Cassandra Stärr was sitting on her ornate glass throne, sorting through messages her court had sent. Bored out of her mind as she would do anything to distract her from her queenly duties. She sighed. "How much longer do I have to do this?!" Cassandra slammed her hand down on one of the arms of the chair. Lani turned to her wife. A blank expression on her face as usual. "This is why I keep reminding you it's about time you hire an assistant." She said, nonchalantly. "UGH! Lani! How are you always so calm all the time!" It was more an exclamation than a question. "Just because you're blind, doesn't mean you can just sit there while I do all the work!" Cassandra pouted and crossed her arms like a child who didn't get their way. A small smile crept up Lani's lips. "Cassie… I know something that'll cheer you up. Put the work down and pay attention to me for a second." The news Lani had received that morning was too good not to share with her dear wife.
"They said WHAT? WALKED OUT OF THE PORTAL?!!" Cassandra couldn't restrain herself. This was brilliant! The boy could lead them out of Saphorr and on to earth! Lani burst out laughing at her beloved's reaction. "Calm down! We still have to find him." Lani wiped a tear from her none seeing eye. "That shouldn't be a problem!" Cassie stood up, now boosted with confidence. "I'll send the Royal Guard to comb the Wastes! ALL OF IT!!" Lani laughed even harder. "You're going to go insane if you don't rest. Send the guard, then go to sleep. It's midnight!" Lani got up from the sofa and walked away to their bedroom. Oh, Cassie… Please don't open that portal. Earth isn't as great as it seems. Lani thought to herself as she passed a few guards who bowed their heads. A shadow fell across the queen's face. She wasn't born on Saphorr. She had been on Earth for a few years and her mother helped her escape to the other planet. Lani yawns as she lays down on the bed, falling into a dreamless sleep.
