This ship had light in them, but not warmth. The decorations were beautiful but not inviting. In total, this place or spaceship or whatever it was was not at all humanly almost alien-like.
Celestina could practically hear Emily's fast breathing as the doors they came through just closed. She whipped her head in the direction of the door at an inhumane speed that she was afraid she would sprain her neck.
She heard a high pitched laugh from behind her. She turned to see Edward. Before she could even speak she heard Emily mutter, "I trusted you". Realizing the culprit couldn't hear it, she yelled the same sentence much louder this time. This made Celestina make a mental note to never get on Emily's bad side.
Jayden stepped forward with his right arm outstretched and his palm facing Edward like Iron man shooting from his repulsor. "Who are you? And why are you doing this?" He questioned. Celestina shot him a confused look.
She was bewildered since Emily and Jayden claimed that this guy was their lost best friend moments ago and now one of them questions him as if he is an imposter.
She looked at the right time to see all the colors drained out of Edward's face, he looked scared and...regretful? But he was laughing mere minutes ago...
"L-look, j-just hear me out, p-p-please." Edward stuttered out, scared.
Celestina 's eyes softened at his scared reaction for some anonymous reason. Jayden was about to yell at Edward but she waved her hand motioning him to stop and stood protectively in front of her best friends.
"You have one minute to explain yourself, Pasten." She said sternly.
"I am sorry," He started to speak, "but I am not Edward Pas-" "I knew it," Jayden yelled, making "Edward" stop abruptly.
"I knew you could never be Edward," Said Jayden, turning towards Emily "But you believed him right away, Em. Couldn't you see it? He doesn't have his ring - the one Alesha gave him - which he used to have all the time no matter what."
Celestina was slightly puzzled about this since other than his name she knew nothing about this "Edward" guy. And she had completely no idea who this "Alesha" character is. So, she stood there, in front of her friends, in a protective stance.
She desperately wanted to see the reaction of Emily and that's exactly what she did. She was quite satisfied when she saw the look of regret and guilt on her best friend 's face. Though she felt bad, she quickly dismissed the feeling when the series of events that occurred in the past 45 minutes had come back to her thoughts.
She had a mix of emotions pass through her: anger when thought about the way Emily acted towards her, sadness when she thought about being in the shoes of Emily (that poor girl, had just now got her best friend back and it turns out that is not him), guilt when she thought what she was thinking few ago and for some odd reason a thought popped into her mind: If this is not Edward...then where is the real one?
