Chapter 8 - The Truth Like The Sun

"What are you doing big bro gale? Why are you back so late". Now this is gonna be a problem. I look Aalto in the eyes "it's nothing to be concerned about" I say warming my smile "go back to sleep I'll come with". Me and Aalto walk back to his room and the rest of the night we slept peacefully.

The next day me and Aalto woke up to an unexpected knock at his door. We both get up to go see who it was. Aalto opens the door and it was someone who I should've known was coming, counselor saki. "Counselor saki what are you doing here at this hour?" Aalto says confused. While they were talking I used that opportunity to analyze saki. I notice his shoes were a bit dirty and he was a bit more on guard. I step in to break their conversation "hey, counselor saki" his head turns to me "your shoes look a little bit dusty" I say pointing to them. "Ah yes I tripped on my way here" Aalto gains a weird expression on his face.

After counselor saki leaves me and Aalto sit in the couch fully awake now. "Aalto? What wrong" I say suspiciously "not much, it's just that counselor saki isn't one to trip mindlessly" he says in thought. At this rate he'll start to catch on by his self. "Aalto, come on we still have yet to take the medicine to your mother" Aalto stands up "you're right let's go" he says.

We walk out of the academy and to the hospital. Upon arrival everyone already seemed to be well aquatinted with him, per expected. We walk up the stairs to the third floor and walk to room 356. "This is it" Aalto says opening the door. Aalto starts conversing with is unconscious mother "hey mom I've brought you some medicine to help you feel better and get stronger." While Aalto was talking I looked deeper into his mother's condition. I felt her pulse, I felt her temperature, I felt her breath "they're all normal?" I say shocked "what was that big bro gale?" I bounced in panic "Nothing!! It was nothing" After Aalto is done giving his mother the medicine we walked out the room and closed the door.

We arrive back to the academy and I ask Aalto a concerning question "Aalto do you think it's possible for your mother to be conscious and just be pretending" Aalto looks at me with a serious face "my mother would do nothing like that" I responded to his response Unaccordingly "Aalto tell me what you really think. Not every situation is sunshine and rainbows, faith is not the answer right now" he snaps back "I have faith because I know it's the truth" I lose control of my words "truth can only be searched and found not believed in. Just like your stupid counselor" Aaltos eyebrows tilt in confusion "what about counselor saki?" Shit I've said too much.

We return to his room and I explain everything that happened. "Do you have any proof of this" I take out the note I still had in my back pocket and let Aalto read it. "I can't believe he really is against me" I take the note back "not only that he knows about mine and yours abilities too" Aaltos head tilts down in sadness "why would he keep something this big from me?" Aalto and I are pretty close now so I let him in on my idea "my guess is he's trying to kill you to get something from you" Aalto looks at me. "He sent maru and amaru after you to kill you. Not only that but your mother is still conscious and is keeping it from you. The only explanation that I can come up with is that your mother and saki are working together." Aalto begins to deepen the conversation "why would my mother have to work for Sak-" I cut Aalto off as I realize the truth "blackmail". "blackmail?" Aalto says "what could he possibly want?" I could tell Aalto why buy doing that would reveal the root of this problem. I wouldn't want to know if I was being targeted by the king. Sadly I didn't have that luxury. "We need to go back to you mom..NOW!!"

We rush out of the Academy and take off to the hospital. As were running Aalto still tries to get answers. "Big bro gale what's happening I know you know" I really don't want to tell him but I can't right now "you figure it out when we get there. We arrive at the closed hospital and I can't tell Aalto is very pissed and confused. "Any ideas on how we get up to the third floor?" Aalto says "yeah..yeah I do actually" I tell Aalto to hang close to me. A circular platform of condensed air lifts us to the third floor window. We get in and start heading for Aaltos mother's room.

As we get to her room we see that the door is open. We take a peek inside and see saki and Aaltos mother conversing "what do you want with my child" she says crying and whimpering "the king wants what the king gets and that's his life" I didn't want to be right but at least I was prepared. I look over at Aalto he was in shock, not even a twitch came from him. Understandable. I hold Aaltos shoulder to comfort him and he starts moving again. "This chat was indeed fun but it's Time for you to go back to sleep"

Just by those words Aalto jumps out and attacks counselor saki with powerful water rush which pushes him to the wall. "AALTO TAKE YOUR MOTHER OUT OF HERE I'LL HOLD OFF SAKI!!" Aalto quickly put his mother's arm around his neck and carried her out. "So I guess our last battle wasn't enough proof of my abilities" I have no what I was thinking this dude is ways stronger than me. "Hey I only ran cause I was after something else...now I'm after you. Saki swings his arm vertically and I swing mine horizontally which causes our wind blades to cancel each other out. The cancel caused a massive surge of wind which broke everything glass including the window. I cover my eyes to protect them from dust which was a rookie mistake. Saki quickly get a good strike to my stomach literally winding me and I fly and crash into wall leaving cracks.

I can't fight him here it's too cramped. I used the condensed air to fly out of the room and into he Forrest with saki following close behind me. I land in the Forrest and and saki soon appears too. "Weird how your going after me when the one you want is Aalto". "You both are acceptable but you pose more of a threat" I can't win using the wind. I guess I have no choice but to trust that Aalto comes soon.
