Chapter 6 - The Meeting

Chris awoke unable to see anything but black. His eyes darted left to right but there was no light wherever he looked. He checked his body and he could see himself, but nothing else. He also noted that he wasnt standing, because there didn't appear to be any ground below him and he couldn't feel any either. He looked around one more time and he saw something huge shifting in the dark. He stared intently at the ahead at where he had seen the movement. Again he saw something absolutely massive move around and it seemed to be moving towards him. Suddenly two huge purple eyes opened before him, glowing with a surreal light, the pupils made him think of the pupils of snakes back on Earth. The two eyes moved back slightly as the creatures entire body began to glow in strange patterns. Chris couldn't believe his eyes as he witnessed the creature before him become visible. It was covered from head to to in black scales and the patterns were illuminated from bioluminescence that matched the creatures purple eyes. The creature stood on two legs and had two massive forearms, its head was larger than Chris's entire body and held a triangular shape. Chris also noticed something else moving behind the creature, suggesting it had a tail and wings. It locked Chris with its gaze and he felt absolutly hopeless and insignificant compared to the massive scale of the creature. If he wasn't already stunned then when was made more so when it spoke.

"Two days."

The creature looked down at Chris eyes full of judgment.

"Two days since I brought you here and all ready you've needed to borrow some of my power. Things are not looking that good for you right now."

Chris was frozen in fear and did his best to muster up courage to speak.

"W-w-what are y-you?"

"Hm? You mean you don't recognize your saviour? It was me who saved you from your fate on your world and brought you here."

Chris recalled the incident before he appeared wherever he was.

"That was you?!"

The creature looked down on him and smirked.

"I am Abraxios, one of the first dragons that were made in this world. I am so old I remeber the creator themself, and they made me the ruler of the Shadows. I brought you here to serve as my puppet."

Hearing or even thinking of the name of Abraxios sent shivers down Chris's spine, as if the word held power here.

"I knew youd be pathetic when I brought you here but I figured the improvements I made to you would've solved that. But it looks like you are still weak."

Chris was frozen in place, what if Abraxios decided to get rid of him right now? What would he do.

"Fortunately for you, it was difficult to bring you here and I dont like wasting things. Even when they're broken. Tell me, are you broken?"

An evil smile plays across his face as he awaits Chris's response. Chris swallows with anxiety.

"No, or not yet at least."

Abraxios' smile widens and a booming roar similar to laughter shakes every fiber of Chris being. Eventually the laughter stops,

"That is correct. I was honestly suprised you even figured out how to tap into my power, but then I saw the weaklings you used it on. My power is no plaything to be wasted on weak opponents, if you use it then it should actually be needed in the first place. This is an insult to me that cannot go unpunished. I've already decided on your punishment, it began as soon as you fell unconscious."

Chris trembles with fear.

"What is my punishment?"

"I can hear your every thought, see your every wish, and know your every desire because I brought you here. And to my surprise, the thing that messed you up the most was seeing how you killed those three humans. So I thought to myself 'He must really value his humanity and had been suprised to feel nothing at all as he killed those people.' So the perfect punishment for you, everytime you misuse my strength, I shall strip you of one of your emotions, and further consume your body."

"You said further consume my body."

"Bringing you here had a cost for you as much as it did for me. Since you were brought here by me, you've inherited some of my form it would seem. The changes began as soon as you first awoke on Sota, they were very minor at first. But now that I've punished you, they have increased in obviousness dramatically. To put it simply, you will never be mistaken as human again. Now, I'm a busy being, have fun in the waking world and as for your first assignment. You'll find out what it is soon enough."

Chris braces himself as the darkness suddenly closes in on him. He feels himself drifting farther and farther away, until he knows not even darkness.

Chris opens his eyes and sees three young faces directly over his. Upon his opening his eyes all three of them get startled and one of them cries out in suprise as they all scramble backwards. Chris sits up and watches as three young children, he estimates around ten years old, bolt out the rooms door. Chris is confused as he considered the appearances of the three children, however he stopped thinking of the children as he noticed his right arm. He rotates his arm and his eyes widen as he sees a line of black scales, stopping just before his elbow and extending all the way to his shoulder and back. He also noticed that someone had bandaged his chest but that was unimportant to him. He noticed a mirror on a small table a short walk to the beds right and got up to use it to look at his back. Only to stumble and fall as soon as he tried to stand up off the bed. He'd felt weirdly imbalanced as he was standing up and he looked behind himself to see what happened and he just caught a scaled tail flick in and out of his vision. His heart sank to his stomach as he tried to carefully stand up once again. He looked behind himself and could see, coming out from somewhere behind him, a thick black tail covered completely in scales. Subconsciously he noticed that he had a little bit of motor control over the tail and it swept lightly towards where he was looking before swinging back to it original position. He dreaded what else might await him if he displeased Abraxios again, he shivered as he thought of him. He tried experimenting with his control of the tail and as he was practicing singing it he made it do a quick swing and unintentionally smashed the table with the mirror on it. The mirror fell to the ground and broke.

"Ah da... "

He was unable to finish as he had turned to face the table his new tail swung and struck one of the beds legs breaking it clean in two. The beds corner came down with a mighty crash which made Chris flinch in discomfort. Suddenly he heard foot steps and a voice as someone approached the room.

"What is going on in here?"

Chris quickly hops back over to the bed and lies back down in it and acts like hes still unconscious as the door is filled with the outline of a person.
