Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

As soon as Alexander finished his food, he washed his plate, and ran back to the basement. "Hopefully those hand things didn't move out." He muttered to himself. They were, indeed still grouped up close to each other. Alex crouched down to their level. "So where do you come from?" He asked in a kind tone. Careful not to seem threatening. One of the creatures leapt up and scuttled toward Herrel's old book! Alex looked at the volume in surprise, just as another small monster crawled out of it. "Woah…" alex had no words. He ran his hand over the tome. It was a blue, worn down leather cover with the letters S W on it, engraved in gold. He looked around. "Well, since nobody's around…" Alexander opened the book. Instead of pages, however, laid a strange blend of purples and blues. Alex lowered a trembling finger to the 'pages' and, to his surprise, it went right through! Alex let out a small yell of surprise. "Everything okay down there?" His mother shouted back upstairs. "EVERYTHING'S FINE, MUM!" Alex called back. A slight tremor to his voice. He wondered. "If my hand can fit in there… maybe I could take a look at what's inside." Alex set the volume on the floor, grabbed his flashlight and hesitantly stepped into the old book.

Alex steamed at the top of his lungs as he fell down. The deeper he fell, the more he regretted his decision; which was pretty stupid from the start since he didn't have a clue as to where he was going. Finally, after what seemed like hours, he fell onto solid ground. "Land!! Sweet, sweet, land!" He sighed, relieved. "Wait…...Where am I?" He looked around. But all he could see was nothingness. "What did I just get myself into?"

Just then, something, or should I say someone interrupted his thoughts. "Heya! Say...You look lost, kid! Don't worry! I'll be happy to show you around!" looks like she's had a little too much coffee this morning Alex thought to himself as he smiled. "Hi! I-I'm Alexander." He extended his hand for her to shake. "Pleasure to meet you, Alex! I'm Allya, but you can call me Ally!" She beamed at Alex. "Do you know where we are? I am a bit lost." Alex admitted. Allya looked at him as if he lost his mind. "Are you kidding? We're in the Spiritles Wastes of course!" She laughed. Alex looked around. The Spiritless Wastes...This is a worse idea than I thought it would be. Thanks a lot, dad.
