Katherine's P.O.V.
********
"Miss Katherine!" I heard Shaunder
call my name. His paws are too stubby for him, and he ended up rolling into a furry ball and rammed smack into me. I winced, realizing he crashed into my injured leg.
"Sorry." He said.
"Where is the other den anyway?" I asked. The Cubchoo just shrugged. Something tells me he didn't go out for a long time...
I groaned. It was time to put this foxy nose for a test. I sniffed the air, catching Icicle's scent.
"Gotcha."
Hmm... Her scent smells like Occa Berries...
"What are you doing, Miss Katherine?" Shaunder asked.
"Tracking. What is your age?"
"T-Three."
"Please, just call me Kate."
"Ohh! Can I call you big-sis?" He beamed, his eyes sparkling like gems.
I laughed and ruffled his fur. Children can be so cute...
"Sure. Now all we had to do is find them."
I limped over the snowy grounds, walking side-by-side with Shaunder. Finally, I saw a few snowy piles... no-those aren't snowy piles.
It was Icicle and the clan members!
"Icicle!" I shouted. She was struggling to push some boulders that was blocking the cave entrance. She turned to us and frowned.
"You shouldn't be out here..." She whispered.
"I can help."
"How?"
"As a rescuer, I must do what must I do best." I said, squeezing into a small gap between two boulders, making it inside.
"Hi." I greeted nervously.
A male Beartic turned to me. His aura was a little intimidating, but after a few seconds, the feeling subsided.
"I suppose you're here to help?" He asked. I gave a plain nod and asked Irazi.
"Irazi, can you teach me how to 'Dig'?"
-------
"That was amazing!" Shaunder beamed.
"Thank you, little Eevee." King smiled.
The others turned to me, huge smiles plastered on their muzzles.
It was nighttime and we were eating dinner; a simple dish of berries. I grinned from ear-to-ear.
Okay, I admit it. I can't help... but feel proud of myself. I sat beside Shaunder, the Cubchoo spraying bits of berry juice on my face.
"Sowwie..." He said, his voice muffled by the berry he was chewing on. I laughed and pawed the juice off my face.
------
An Eevee was lying on a corner, the poor thing covered with bandages.
He groaned and opened his eyes.
"W-Where am I..." He rasped. "Who-am-I...?"
"Hey kid."
"Who are you?" He asked.
"I'm in your head. Why do you even ask?"
"What do you want from me?"
"I want... you to work for..me..." The mysterious voice replied, causing the evolution fox to frown.
"And why should I trust you?" He asked.
"If you work hard enough for me..." The voice said, "You can have your memories back..."
"Nah, you're ridiculous. I'm fine by my own. I can't work for you."
"You're going to regret this..." The voice growled, and was no more.
-------
I woke up and saw Shaunder.
"I can't sleep, Big-Sis-Kate." He said.
Arceus, Arceus... That has to be the weirdest dream Cresselia gave me.
I rubbed the sleep from my eyes and stared lazily at Shaunder.
"Hey, what's up?" I asked.
"I can't sleep..." Shaunder repeated.I looked at the entrance. The sun was nearly rising on the horizon; it was alright he couldn't fall asleep.
"Are you up for a stroll?" I asked.
"Yeah, I-I think so..." Shaunder replied. I tied on my scarf and motioned for Shaunder to come along.
The Cubchoo eagerly went after me, and clumsily stepped on Icicle's paw.
"Oops."
I stifled a laugh. After a few missed steps and stumbles, he finally made it to me.
"What place can we go to?" I asked.
"Hmm... Mommy told me about a place called Crystalline Cave. It's about a few steps away from here..."
Wow. Crystalline... Something tells me the cave was loaded with beautiful gem-like ice.
"Let's go to that place then." I said.
"Cool!" Shaunder raced after me, excited.
I took a glance on my injured leg. I noticed it had a bad bite mark. Leena. That Persian; Norsoe has somehow turned her dark and evil like him.
Also... that weird dream again. Why do I always get weird dreams? Why am I hero? Why did they choose me? If only Blake and Lonnie were here. If only my parents were here. If only. If only.
I was intentionally deep in my thoughts when I realized Shaunder already came into a halt. Crystalline Cave.
"Wow." I stared in awe at the beauty. It was really a sight to behold.
"Let's go inside!" Shaunder exclaimed, excited.
I padded along with him, marvelling at the beautiful structures of ice. It shone like crystals and stars on the night sky.
It was about a minute until we realized we went in deeper. What wrong could happen?
"Big sis!" Shaunder called. "Look at this one! It's beautiful!"
Indeed, I saw a rock-no... ice? Rock? I racked my brain, trying to find an answer. Oh, I knew it. It was obviously an Icy Rock!
Kate...
It seems like it was calling my name. I shook the thoughts out of my head. Stupid imagination.
"Wow, Big Sis, I wonder if you would evolve into a blue fox by touching that rock..."
Kate...
Without thinking, I edged closer, the atmosphere getting colder the closer I reached it.
Kate...
Still mesmerized by the beauty, I took a step closer... and reached one of my paws to touch it.
My eyes widened when I realized my paw-pad had already came to a rest against it.
Suddenly, colors related to an aurora surrounded me. A whirlwind of
colors began to whirl tighter and tighter around me, and a new funny feeling began to strike against me; still awed at the beauty, I felt myself change.
My ears grew longer, and I was now twice my previous height. My tail stretched to a longer and more slender form, and an ice crown crystalized on my head and long straps stretched down from it, similar to my tail.
My brown and cream fur slowly faded away into multiple shades of blue. My soft Eevee mane shrunk away to a more smaller one, and I closed my eyes. When I finally opened them, I realized the process was now finished.
I stared at the midnight-colored paw pressed against the rock; it was obviously mine! I backed away slowly, staring in awe at my sleek new form.
"Whoa." I said.
"Wow, big-sis Kate! Your look just changed! You look beautiful!"
I didn't reply; just staring at my new form in awkward silence. I'm a Glaceon now... I guess I am...
