.
After a few minutes Dash and Bella tried to start a conversation.
"So, Kate..." Bella says. "What is your job? It's kind of confusing since explorers and messengers here also wear scarves..."
"I hope you won't be surprized if I tell you, Mrs-"
"Just Bella..."
"Right, I hope you won't be surprized..." I said, sweat-dropping.
"Of course we won't." Dash says. "Fire away."
"We're rescuers..." I said. Hearing those words, Dash's face fell, and stared at the ground.
"Oh."
What's wrong? Was...it something I said? Bella nuzzled Dash to comfort him, and he made it obvious that something was kind of off; he only returned the gesture half-heartedly.
I kind of felt guilty for what I did. His face showed a hint of regret, and most of all, sadness.
Maybe he was a former rescuer, and something bad happened. No, it couldn't be true... Bella whispered something to him, and he nodded.
