"I won't really say that," Elijah interrupted. "This rock was placed next to it, but it was a lot larger."
"What does it do?" Savvy questioned as she tilted her head to the left.
"This rock is clearly not from earth. It has energy stored in it, but...it's quite abnormal I don't even understand it myself."
"The one planted under you could provide electricity to the White House for over a year," Isaac added.
Elijah stared at him with a frown, "Actually, no. This thing could shatter the lights from overwhelmed power in seconds."
Noah glanced at everyone in the room, the three sitting next to him were filled with shock. "How are we supposed to believe this?" Lucas questioned.
"See it radiating? That's the rock being activated. The bomb did that. Surprisingly, it's energy Shield the four of you. Although the power was too strong for your bodies to handle, causing you to pass out."
"Wait. Ms.Baldwin was standing right next to me. Shouldn't she be standing here too?" Savvy pointed out.
Elijah looked at Issac who slowly crossed his arms before lifting a brow. "There was a teacher in the room?"
"Of course there was a teacher in the room! Who would be teaching them?" Elijah huffed, smacking Issac on the forehead.
Nova stood up fear filling her facial expression. "Unless she planned this."
Isaac saw her conflicted and tried to comfort her." Let's not get ahead of ourselves-"
"Did you find her body?"
The two cousins looked at each other before shaking their heads.
"Then she did it! She wouldn't let me go to the bathroom even though she'd let me most of the time."
"You're right, she had always allowed you to go except for the rest of us. She wanted everyone inside," Lucas added.
"And she wasn't worried at all when she heard the ticking," Noah whispered.
The room was silent for a bit before Noah asked the question that no one wanted to ask.
"But why?"
"What are you doing?" Nova asked as Isaac stood up and started dialing on his phone.
"Calling the department because what I'm hearing from you guys is that a possible bombing psycho is on the loose. May I please remind you that she is also your chemistry teacher."
"Just like you said, possible. I've known Ms. Baldwin for years, she isn't that oblivious. She knows we would be able to put the pieces together if it was her."
"What if she wants us to think that?" Noah added.
"I agree with Noah. Her body couldn't just disappear," Lucas sighed.
"What if someone took her?" Nova defended.
"Why are you making excuses for her?" Savvy asked curiously, not liking Nova's actions.
"I said it. I've known her for years. She used to tutor me after school me before my father found and offered her a job in Everford high."
"So you're saying you knew her personally?" Elijah suggested, rubbing the side of his jawline with the back of his fingers.
"Well, no. I just knew how she was as a person. My dad made it clear to both of us that we're only supposed to have a professional relationship during my classes, meaning we were not allowed to be friends with each other."
"A few moments ago you were calling her out, why would you do that if you didn't want her in trouble?" Savvy asked.
"I wanted to say what was on my mind, it seemed like the only logical thing to do."
"Still, I can't let this pass by without informing the department. What if you're right? What if someone actually took her body? Give me a moment, I'll make sure no harms comes to her."
With a nod from Nova, Isaac went to the corner of the room, resting the phone next to his ear as it rang.
"Well, the first thing on our list is to figure out your superpowers," Elijah smiled.
"Please tell me you're kidding," Noah chuckled.
Elijah had a serious look on his face, informing them quietly that he was not.
Savvy stared at the professor before letting out a soft laugh. "So what? I say abracadabra and something suddenly happens?"
The cup in her clutches started to tremble before shooting up into the ceiling, and into the next floor above them.
Everyone watched with wide eyes, looking up at the hole in the ceiling.
The professor quickly recovered from his shocked face and cleared his throat. "Apparently, yes. Please never say that again."
"No way! This is awesome!" Savvy jumped, a wide grin attached on her face.
"I want to say it," Noah stated blankly.
"Say it!" Savvy cheered.
"Don't!" Elijah warned.
"Imma say it."
"Yes."
"Nooo!"
"Abracadabra."
Everyone in the room ducked, afraid something else will come and fly across the room. Thankfully, nothing did.
"I guess it doesn't work for all of us?" Lucas comforted.
"You're probably right," Elijah thought aloud, his eyes eyeing the hole above.
Lucas tapped his fingers on the table to get his attention "How do we find them out then?"
"Go home and do whatever you do daily."
"What? How is that gonna help?" Savvy blasted, disappointment filling her.
"We can't force it out of you, can we? Just go on about your day and see if something out of the ordinary happens. Your parents are on their way to come and pick you guys up. Make sure before you leave to get your access cards."
Nova looked at him confused before asking, "access cards?"
"Yeah. In case you need something, I'm here most of the time on weekdays."
This made a wide grin make it's way to Nova's face, earning a glare from Elijah. "You know what I mean."
"Wait until I tell my brother the stuff I could do on him," Savvy giggled darkly.
"No! This should stay between us. I'm pretty sure people think whoever survived the explosion was probably behind. Letting them know that you got some kind of ability from it can and will drive them insane."
Everyone nodded understandingly, realizing the seriousness in Elijah's tone.
"Thank god! I was so worried, I thought I had lost you," Nova's father whispered as he hugged her tightly. Of course, this was embarrassing her greatly, knowing the rest would bother her about being "Daddy's little girl".
"I'm fine, don't worry about it. Plus, if I need something, Professor Rivera had given us access cards to this building."
He smiled at her as he brushed the strands of hair sticking on her face off.
"Anything we should know before leaving?" Lucas' mom asked her hands on the taller boy's shoulder.
"actually," Isaac started, "I've discussed somethings with Mr. Adams and we suggested you all stay at home. This goes to all citizens. The school will also be closed for the whole next week."
"Why?" nova asked, looking worriedly between Isaac and her father.
"The station called, claiming some unnatural activity going around ever since the bombing happened. It's best if you stay at home, where you're safe."
No one bothered to bid the other well before leaving, all acting like strangers who never got the chance to interact.
