"Good morning, Yuu," said a low-tone voice.
Yuu rubbed her eye and saw a well-built man lying down beside her on a bed.
"Hiroki?" asked Yuu uncertain.
"Yes, Yuu. Good morning." Hiroki kissed Yuu's forehead and got up.
"How can you move? I thought I commanded you to stay in the bedroom." Yuu got up and her gaze followed Hiroki while he walked to the closet and took out a gray cardigan.
"Hm? Oh… I broke the command," said Hiroki, averted his eyes while wearing the cardigan.
"Where are my parents? Didn't the Peace Faction's people come? Why am I in my bedroom? Aren't I suppose to be in the Peace Faction's laboratory?" asked Yuu, confused.
Hiroki took another gray cardigan and headed toward Yuu. "You must still be dreaming. Your parents did come, but you sent them back after you have a little chat with them." He helped Yuu sat down on the edge of the bed and covered her with the cardigan.
"Really?" Yuu touched her head, tried to remember what happened but couldn't get any glimpse of it. Suddenly, she felt pain on the right side of her neck. She took a peek on the mirror beside the bed and saw bandages wrap around her neck. She lightly touched her neck and asked, "This thick bandages… What happens to my neck?"
"Your neck? Erm, Actually, after your parents left, the Peace Faction people came in to make a fuss, and you injured your neck when trying to deal with them," answered Hiroki while averting his eyes and lightly scratching his cheek.
"Can I take a look at my wound?" Yuu tried to open her bandages, but Hiroki stopped her.
"It's better for you to not look at it. You will feel the pain even more. Let it be covered like that," Hiroki kneeled down and gently put Yuu's hands down to her knees.
"...Okay, if you said so," said Yuu, dejected.
"So!" said Hiroki cheerfully. He sprung up from his knees and headed toward the bedroom's door. He turned around to look at Yuu and said, "You must be hungry, right? Even though it's already this late. Let's have brunch." He turned away and headed toward the kitchen.
Yuu glanced over and saw the clock; it showed 10:57.
"It's so late." Yuu stood up and headed to the living room. "I wonder Jer would be mad if I arrived this late," mumbled Yuu. She stopped in front of a bookshelf and stared at it.
"What are you doing, Yuu?" asked Hiroki. His voice can be heard loud and clear from the kitchen to the living room. However, there was no separation between the living room and the kitchen.
"I plan to go to my research room," said Yuu while glancing over to see Hiroki in the kitchen.
"You should rest!" shouted Hiroki. He abandoned his cooking and rushed to Yuu; he grabbed Yuu's shoulders and pushed her to sit on the dining chair. "You are injured, so take a day off for today."
"Hm, okay." Yuu sat down quietly on the dining chair, and her gaze followed Hiroki, who rushed back to the kitchen and continued his cooking.
The silence covered the room while Hiroki prepared their brunch and Yuu sitting down, nodding off on the dining chair.
"Done!" said Hiroki while turned off the stove fire. He put the plated brunch on separate trays and brought it to the dining table. He placed a tray in front of Yuu and another one across her and sat down. He went back to the kitchen and came back with two glasses of tea; he served one to Yuu and another one for himself.
Hiroki clapped his hands in front of his chest and said, "Let's eat!" He grabbed a pair of chopsticks beside the tray and started to ate his brunch.
Yuu was so confused with what served in front of her. It was a full course of Japanese breakfast. There was a bowl of white rice, a small bowl of miso soup, a small portion of eggs roll, a small vegetable salad plate, and a grilled salmon.
"This is so gorgeous." Yuu took a pair of chopsticks beside the tray and poked the grilled salmon. "It's been ages since the last time I ate fish. I even forgot what they taste like."
Hiroki silently watched Yuu ate her brunch. After a few bites, he opened his mouth and asked, "Is this your first time eating a full Japanese breakfast course?"
"Yes!" answered Yuu while happily munched her brunch. She grabbed the glass of tea and took a sip. "Uhm! This is Japanese tea!"
"Yes, It's an Ocha," said Hiroki while grabbing his tea glass and took a sip.
The brunch was filled with a joyful atmosphere, even though Hiroki and Yuu didn't exchange any words. They finished their brunch, and Hiroki cleaned up the dirty dishes and head to the kitchen to washed it.
"Say," said Yuu, suddenly. Yuu turned to face Hiroki, who was washing the dishes in the kitchen. "Where are the earrings that I gave you?"
Hiroki was a bit startled but tried to keep his composure and said, "It's inside my treasure box."
"Treasure box?" asked Yuu, confused. "I believe I told you always to wear it. Why did you remove it?"
"I don't want to lose the earrings, so I keep it safe inside my treasure box," said Hiroki. He quickly finished the cleaning and headed toward Yuu. "You must be tired. Let's go to bed and have a rest." He grabbed on Yuu's shoulder and pushed her to the bedroom.
"Wait…" said Yuu tried to suppress Hiroki's strength, but she couldn't. "I just ate, and I'm not tired at all," said Yuu tried to reason with Hiroki. He rested her down on the bed and covered her with the blanket.
"No matter what, you must rest more to recover from your injury," said Hiroki while brushing Yuu's hair. "Have a nice rest." He kissed Yuu's forehead, and she closed her eyes.
