In that moment, I felt as if I was the king of the world leaning into her slightly unsure if she wanted the same. She looked at my eyes and I returned the gaze while she started to lean towards me. I took that as a yes and leaned further in until we were inches apart for each other's lips, her breath against mine. We held that position for a while staring into each other's eyes taking our sweet time, my love for that was indescribable. Then we kissed each other, oh how sweet it was at that moment.
I gently bit the bottom of her lip gently asking if I could taste her. She obliged and let me in but she also went to taste me in turn. We closed our eyes and wrapped our hands around each other gently kissing. She tasted like fresh bread and summer, the season I love the most. While her scent, her own specular scent and roses slipped into my nose.
'Oh how I missed that smell, but now I can have it when she is beside me.' I thought as my mind whizzed through a flurry of thoughts. There we were in each other's embrace, not caring about our surroundings. I could feel the world fading away, voices becoming echos, words of ghosts. We held that kiss for as long as we could and dared, pulling away when we ran out of breath. Gazing into each other's eyes.
We exchanged smiles at each other, she twines her fingers with mine. "Come, Bronze wants to see you, we can have more fun later after this is done alright?" She said to me with a smile and a slight blush I had never seen before gesturing for me to take the lead. That I did, holding her hand as we made our way into the chamber where it would all go down.
"Although what about your mother, wouldn't she reject this and probably disown you? What then?" I asked her glancing at her emerald green eyes.
"Then so be it," she said simply returning the glance "to hell with her, this time I'm doing what I want, whether she likes it or not." Pausing for a moment, the slight blush returned as she lowered her voice "After all I already have all I need, and that is well… you."
I smiled at Dilya and also felt a blush come to my cheeks "Well that's good to hear" I said to her "Ready to do just that?"
She nods and together we entered the chamber the kings, queens and leaders of our land gathered in one place. Now their backs were turned to us as the brightest minds rushed about to set up the construct, or as I call it the Void Construct. I went to my respective place as the head of this project to oversee Its final preparations before activation, Dilya by my side. I felt her mother's gaze wash over me but I ignored it and kept to task like I always have been just this time, just that this time I had someone by my side.
