When this thought occurred in her mind she whipped her head towards the direction of the imposter.
"If you are not Edward, then where is the real one?" She questioned her thoughts. She could see that guy backing up. So, to make it more intimidating or dramatic she walked forward.
They backed up until he hit a panel, she decided not to move any further close to him as it might be dangerous, so she stood there looking at him in the eyes. She was taken aback and slightly confused when she saw him smirking. Before she could register what he was going to do and react; he had already pressed the button. And that, ladies and gentlemen, was when she knew she did a pretty dumb mistake.
She looked around to find anything unusual happening to the ship; instead, she felt rumbling below her feet which sent vibrations causing them to shake vigorously.
Emily let out a shriek and held onto Jayden's arms trying to keep herself steady. Jayden was trembling slightly; she looked at his eyes and they were filled with terror, and right then and there she knew he was keeping up his form for them and she felt a sudden blossom of respect towards him. He in some ways reflected her brother Chase.
This made her furious; she turned towards the-so-called Edward and took hold of his collars.
She was definite that even if she saw herself in a mirror she would be scared. The look in her eyes was filled with anger reflecting what she was feeling inside. To be honest, she was not feeling angry, she crossed that line ages ago, now she is furious and this type of rage could only be controlled by Chase, as far as she knew.
"What are you doing and why?" she demanded. He pried her hands off of his collar and moved away from her.
The vibrations stopped, she was quite relieved. But that was when she felt a much worse feeling...she felt herself fly in the speed of light into the atmosphere and tumbled towards a wall holding herself upright having a mild anxiety attack. Throughout the entire time, the imposter stood in the corner with his back turned against them, unscathed and staring off into space as if he is exhausted with the number of times he has experienced this feeling.
For the next two minutes, she was trying to regain her composure and once she succeeded she looked at her companions and found her friends in the corner of the ship holding onto each other and calming them, in a fraction of second she was by the sides of her friends.
Emily looked at her, her eyes filled with fear and regret. Before she could speak anything Celestina stopped her and looked at the impersonator.
As if on cue he turned around to look her dead in the eyes.
"You want to know what and why I am doing this, don't you?" he asked, "I will explain but before that," he held out his hand for her to take it.
"I need you three to come with me, I need to show you someone," he said in his high-pitched voice "How bold of you to assume that we will trust you even after everything that's been happening." She said quite aggressively not forgetting the fact that he literally kidnapped them in a spaceship.
He winced at her tone before calmly replying: "Just come with me I promise I will not hurt you and you can completely trust me. I will explain to you everything after it"
She desperately wanted to decline it but somehow her guts said to believe him for the one last time. "Fine" she reluctantly agreed, trusting her instincts.
She turned towards her friends, "Stay here," she said soothingly afraid she would break Emily's fragile form, "I will go check out what it is and call you. Is that clear?" she asked. Emily nodded grimly not wanting her best friend to risk for her. Jayden caught her wrist, "I don't think it's safe for you to go alone, Celestina. I will come with you." "No, Ch-" she stopped herself before she could complete her big brother's name, remembering she was not talking to her brother; which made her quite sad, "Jayden, it's alright, I have got it under control. Besides, I think it's safe for both of you to be here." To be honest with herself Celestina had no idea how she had the situation "under control".
She smiled reassuringly at them. Then stood up and nodded at the guy who "kidnapped" them
He led her slowly further into the ship letting her marvel the interior of the spaceship. There were a couple of identical rooms on either side of the aisle they were walking.
The doors had a detailed carving of a circle in the heart of a star and a square trapping them both inside it. Beneath those symbols, in each of the doors, there were different alphabets imprinted. But on one door, instead of an alphabet, a number was written: No.666.
He brought her to the farthest room in that aisle and beckoned her to enter.
What she saw was worth paralyzing her. She stood there staring at the figure lying peacefully on the bed she stood in front of.
"To answer your first question: Here is the real Edward." He announced.
Celestina looked at the real Edward and back at the fake one, again at the real and back. It was almost terrifying at how accurate they looked. Not even Edward's parents could differentiate them, then how can she.
"I think it would be better if you bought the rest two of your companions here," the fake Edward said.
She muttered a 'yeah', turning around still in the awe of how precise the two looked and went to fetch her friends and brought them to the room where their real best friend Edward resided.
They were in much greater shock than Celestina was. Emily's eyes were wide and she had a hand clasped over her mouth; muffling a 'What?'. Jayden was looking back and forth to the real and the fake Edward, his eyes wide almost the size of a saucer.
If this happened in a much different situation she would have burst out laughing hard.
"It seems that this one in here is your real Edward," she said, walking towards the bed, kneeling to take a much closer look and find at least one difference, "let's give it a check."
To her absolute bewilderment, his face looked exactly like the imposter, even the place where the dirt was, his sharp jawline, a little scar on his left eyebrow. Gods, they even wore the same shirt. Her jaw dropped. She was staring so intently at Edward that she didn't even notice Jayden come next to her.
"Close your mouth," he closed her dropped jaw, smirking "or else you will catch flies." "Shut up, Lume"
He nudged her shoulder, wiggling his eyebrows. Celestina oblivious to what this boy was saying, scrunched her eyebrows in confusion. She heard a giggle coming from the other end of the room. Puzzled on the actions of the duo, she shook her head and turned back to face Edward.
That's when a thought entered her mind. 'Didn't Jayden say about a girl and the ring she gave to Edward' she wondered.
"Hey Jay, you said something about this one girl giving a ring to Edward and him wearing it always. Can you check whether he has it now?" she asked him.
"Oh, yeah." he moved to the other side of the bed and examined his right hand and shook his head. Then, he pried open Edward's clenched fist.
He raised his hand showing a platinum ring with a heart in the middle of it and what seemed to be swords' hilt on either side of the heart.
"That's the ring Alesha gave him, isn't it?" Emily asked who moved to sit on the edge of the bed. Jayden chuckled hoarsely, "yeah"
"Can you wake him up?" Celestina raised a question to the fake Edward standing in the corner of the room.
"Yeah, one second," he said. He searched the room for something and finally found them in a drawer at the bedside. It was a vial containing some liquid in brownish-green color.
He poured the nasty-looking liquid in Edward's mouth and waited for a few minutes until there was a gasp of breath from him.
He shot up straight and gasped for more air. Only, Celestina was able to come out of the shock fast, the rest two remained stunned for a few seconds. She reacted quickly and helped him sit properly out of basic human courtesy.
But she had an anonymous feeling in the base of her heart, that the alliance with this boy could be quite...difficult.
The moment he sat properly he checked his right hand and found it empty, rage passed through his eyes for a second and he looked up and glanced at each one of them.
His eyes watered at the mere sight of his best friends, he opened his arms; Celestina found this as her cue and got up to let the best friends have a proper, real reunion.
Emily wrapped her arms around Edward and Jayden wrapped his around both of his friends. Edward's body racked with his sobs. Emily rubbed his back soothingly.
After his breakdown, he pulled away from the hug and immediately Jayden handed him his ring back. His eyes showed that he was more than happy to have his ring back. His face broke a small smile. And looked at his friends and peaceful silence took over them only to be broken by Celestina.
"Oh, and Mr.Fake Edward will you answer the rest of my questions?" She asked him. Not knowing that she just enraged the beast within Edward at just the sight of the impersonator; she stared at the fake one for answers. And what happened next was just blur: she glanced at Edward, he marched towards the look-alike and punched him square in the nose without even a small warning. She flinched at his actions.
"Edward!" Emily cried out. "Don't worry, Em." he said, not removing his eyes from...well, himself, "I am not gonna kill him-" "Neither will you be able to" the boy in front of him said.
She looked up at fake Edward, let's be honest, she freaked out; the way he punched should have at least caused a bit of blood oozing down his nose, but this guy was completely normal.
The imposter chuckled and walked forward and stood directly in front of them nearby the bed.
