Chapter 18 - The Truth - Chapter 18

Y/N's POV

As I left Hoseok and Yoongi behind, I went straight to my locker in a rush. "Did I overreact?" I asked myself, feeling a little bit guilty of how I treated the boys when all they wanted was trying to help me…I think. As I got to my locker, without thinking anymore of these incidents that happened to me earlier, I grabbed my design books and went straight for my class that was about to start in a few minutes.

The class was quite empty, and there wasn't much work. It was a theory session, therefore I been sitting and listening to all that boring story of one of the professional art designers and their first ever invention of their design work. It's not like I didn't like the course I was studying, it just that today everything seemed to be moody and grey to me to the point that I just didn't want to listen to anything. Instead, I wished to go home.

Hours passed, and I didn't even realize how quickly it got dark from the window beside me. The sun was vanishing further and further until the sky became dark blue. As I stopped looking at the window, I noticed some students started to leave the class, yet I stayed in my seat, and watched everyone leaving. I wanted to leave too, but I felt extremely unmotivated to be crowded with all of these students, therefore I waited for everyone to leave.

I stayed on my seat for five minutes longer, and very soon the whole atmosphere seemed quiet and dead. My teacher approached me and talked politely, "Y/N? It's time to go home, I'm about to close the classroom"

I nodded and went outside the room, slowly walking back to my locker to get my house keys. I looked around, and the halls were mysteriously empty. "I never seen this building that empty…" I thought. As I turned my head towards my upcoming locker, I noticed someone was standing beside it…

"You again!" I said loudly yet without any echo.

The black silhouette was leaning against my locker, looking at me with a terrifying smile. I got little goosebumps, and wanted to run away as soon as possible, but another side of me resisted. "What do you want!" A sudden attitude came from me as I said with a brave tone.

The silhouette slightly came towards me a little and had the same ring on its hand. "Do you want me to wear it?" I asked as I made one step forward to it, however…the creature stopped. It turned around and started to walk away from me slowly, and I followed it.

As I was following it, I didn't feel right about it, but I wanted to deal with all of this ring history once and for all…so it will finally stop bothering me. I didn't pay a lot of attention to where I was going exactly since my eyes were full on the creature, until, I felt someone's presence nearby. It was Jimin, who was standing on front of me, seemed like he was rushing somewhere and at the same time surprised from my sudden appearance on front of him. "Jimin…" a sudden voice came from my mouth before I thought of it. He looked to the side where the creature was standing, and his eyes widened in a quite shocking way. "Um…" I felt confused, "Can he see it too?" I thought.

Jimin put his hands to his pockets and clenched his jaw as he turned his full body towards the monster. "Jimin, do you see something?" I asked unsurely, yet I didn't get a reply from him.

"Jimin hello?" I spoke louder, "Do you see the same silhouette that I'm seeing?" I asked and then regretted. I felt like I should've stayed quiet because I might be the only once seeing the creature with the ring, but at the same time Jimin's mysterious behavior seemed like I wasn't the only one seeing it. "No way…but how come others can't see it then…" I thought, felt speechless and confused. I was lost in my thoughts again, until I heard Jimin murmured, "Y/N, what were you trying to do?"

"Huh?" I quickly asked.

Jimin didn't say anything after, and instead he grabbed my hand and pulled me to somewhere. "Jimin, let go of me!" I suddenly squeaked, yet he held my hand even tighter. I looked back and spotted that the creature was gone. "Huh? Where did it go?" I asked myself. I looked around, and there was no sign of the silhouette together with the ring.

Jimin got me out of the building and let my hand go. He stepped on front of me, facing me eye to eye. "That's kinda close..." I thought as I felt a bit uncomfortable and stepped back a little.

"What an earth were you thinking Y/N?" his angry tone appeared that stuttered me a little.

"I…" I lost in words and wasn't sure how to reply to it. This all was quite unexpected, and his strange behavior made me feel even more lost.

Jimin continued waiting for my answer, clenching his jaw even more. "Why is he angry for..." I thought, feeling trapped, but escaped from my thoughts for a little and replied to him with a confidence, "I assume you saw the creature I was following, while others seemed to not have that kind of ability like yours"

Jimin patiently continued listening to me as I was continuing my speech, "Since you and your little friends are hiding something from me regarding to the ring and that creature, I was ready to find out the truth on my own" after that, Jimin's eyes widened as he aggressively swept his hair back and messed it up a little.

"Y/N, you don't understand, if we told you this thing isn't safe, you shouldn't be following to the danger" he said with a calmer tone.

"Oh really?" I raised my voice without realizing, "Then what's holding you back from telling me the whole story?"

Jimin stayed silent yet continuing looking into my eyes. "How can I know if it's dangerous, if none of you can tell me the reason why its unsafe" I continued as sighed in frustration, "I will find out myself whether it's dangerous or not, if none of you want to tell me what's really going on" I added.

I was ready to leave, until I heard his voice again, "It will kill you…"

I turned around to look at him as he was standing and looking aside. "Huh?" I asked, "What do you mean?"

Jimin looked at me and walked closer. "Have you forgotten? The nightmare you had back in a hallway about a month ago" he said with a little bit deep yet calm tone, and then he added "If not for me, you would've stayed in there forever, is that what you want?"

"Jimin, I don't unders-…" I unsurely murmured yet he interrupted me and spoke, " I might not be around to save you again, and the little friends you call aren't capable of doing such a thing like I did" he paused for a few seconds, and then finished his line, "here's the truth that you wanted to hear."

Jimin then backed away and started to walk back to the building, but I quickly ran to him and grabbed his hand. He stopped but didn't glance at me. "If that's the case, why couldn't you tell me this sooner?" I asked, desperately waited for him to turn back at me yet stayed calm too.

"I told you enough" Jimin said calmly, stayed in the same position, "now let go of my hand, I have things to do".

But I continued holding his hand even tighter, which made him to turn back at me in confusion. "Y/N, I said let go of my hand" he repeated and this time with a slightly deeper voice, yet it with a sweet tone as well.

I decided to let his hand go, and he continued walking to the building. I watched him going away, yet a part of me was telling me to follow him as if I would find more answers about the ring. I waited him to disappear from my sight, and then went to the building.

I watched him going upstairs in a rush, so I followed him there too. I was scared that I could bring a noise since the campus was empty, and Jimin would hear me and turn around, however luckily Jimin was only looking forward. Eventually, on the last floor he reached a classroom that was located somewhere by the furthest corner, and took a deep breath before going in. He seemed nervous when he reached the door, I wonder why. As soon as he entered the room, I quickly ran to the door. The door had no window so I couldn't see what was going on inside the room unless I open it. "What am I even doing..." I thought and was ready to leave until I heard a quite loud yell from someone in the room, "Jimin, I'm so disappointed at you!"

I came closer to the door and leaned my ear close to it. I heard quite a lot of chatting…and some voices that sounded familiar. "I feel like I heard these voices from somewhere…" I thought, until, something surprised me. The people in that room seemed to have a conversation about me...
