The village was far but I still sprinted my hardest and that's when I felt it again, The wind, helping me and pushing me. I kept running and running. I could feel rain start to come down slowly, The ground started to get wet and slippery, mud puddles started to form, but the clouds stayed the same it was unnatural.
As I arrived into the deserted village, everyone must be in the disaster shelter. I look around for the village chief but instead I find Alizeh. I walk toward her to ask where the chief is. "Alizeh do you know where-"
"GALE! thank the clouds your ok. If you're going to leave like that tell someone first." she says intruruptingly
"Yes Alizeh I know that and I'm sorry but right now I need to find the chief" I say panicked. Time was running out and something catastrophic could happen at any moment.
"Yeah he's in the back, why do you need to-"
"thank you Ali" i say backing off towards the back.
I start jogging around eventually spotting the village chief. I push through tons on people to get to him. "CHIEF!!" I say trying to grab his attention. "Something big is going to happen chief we need to leave the village now!!!" the chief turns around with minimal concern on his face.
" it's just a storm we've gone through many of these in the past" he says.
"no, it's not just a storm" the chief looks at me with confusion. "When I went to the mountain to get a closer look at the clouds I saw a split in the storm."
"A split in the storm? Gale what are you talking about" his face starts to grow weary.
Whilst still gathering my breath and panicked knowing that were running out of time i still try my best to make sense "I mean this storm, is only happening in our village. Nowhere else. it's like, we're being targeted." The chiefs face became more and more worried.
His face began to sweat. His hand swings to his forehead to wipe it off before anyone sees. It's Understandable, as chief you must show everyone that you're brave. "Gale come with me" he says looking around suspiciously. No doubt something bad is going to happen. I nod my head while staring deep into his eyes, I could tell he was very serious.
We head to the supply closet and the chief checks to make sure no ones following. He shuts the door and locks it. "Gale this is super important and I need you to listen, Okay?" chiefs eyes stare into my soul
"yes, I'm listening, what's going on?"
"When you were little your father killed your mother, what were the last words he said" what is he getting at?
"his last words were "the king will help us, all of us, even a low life like me will soon be great"" I roll my eyes, embarrassed to say that out loud.
"This is not good" he starts pacing around nervously.
"Chief what's happening?"
The chief stops and begins to stare at me again except this time with a different emotion. This emotion was sad like he was trying to tell me he was sorry through his eyes. "He's after you now. The king is coming for you" my eyebrows differ in confusion.
"What are you talking about?"
He puts his hands on my shoulder "Gale have you felt a strange rush of wind lately. Like wind that had a mind of it own but you were still in control?" he looks at me seriously like this is a life or death situation. Lighting strikes heavily in the background. The screams of countless people start to join together with the loud roars of thunder outside.
"yes I have, when I fell of the cliff earlier I-"
"YOU FELL OF A CLIFF?" he says panicked
"um...when I tripped on a large rock, just before I hit the ground it felt like a gust of wind cradled me and saved my life. Oh and also when I was running here it helped me again"
"Gale im so sorry" a loud thunder bolt smashes the front of the shelter.
The chief unlocks the door and we both rush out to see the damage and it was not good. The smell of melted steel filled the air. Me and the chief walked closer to the scene. It was unimaginable. The amount of power a bolt of lightning would need to melt through 10 layers of reflective steel is insane, it's..its impossible. And like a flash another bolt of lighting hits except this time it was different.
With this lighting bolt 4 people suddenly appeared. The one on the far left was wearing a blue mask, the inner left was wearing a red mask, inner right was wearing a green mask, and the last was wearing a white mask. I analyze all of them carefully. Their physique, their posture, you could tell they were elemental masters. And with how the blasted through our shelter I dont think a single person is qualified enough to take the, on.
"Gale" they say speaking in unison. "Today is the day you carry the wind on your back." I look at them with confusion
"wind? On my back?" They answer shortly after.
"King expects a lot from you" and there's that name. I don't why but he must love my life, more than me at least
"what exactly are you getting at" they move closer and I can start to hear it. Their not talking in unison, it's one person speaking from multiple vessels.
"Gale, find the rest of the three descendants and come find us, King will be waiting for you".the masked people vanished after the voice let out a chuckle.
"descendants? How will I know where to start I don't even know what they look like or what i'm looking for" I turn around and everyone is staring at me. Some were crying other were in shock. Suddenly I here "let the wind lift your soul Gale" in the crowd. Before I knew it everyone was saying it.
That's when she emerged from the crowd, Alizeh. She takes my hand and looks me in the eyes "may the wind lift your soul Gale" her voice was so soft and mellow, filled with grief yet happiness. Immediately I could tell that this not so simple day would change my life forever. END
