Chapter 1 - Eternal Gods can die too

Ester felt as if something was beckoning to her, trying to remind her of danger, but she quickly dismissed it. Now was not the time to think about mysterious feelings; she was an eternal supreme god. After all, things like that would never make her hesitate.

"What's wrong with you?" she jested to a man who was standing beside her with a captivating smile, "we have strived and fought for countless years already. Finally, everything will come to an end, take that 'ruler spark,' and become the hegemon. Our brothers and sisters are waiting for you." she waved her dainty hands and laughed.

The man looked at the woman and laughingly answered, "I know, I know, but I think it was too easy to get here from the last death trial, something is certainly not right we must be careful."

"Oh, really, brother? Do you think it was easy to reach this place? Let me tell you on our last death trial, we killed at least a thousand primordial dragons, passed seventeen godly teams who fought as hard as we did for ages to get here, and do not forget, three calamitous events and four Divine illusions, particularly the last one, that killed a majority of our brothers and sisters." said a handsome man with razor-sharp eyes who was standing behind these two.

"Yes, big brother Demine we have already won. The only thing we need to do now is for you to take that spark." said the middle-aged man who was four meters tall with spikes and bloody wounds on his head, quite an unpleasant sight to look at, but this man's injuries were healing quite fast, visible to the naked eye.

"I concur."

"I agree, go."

"We believe in you! do it!"

"Yes, you are the only worthy man to wield such power. We all believe and trust you."

"Do it, master, just do it," said the little boy with a laugh who was entirely at ease.

After that, several more people voiced their thoughts and encouraged him to take the last step.

Hearing all the mighty beings saying that everything was alright, Demine decided to keep his astray thoughts back in his head. They were right what could go wrong at this last step, so he gave them a nod with a smile and went towards the empty space that housed one shiny peculiar little object, a spark which gave the sense of supremacy that overshadowed the existence itself.

The only thing for him to do was to reach and absorb this spark to refine it, which would make him a ruler of the universe, and all this ongoing trial of constant death would finally be over.

"Come to me and become one with me!" Demine said and calmly extended his hands towards the spark. He was only an inch away from it when suddenly he felt piercing pain from behind. When he looked down, what he saw shocked him to his core, a sword had pierced him from the back straight through his heart and forward.

a terrifying amount of energy passed through his body, trying to wreck all his meridians, blood vessels, even his god soul in an attempt to ground him to dust.

Shock instantly disappeared from his face. He was an eternal god who had been through countless perils in his long life and survived them all. In the next moment, he willed all energy in his body to activate the defenses and negate the rushing force.

While he was reinforcing his defense at the same time, Demine morphed his left hand into a bizarre claw and attacked anything that was behind him. Demines strike connected. That attack caused someone to grant and retreat in hast.

Demine sighed in relief, but he was angry at his friends. Someone managed to strike him and give him such a big injure out of nowhere. He was genuinely frustrated, even if they were relaxed. How could they forget about vigilance at this step? It was unforgivable.

Just as he turned around and wanted to rebuke all of them, what he saw, came as another big shock; Demine couldn't help but roar, "what are you all doing? Stop this!!! Stop it now!! Ester, help me! This instance! break out of your stupor now!!"

There were around eighteen supreme beings here in this empty space. One final floor of the 'Eternal temple of the universe' this place had nothing but 'ruler spark' and them, Demine could not bring himself even to think that any one of them could betray him. They were together for billions of years in all the conquests and battles, they knew each other like the back of there hands, and the trust they had between each other was the reason they reached this far in the first place.

The handsome man with sharp eyes pierced demine, but this was only the beginning. The four meters tall man pulled out the spikes from his head and sent it forward. Spikes seemed ephemeral. The little boy sent an electric beam with terrifying energy towards his head, other than Ester. All sixteen beings were using different techniques to attack him.

But that was nothing. Not only were Gods attacking Demine but also each other, and these attacks were all meant to kill. They were too close. The distance between the farthest and closest was only thirty meters for God too small of a gap.

The only one that did nothing was Ester, who stood there dumbly in deep shock. That was the reason why Demine wanted her to react.

It took some time to describe everything that was happening, but it all happened in an instant. The time Gods took to finish their encouraging chat, the moment Demine reached out with his hands, pierce, the deflection, it all happened in less than a nanosecond because all attacks at their level were beyond the understanding of humans or anything known to humans. Even the speed at which they acted, understood circumstances, exchanged messages, or thoughts were fast.

Demine would not wait for sure death. He would retaliate no matter what happened, such was his convictions from adulthood to this day, to never die without a fight. The next moment, his eyes went scarlet. Even he could not sense the deathly halo above his head.

When Ester saw what was happening, she remembered the feeling she had a moment ago and realized she could have stopped everything if she reacted to her instinct, but now it was already too late. Nobody but her realized that they were still in an illusion of death trial and nothing was over.

Ester, instead of attacking others, extended her dainty hands and with tear strained eyes attacked the enormous grotesque creature that was hanging high above in one of the vivid pictures suspended on an illusory wall with 'Heaven crossing soul intent' that devoured all her energy and foundation of godhood for one final bout.

Garganza, one of the scariest creatures of the universe with the obscure innate supreme divine ability named 'Eternal Illusion,' never expected that one of these human race warriors could somehow resist. It was the creation of chaos and only followed orders coming from above. How could it think that someone could maintain reason in its Domain?

Well, if one can have such an ability, others could have something powerful too. Esters' divine ability 'Resist the will of chaos' this ability was the bane of all creatures born from chaos. Still, in her happiness previously, she forgot to activate it. That was her fatal mistake that caused all this, so she instantly decided to sacrifice herself.

Garganza was powerful, but it could not avoid the desperation attack of the Supreme God, so it decided to drag everyone with it. 'Heaven crossing soul intent' connected and blew the creature's head into pieces, then it went for its soul, destroying it in the process.

Ester collapsed and muttered her last words to Demine. "Wake up! You are still in an illusion! You are slaughtering them all! Just stop, please, I beg you."

Demine was not randomly given his status within the party. He indeed was powerful enough to dominate them all combined. If all sixteen beings joined forces, they would be able to give a good fight, but now when they were attacking not only Demine but each other as well, resisting Demine was an impossibility.

Ten seconds was the time needed to finish the battle. When Demine woke up and freed himself from illusion, the sight before his eyes were of tragedy and horror.

All his brothers and sisters, his one and only disciple, his lover Ester they were dead. There was no air here, but everything was heavy and suppressed from the colossal amount of energy that was used in this 'Battle royal.' Even if a human came here with a super combat suit, they would still be grounded to dust and killed in less than a second.

Things like that could not faze Demine in the past, but now all the body parts thrown here and there the gory scene of everything almost draw him crazy. Weren't they torn apart by his decimatus claw attacks that compressed the void and split the cracks of reality? If someone was struck, there was no survival, only death!

"I am sorry. It was a mistake on our part to think we would reach the peak of the temple so easily." Demine looked at the passage that opened several hundred meters away from the space where the battle happened and smiled wryly. His smile was full of despair and a sense of loss.

"How far did we reach. Where is the end to this damned place? How much did we cross? 90%? Maybe 95%? Maybe a little more. It doesn't matter anymore anyway, they are all dead, and I am going to die soon." Demine hysterically laughed and looked at the place where Karius stabbed him. The heart was his biggest strength and weakness. Due to this injury, he received several more fatal wounds. His soul was damaged, and on the verge of destruction, the body was useless! Force in him was scattering, everything that made him eternal was crumbling one at a time, and it was happening fast.

"I, Demine, know that someone outsmarted my family and me but do not think that I will die silently and without doing anything!!" In the next moment, Demine waved his hand and dragged all the body parts of his family members into a peculiar looking ring on his left big finger that had a small planet which was held by the claw of a silver dragon that nestled it in its embrace, while one eye was vigilantly looking around and the other was closed. The dragon was half coiled on this planet. The ring was stunning and pleasant to look at on all sides.

This was an inter-spatial ring that had a vast amount of space with many layers of space interconnected between each other full of items collected by Demine throughout his life. Demine waved his hand, and some parchment flew out.

Demine flicked his finger, and the parchment was set ablaze. The next moment, he was teleported out of the 'Eternal temple of the universe,' near one of the Biggest Chaos planets in the universe.

Demine touched the ring and muttered, "I hope someone will avenge my family and me. I leave every manual, technique, immortal objects, god treasures, and so on to those who are worthy and have the guts to ascend the temple, treasures will reappear once again when the temple gives another sign." The next moment countless amounts, of peculiar things, flew out of the ring and quickly distributed in various parts of the chaos planet.

Demine teleported dozens of times and distributed his family member's inter-spatial rings while making trials with the traits and characteristics of their own to commemorate their souls and give them peace.

Temple had several rules, eternal existence was no longer eternal in soul, body and consciousness they agreed to this rule before entering and another was whoever left the temple would die within an hour. There was no exception.

Well, Demine already didn't care about the rules. He was going to die anyway, but he was no fool either.

Demine would never allow the primordial chaos to nourish itself with his Eternal foundation and god force, god aura, etc. something or someone put that beast there, and they were trapped in its Domain of Eternal illusion.

The illusion looked simple. Just put Gods together and let them fight, but it was harder to do that than to ascend from mortality to eternity. It had to trick their judgment, drive them crazy, let them go astray, and make them thoughtless.

Demine didn't hesitate any further. He separated from his body and left his soul bare. With a sigh, he began to draw all of his Eternal energy into the space of the ring.

Demine separated his flesh, blood, organs, meridians and transformed them into purest energy, mixing it with Eternal Energy until only his bones were left. At the last moment, Demine drew the remnant power of his soul, put the ring on a skeleton, and sent it off to the darkness of the void where there was no life as of yet.

One day this ring would find a new owner and would give him a head start and protection, maybe not his insight or experience but something that was intimately special to him. his supreme technique cultivated by no other.

Demine mattered final farewell to this world full of beauty but a sad end. He slowly self-destructed, living hope for future generations to succeed.

The ring reached the void where it would anticipate and await its new master, the faithful one not fated.

…..

Hahaahhaahahaha

Dominus Morgol was sitting on a beautiful wide chair looking at the ceiling laughing his head off his face contorted with laughter.

Dominus understood many things today. This remnant memory of a god was maybe one of the most valuable pieces of information he ever got about the world beyond his reach, but he couldn't stop himself from laughing out because this God sent all the valuable treasures who knew were. like maybe living a thing or two in there wouldn't matter would it.

Why would he do that? That was the question Dominus asked himself.

He thought of several answers by analyzing Demine's frame of mind before death and came to a specific human attributed conclusion.

Demine was lying to himself! Maybe he wanted his true successor to learn this one technique that he cherished even at the end of his life. Selfishness most living beings possess.

Dominus honestly had no idea what was God's real goal. Anyway, he was running out of time himself.

"Four off you sleeping in my head wake up now! There was one mother f…cough, cough who screwed me over," said Dominus behaving out of his usual character.

"Ho, ho, father, hold on what's wrong, and how many times do I have to tell you to stop swearing? Behaving like an uncultured kid when we are alone, it pisses me off." the sweet voice of a teenage girl was heard straight in his mind.

"Priscilla, there is something wrong. Why is father behaving like that? We only slept for 10 minutes. Did he choke on wine or something during that time? What a weirdo."

Hahahaha

"You are right, look there's a wine all over," said another voice in a mocking tone.

"Alright, three off you stop bullsh..cough..cough, he probably jumped into blackhole while we were sleeping and became spaghetti, that made him angry or maybe worse, he was rejected straight into his face by alien chicks of planet Doroin." laughed the most mature sounding being of the four.

Hearing all this, Dominus was outraged, "David, what blackhole? Why would I get angry if someone rejected me? And where did you see wine all over, Lika? Did I choke on a wine? Why I don't know about it, Kevin. How dare you call me a weirdo? Priscilla."

"Four of you better behave. I'm quite pissed off right now. I accidentally unearthed remnant memory of the previous wielder of the ring while browsing the space inside."

"Alright, alright, father, we are sorry," said Priscilla.

"Yeah, we didn't mean it, but it's partly your fault for waking us so suddenly," said Kevin while muttering to himself, "I worked so hard and will have to work even harder; this guy forgot to praise me twice, does he think one time is enough? Pathetic."

"Khm... you know, father, can hear your thoughts, right." Lika softly said while mocking him at the same time.

"Alright, that's enough, let father tell us what happened," David rebuked them sternly- while praising Dominus as if he was the most mature one, "father is the best, father the all-knowing, the father will show us the true way! 110% sure."

Dominus could not care about their behavior, so he recounted everything he saw,

"That mazafazer, how could he do something like that legitimate weirdo, moron, idiot!!"

"I agree."

"I agree to, his b*tch as pu*sy."

"Don't you worry, father, we will revive him and kill him again!"

Hearing them, Dominus couldn't help but frown and sigh one after another with how selfish they all sounded.

Everything he had was because of this ring. He was born because and with the help of this ring.

In a certain way because Zagaroth was born from it. his lifebond companion.

Everything that his mother and father achieved was because of it, but now this sacred object couldn't truly help him out of his predicament. Everything depended on him, Zagaroth, and his children, four super-living AI that got created with the help of the ring's energy.

The supreme innate divine ability 'Prophet of all' that he awakened at the age of ten was also because of its help.

Everything Earth had also was with the rings and Zagaroth's assistance. Still, now six of them had to face imminent peril and avoiding this threat was impossible.

Just five minutes ago, Dominus had no idea why he, with an ability to see every possible future, from all perspectives including other peoples, objects, living or dead, could not see further than two months in the future anymore and why he couldn't stop the calamity it almost made him go crazy.

When you have an ability that defies all common sense and gives you limitless options, but you still are unable to do anything, wouldn't you go crazy too?

Everything he built up, every miracle he created using this ability, all the good he had done would be gone within moments so much frustration and powerlessness.

"Finally, we have some answers," said David.

"Yeah, this temple will appear again," said Priscilla.

"But how can it threaten our existence?" Lika muttered in a low voice.

"Ih, ih, ih, all those treasures could have helped us save the world," added David, full of sadness.

"We don't know that, and it's impossible to find out. Even if we reach our limits in calculations, You, children, have no idea what I felt when I saw him distribute those items. I wanted to snatch them all. They looked so useful and powerful," said Dominus with a heavy sigh.

"It doesn't matter, father, we have slept enough, let us begin, our preparations should be enough," said Kevin.

"Remember, all of us must succeed, or doom will be impossible to avert. If we fail, the world I want to create will cease to exist." said Dominus with a heavy voice, while adding, "I always thought my ability to be omnipotent, oh how wrong I was! Even those who are eternal can die too! what are we in the grand scheme of things!"

Dominus stood up from his chair while smiling and disappeared as if warping through space. The ring helped him to do so.

When so many things were at stake, how could Dominus and his children not vent their frustrations? They were playing around to liven up.

Their goal was to create something impossible, something that could defy the fate.

Everything was at stake! The survival of humanity was at stake! If Dominus failed, society would face not only death but something even worse.
