the woman had managed to come back to her senses after what was 30 seconds of staring into space. Finn had actually gone to stand in a corner while just tapping the walls in the beat of a popular song a bard once sang to him. the woman immediately apologized to Finn for making him wait for her. Finn reassured her that it was fine and even told her that she looked cute, catching her off guard Finn just laughed a bit before asking if he could do the second part of the test.
the woman led Finn up to the second floor and led him to a room similar to the one Marv described to him.
Finn sat in an empty couch and waited for a while before a bespectacled woman came in with a stone tablet in her hand. she immediately apologised to Finn for being late and Finn told her it was fine and she didn't need to apologise to him.
{why are all these people apologising...}
Finn just looked around the room before his gaze shifted to the two women who were talking in a corner. the first woman seemed to describe something with a lot of vigour while the second simply wrote what she heard on a white paper. after waiting a minute the second woman came and sat down on the couch opposite Finn while smiling.
she told Finn everything about the rankings and her role before she asked Finn to place his hand on the stone tablet. seeing no problem, Finn did so and immediately saw a golden ritual circle spread across the tablet until it was the size of his palm, letters that surrounded the edge of the circle separated from the circle and rose into the air forming different sentences.

the women immediately gasped in shock as they read the sentences that were in the air as for Finn...he silently cursed at the fact that his powers couldn't hide his identity from the calculation stone. he tried to play it off by just smiling and making a few jokes. only to be met by silence...I mean who wouldn't?
he was an SS rank! somebody extremely powerful yet rare because the majority of them were hired by powerful politicians as bodyguards or some ended up being imperial guards. there had only been a few SS rank adventurers in history. they just looked at Finn with respect before the woman in glasses let out a short cough.
"Are you sure that you would like to be an adventurer sir? there are several other places that somebody as strong as you could make a good living!"
"it's fine...I want to be an adventurer because my friends are also adventurers and I want to join their party."
the lady was immediately interested as she asked Finn as to who these friends were...just the fact that an SS rank wanted to join them must mean they were extremely powerful, right?. however, Finn wasn't willing to mention their names and simply asked if he could just get his license. the women inwardly sighed before she rang a bell that appeared in her hands. a young man entered and asked what he could do...he was sent with a letter that had all of Finn's stats listed to the town hall to officially get his license.
Finn offered to go with the young man but was told he should just stay behind instead. after twenty minutes of waiting and Finn napping, the young man returned with a small placard that had all of Finn's info listed.
next to his stats were two large SS that were printed in silver colour. the placard had gold linings around its edges.
{a little different to the others' cards but fine...}
Finn didn't want to linger anymore and decided to leave the building so as to meet up with the others. as he left, a few gazes watched his tailcoats sway as he walked.
a specific person was wearing a purple cloak and was drinking a large mug of alcohol. it was a little boy who was around the age of over 35 thousand. he smiled to himself as his white hair covered his eyes and his little arms holding the mug. but to everybody else in the building, all they saw was a floating mug that tipped over a bit when it approached the hood of the person inside. most of them immediately looked at something else.
{well...never thought I would meet a child of Harpocrates here...maybe I should say hi...no...I'll just watch from the side, he seems to have an entertaining life that I can laugh at.}
the boy snickered a bit as he left a gold coin on the table before he followed after Finn. many of the adventurers sighed in relief when they saw the creepy figure leave.
Finn hadn't noticed the person following him and just headed for a cafe that Marv had described for him. he agreed with Marv to meet up there and the girls had said that they would just do a shopping spree around the city. Finn managed to find the cafe and walked inside immediately being hit with the warmth.
some odd glances were aimed at him but then returned to other places. Finn looked around for a bit and saw Marv and Brianna talking at a table. with a wide smirk on his face, he approached the duo while placing his hands behind his back. he stopped at Marv's table and looked at the two. Marv and Brianna immediately stopped their talking to look at the smirking Finn.
"hmm?...what's got you all proud..."
Marv questioned Finn with a slightly annoyed expression. he had been enjoying some precious time with Brianna only to be interrupted by this guy. Finn just chuckled a bit before he took a seat right next to Marv. Finn raised his right hand to gain the attention of a waitress walking nearby. he then ordered for a slice of apple pie with some hot coffee. the waitress having confirmed his order left the table with a smile and as soon as she left Marv asked once more why Finn was acting all proud.
Finn gave a sideways glance at Marv before he simply ignored Marv and started talking with Brianna.
Marv had had enough.
"Hey..."
"hmm?"
"you better tell me what's up..."
"or?"
Marv shrugged and asked Brianna if she wanted to see more of the city. Brianna was immediately excited and nodded her head with enthusiasm. Marv gave Finn a sideways glance before smirking and getting up. Brianna followed his actions and held his hand. just as they were about to leave the shop Finn tried to ask Brianna if she wanted to stay with him.
"no."
immediate response.
Finn couldn't stand it and called Marv back to try and negotiate. only for Marv to turn down all his offers with a smile. Finn then sighed before he removed a small placard from his pocket and handing it for Marv to see.
Marv just smiled until he saw the large letters that were next to Finn's stats.
"HOLY CRAP!?!"
