Coconut pulled into the drive-in theatre and shut off the car. "What's this movie about, anyway?"
---
"I don't know." Blue shrugged. They had parked in the middle of the field with a clear shot of the screen but still far from any other vehicle, they had plenty of privacy which Blue was excited about. "Hopefully nothing as terrifying as the one we saw at the theatres." He shivered. "I'll never get the image of Barbara being consumed by darkness out of my head. Poor Derek, he couldn't cope with the loss." Blue shook his head in shame.
---
"Yeah. Good thing he died too," Coconut said emotionlessly.
---
Blue scoffed. "I guess."
---
Coconut pushed the steering wheel up again to make room and then patted his lap. "Can we cuddle now?"
---
Blue raised his eyebrows. "Me sitting on your lap isn't cuddling."
---
Coconut whined and pressed a few buttons on the console, which made the seats start to recline.
---
Blue sat up and looked at his seat in surprise, not expecting the seat to move from under him. The giant screen flashed black and white and the park lights around the field switched off. "What are you doing? The movie is starting!" He was excited to see a cheesy flashy opening of old black and white movie star characters laughing and kissing on the screen. "It's a romance!" Blue was overjoyed and smiled at Coconut excitedly.
---
Coconut reached over and pulled Blue to him. "I want to cuddle still."
---
"I do too, I was never not down for the idea." He smirked and scooted closer to him. Coconut had made sure there was plenty of room for both of them to snuggle. The movable seats had slowly merged together, reclined halfway so they could lean back together.
---
Coconut laid on his side and wrapped his arms around Blue tightly, snuggling into him and not paying any attention to the movie.
---
"I wonder how old this movie is?" Blue leaned toward the dashboard and out of Coconut's grasp so he could turn the radio to a station a sign said the movie's audio was playing on.
---
As soon as the radio was playing, Coconut pulled Blue straight back against his chest.
---
Blue giggled quietly and laid his head on Coconut's shoulder. Then he fumbled with his own belt to take it off.
---
Coconut only hummed and nuzzled into Blue's neck, littering it with soft kisses.
---
As Blue smiled, he slid off his jeans and kicked them to the floor along with his belt. "It was getting stuffy in here and jeans are uncomfortable to cuddle in."
---
"Pfft. Yeah." Coconut rolled his eyes but let Blue do whatever he wanted.
---
"What? Don't you think so?" He smirked and put his hand on Coconut's waist line, tugging at his sweatpants.
---
Coconut huffed and raised his hips so he could slip his sweatpants off.
---
"See?" Blue smiled and curled next to him while sliding one arm over Coconut's chest and one behind his back so he could hold him while he laid his head on his shoulder.
---
Coconut sighed and pulled Blue closer to him, relishing his warmth.
---
Blue watched the movie and listened to the audio very comfortably. There wasn't anything he wasn't enjoying at the moment and he was so content that he almost fell asleep again.
---
Coconut reached a hand up and ran his fingers through Blue's hair. "Hey, Angel?"
---
"Hm?" He tilted his head up at him, a small smile on his lips.
---
"What's your natural hair color? And why'd you dye it?"
---
"Light blonde. And blue is my favorite color. Also I think it makes me stand out more. Are we just asking little questions about each other now? Because I have a lot on my mind for you."
---
"Sure. That's what dates are for, right?" Coconut smiled at him charmingly.
---
"Mhm." Blue kissed him after admiring his smile. "What's your favorite color?"
---
"Gold."
---
"Very suiting for someone in a band called The Pirates. Your turn."
---
"Hm. What's your favorite song?"
---
"Paris in the Rain. I normally tell people I don't have one though."
---
"Well, your turn now," Coconut said with a mischievous smirk.
---
Blue thought, looking to the side. "What path are you on career-wise?"
---
"What do you think? Me and most of the band are taking that as our main career but if all else fails we all have our own things. I have soccer and kickboxing I can rely on I guess."
---
"Those are all fun things. My look on the future is a little more...sophisticated. Or at least that's how my parents would put it."
---
"You mean your super stressful lawyer job?" Coconut asked with a scoff of laughter.
---
"Yes. I've got a few busy years ahead of me if I want to continue what has sort of...been my goal for most of my life."
---
"Do you actually enjoy being a lawyer?"
---
Blue chuckled. "I'm not a lawyer, I'm studying to be one. And actually, yes. I do. It sounds boring compared to what you are into but I would like to be in court and defending someone's case. I could change lives that way. For the better hopefully."
----
Coconut smiled. "No matter how utterly boring that sounds, if you like it, I'll tolerate it."
---
Blue rolled his eyes but kissed him anyway. By the corner of his eye he saw a familiar silver car pull up next to them. When he saw through the window who it was he pulled away from Coconut and cursed whilst pulling his pants up quickly and throwing Coconut's pants at him as well.
---
Though confused, Coconut tugged his pants back on. "What's wrong, Angel?"
---
Blue whispered in his ear while watching the car from the corner of his eye, "Jackson and Melody just parked next to us."
---
"The windows are tinted, just don't look at them."
---
"But they'll recognize the car."
--
"Do you want to leave or something?"
---
"Well, no."
---
"Then come back. Jackson already knows, there's no point in hiding it."
---
Blue chewed on his lip while thinking. "I guess you're right." But he didn't move from his sitting position, still staring at the car through the window.
---
"Love?" Coconut asked, running a soothing hand down Blue's back.
---
"I feel uncomfortable knowing they're right there."
---
"You don't need to feel uncomfortable." Coconut wrapped his arm around Blue's shoulders and pulled him close again.
---
"Sorry. You're right. Let's just finish the movie. Even if they did know we were here, what could they do?"
---
Coconut smiled and nuzzled into Blue's hair. "Nothing."
---
Blue relaxed into his hold and listened to the movie, turning his attention back to the screen. A few minutes later a kissing scene was playing on screen and Blue was growing extremely excited in Coconut's arms. A blush creeping across his face.
---
Coconut was watching the movie out of the corner of his eyes while he placed kisses up and down Blue's neck.
---
Blue smiled and turned his head toward him. "How come you weren't this eager to kiss me in the movie theatre, hm?"
---
"I like scary movies. And it didn't have a romantic aura."
---
Blue frowned. "I had been waiting for you to kiss me during the one and only romantic scene in the entire movie."
---
Coconut snorted. "I didn't feel it. I knew they would both die. Why would I kiss you then?"
---
"You better stop talking and kiss me while you still have the chance."
---
Coconut leaned his head up and gave Blue a loving kiss.
---
Blue grabbed Coconut's head and deepened the kiss and then turned himself around, straddling him again.
---
Coconut moved his hands to Blue's hips and rubbed in hard circles, licking Blue's lip as he did so.
---
Blue moaned softly and smiled while kissing him, forgetting all about Jackson and Melody in the car next to theirs. Blue opened his mouth for Coconut to explore
---
Coconut smirked and slipped his tongue into Blue's mouth happily. He wrapped his arms all the way around Blue and pulled him as close as possible.
---
Blue shoved his arms beneath Coconut's shoulders and around his back, holding him just as closely. As Blue kissed him harder, he felt a desire for more urging his hips to rock back and forth.
---
Coconut moaned into the kiss. He slid his hands down to Blue's lower back and helped his movements become rougher.
---
Blue pulled away for air and then moaned lightly, pushing his lips onto Coconut's again. He felt himself growing hot and rigid.
---
Coconut kissed him until he needed air again. "Here?" he asked Blue, panting.
---
Warmth spread through Blue. overheating his face and turning it a deep shade of red. He gasped, mainly from his lustful kissing and shook his head no immediately. "Not in the car in some random park." The radio was still playing sound from the couple in the movie, it sounded like they were fighting.
---
"Well you seem like you want it quite a lot." Coconut bit Blue's neck lightly.
---
Blue breathed in his ear. "I do."
---
"Then what are you waiting for?"
---
"To be in bed with you." He responded almost immediately. "I don't want my first time to be anywhere else."
---
Despite wanting it now, Coconut smiled. "Good. That's what I want too." He kissed Blue softer than before, more filled with love than anything.
---
Blue kissed him back and then said, "I'm starving."
---
"What to get out of here and go eat? I know a couple of good places you might like."
---
"Yes." But he kissed him harshly first, as if he were trying to spend the rest of his love as fast as he could before they stopped for a while.
---
Coconut pushed into Blue just as hard before parting and chuckling at him. "Alright, now get off me. We're gonna go to my favorite restaurant."
---
"Your favorite restaurant wasn't that ridiculously expensive one?" He moved off of Coconut. "Which, by the way, that guy told me it cost 200 dollars just to get a reservation there. And we showed up in casual clothes! Coconut! 200 dollars! Me in a soccer jersey and you in sweatpants! Really?!" As he talked to him in his angry tone, he strangely felt a smile stretching across his lips which he tried to rub off of him but he couldn't so he shook his head and looked away instead.
---
Coconut only laughed. "It's alright, Blue. A reservation like that isn't too expensive. Not really. But anyway, no, that restaurant isn't my favorite. The one I like most is more similar to a fast food joint than anything else," he said with a sheepish smile.
---
"Really? You're- a millionaire you said. And you eat at fast food joints? Not what I would be expecting from you. But then again…." Blue sighed and sat back in his seat after he had raised it back to its original sitting position and after it had scooted to its position next to the door. "I don't know, you're full of surprises."
---
"Haha. I wasn't raised a rich kid, you know. I grew up mostly switching from place to place. Fancy food wasn't all that common for me. To be honest, the only times I ever eat at expensive places like that is when I have an important company meeting that I have to impress for or something else to do with business. Ugh." Coconut raised his seat back up as well and started the car.
---
"I'm glad you're not a stuck up brat. You never let the money go to your head." He said as they left the park.
----
Coconut chuckled and drove to his favorite restaurant, Dairy King. "I haven't been here in a long time, even though it's my favorite place to eat at," he said as he pulled into the parking lot.
---
Blue's eyebrows raised and he laughed. "Yeah, it's alright."
---
Coconut stepped out of the car and motioned for Blue to join him.
---
Blue smiled and stepped out. "Guess I can say goodbye to my personal chauffeur forever." He jokingly smiled and grabbed Coconut's hand.
----
Coconut smiled too and tugged him to the door, opening and stepping inside with a large grin. But that grin immediately fell when he saw who was at the counter, his body completely freezing up.
---
"What?" Blue looked up at him and then where he was looking. "Who's that?" Blue worried. If Coconut was afraid then everyone should be afraid.
---
"What a surprise! How are you, Coco?" The stranger smirked and leaned over the counter with his arms crossed, looking Coconut up and down. "You changed quite a lot, babe."
Coconut just stared at him, only managing to utter, "K-Kal… wh-you-I…" His eyes were wide with panic and his breathing started to speed up.
Kal's eyebrows raised. "What's wrong, silver? Still got doe-eyes for me?"
---
Blue rolled his eyes and groaned. "Is this an ex or something? We should just go."
---
"Oh, leaving so soon, Coco? I thought maybe you'd like to catch up," Kal purred, his smirk widening when Coconut whimpered. He rested his chin on his hand, staring at Coconut with half-lidded eyes. "I bet your ass is just as tight as it was last time."
Coconut shrunk back and looked away submissively, not saying anything.
---
Blue's grip tightened on Coconut's hand and glared viciously at who he assumed was an old boyfriend. "Hey. Quit hitting on my boyfriend and get back to your low-paying job."
---
Kal sneered at Blue and then looked at Coconut again. "You got a boyfriend, huh? Wonder if you love him as much as you loved me."
Coconut squeezed Blue's hand, needing reassurance. He was unconsciously, slowly backing away.
---
"Coconut, you don't have to take crap from this guy. Let's just leave."
---
Coconut didn't move at all, still frozen as if Blue didn't exist. Tears welled up in his eyes, getting ready to fall.
"Really, babe? This guy? You could do so much better, like me for instance. I'm free tonight if you wanna have a repeat of the last time."
With that, Coconut broke. His tears fell from his eyes and he whimpered loudly.
---
Blue let go of Coconut's hand and stormed furiously toward the guy behind the counter. "Hey! I said shut your filthy mouth before I call your manager. Leave Yuno alone."
---
Kal tilted his head, his smirk still plastered on his face. "I am the manager. Little silver does whatever I tell him to, right Coco?" he asked, turning his gaze to Coconut's shaking figure.
Coconut's breathing sped up even more and he lowered his head further.
---
"That's it. I'm not going to take this jackass's load of bullshit anymore." Blue grabbed Coconut's hand and pulled him out of the building. "What happened in there, Coconut?" Once they were in the parking lot, he turned to him with his hands on his arms.
---
Trembling wildly, Coconut didn't answer, just stared past Blue in terror, as if replaying a memory over and over in his head. Which he was.
---
"Snap out of it! Coconut, what's wrong with you? You're scaring me!"
---
Coconut made eye contact with Blue until suddenly flinching and bowing his head aggressively, closing his eyes as if bracing for something. "Pl-Please d-don't hit me again!"
---
Blue's face softened and his grip relaxed. His voice suddenly tender. "Coconut, it's in the past. It's over. Whatever kind of relationship you had with that guy, it doesn't matter anymore. Don't let him get to you."
---
Coconut shuddered and blinked at Blue a few times. "Bl-Blue?"
---
Blue looked at him sincerely. "That guy's real bad isn't he?" Something rolling behind Coconut caught his eye.
---
"Y-Yeah…" Coconut nodded slowly.
---
"Just forget him. He's not worth the time and effort freaking out over him." Blue then let go of Coconut and picked up the rolling something he saw on the ground. "But he is worth the revenge game." He smiled evilly and shook the spray paint bottle.
---
Coconut shook his head. "Y-You shouldn't… he gets really mad when someone tries to do things other than his way. He'd find a way to get back at you."
---
Blue laughed, already walking away from him. "Get the car started, Coconut, we'll need to get out of here fast."
---
"No, please. Blue, don't." Coconut looked at him with a small amount of fear in his eyes. "I don't want to make him angry again."
---
Blue turned around as he walked backward toward the front of the building facing the street. A perfect canvas. "He can't do anything to you, Coconut. I've made up my mind. Better get the car running. You don't want me going to jail, do you?"
---
Coconut hesitantly turned around and got in the car, starting it and putting his shaky hands on the steering wheel.
---
Blue lifted his shirt over his nose as he sprayed the building wall with thick ugly red paint. He was trying to move quickly and efficiently before the jerk inside noticed.
Blue was just finishing the last letter and then stood back laughing to look at his artwork.
EAT HERE IF YOU LIKE ASSHOLES.
Then he tossed the paint can and ran to Coconut's car, opening the passenger door and jumping in, laughing the whole while.
---
Coconut stayed silent while he sped off, quickly pulling out of the parking lot and racing down the road.
---
Blue picked at the red dots of paint that had rained down on his shirt. "This stuff doesn't come out does it?" Then he noticed Coconut's somber silence. "Coconut, calm down. Nothing is going to happen. We'll be fine. Admit it, that was fun."
---
Coconut didn't answer at all, too lost in thought. He narrowly avoided hitting a car and even then he hardly reacted.
---
"Coconut!" Blue jumped. "You're really out of it." Then he thought about what Coconut had told him last night and then what the guy at the restaurant had said. His eyes widened and his chest was bursting with a new rage. "That was…the guy wasn't it?"
---
Coconut made no attempt to reply, staring blankly at the road in front of him and nearly hitting another car.
---
"Coconut!" Blue's heart was racing. "You wanna pull over and talk? I don't think you should be driving right now."
---
Coconut slowly pulled over onto the side of the road and stopped the car. As soon as the car was turned off, he scooted back in his seat and pulled his legs to his chest, still gazing into nothing.
---
Blue stared at him, boggled, for a while. After giving him a moment of silence, Blue asked, "That was really unlucky of us to run into him."
---
Coconut nodded, a solemn look falling over his face.
---
Blue clenched his fists and glared at the road. "That monster."
---
Coconut looked up slightly and then over at Blue. "...why didn't you listen to me?"
---
Blue looked at him again. "What?"
---
"He's going to get angry…" Coconut whimpered.
---
Blue rolled his eyes. "Honestly, I couldn't care less. I was controlled by Blaize, I do not want to be controlled by anyone else. I hope that little shit is pissed off."
---
"Bl-Blue… he isn't going to go for you… he's going to go for me…"
---
"How?" Blue shook his head at him and turned around in his seat to face him. "I think you are worrying over nothing. He can't hurt you, Coconut."
---
"Yes, he can." Coconut was shaking in fear.
---
"How? Coconut, he's just hurt you enough to make you think that." Blue put his hand on Coconut's arm. "This isn't like you."
---
Coconut flinched and jerked away from his touch, once again bracing himself. "St-Stop touching me!"
---
Blue pulled his hand back, deeply hurt, and feeling a new rage for the person who changed his boyfriend. "You're not...acting like the Coconut I fell in love with."
---
Coconut looked at him, hurt. Then he looked away in shame, putting his legs down and holding his face in his hands. "I-I'm sorry Blue… I… I lied when I said I hadn't seen him since we first got together a long time ago…"
---
"What are you- ok. So there's more to this awful person that I don't know about? What's been happening between you two?" His voice sounded more concerned.
---
Coconut sighed. "It started when I was fourteen. My mom had died and I met him in one of my classes at the beginning of the year. I guess he saw me as easy prey. He was a senior and took an interest in me when he overheard that I had just lost my mom. The first time he talked to me, he complimented me every chance he got and was really charming. It made me happy and because of that, crushed on him. The more time we spent together… the more I was falling in love. After a few months, we were kind of in an unofficial relationship. He would kiss me a lot without any warning, kind of like Blaize would do to you. And I let him. Because I loved him and… and I thought he loved me too. When I first said I loved him, I'm pretty sure he started taking advantage of me more. He made me go farther than kissing, even when I didn't want to, and if I refused, he would hurt me. The only reason I didn't leave was because I was blinded by love, and I didn't think anything was wrong. After I said I didn't want to have sex with him, he got more violent. It was like that for a few weeks and just when I was going to break up with him, he tricked me into sleeping with him by saying he loved me for the first time. I was so happy I let him do whatever he wanted. Basically, he took out all his frustration on me. He didn't listen to me at all but I dealt with it, because… I loved him. When I woke up the next morning and he was gone, everything he owned and any trace he ever even went to school, erased. I was heartbroken and I realized he had been using me the entire time. I barely made it through all that."
---
Blue tried to calm him down. "You didn't lie to me. I thought you meant you had continued to see him after he- that night. I'm very sorry, Coconut. I was in a similar relationship with Blaize, it wasn't as abusive but I know what it feels like to think you love someone and then have them hurt you. But the most important thing that you have to realize is it's over. I swear, that guy won't be able to hurt you again."
---
"Blue, that wasn't all. That was only the beginning." Coconut looked at Blue sadly.
---
"...oh…But you said you never saw him again?"
---
"No. That's what I had lied to you about. I saw him again. Several times."
---
Blue sighed softly and rubbed his forehead. Now he didn't know what to say. Blue leaned back in his seat. "I'm sorry Coconut. I really care about you, I do. But it hurts me to know you could let someone do this to you."
---
Coconut sunk into his seat. "...I'm sorry… he just always seemed to find me when I was at my weakest… and every time when I woke up, and he was gone, I was ashamed that I let it happen again… I guess my feelings for him always seem to cloud my judgment…"
---
"You're telling me you still have feelings for him?"
---
"I-I…" Coconut looked away and out the window.
---
Blue stared at him in silence for a long time, not believing what he was hearing. "What?" Blue furrowed his eyebrows. Then he opened the car door and slammed it, walking down the sidewalk of the street they had just driven down, towards town.
---
Coconut stared after him with a look of panic. He's leaving. He's leaving. He's leaving. Coconut's breathing became ragged and while on the brink of having another anxiety attack, he stepped out of the car and yelled after Blue, "Why are you leaving?!"
---
Blue whirled around fuming. "You lied to me? Is that what you meant? You lied to me as in you don't love me?! Because that's what it sounded like!"
---
"No! I do love you! Please!" Coconut leaned onto the car, struggling to get enough air into his lungs. "D-Don't… l-leave…"
---
Blue was blinded by his own raging emotions. "You always say you want me to stay….what if...what if I don't want to? Honestly Coconut, I don't know who you are anymore. You let that guy get to you. I know he hurt you. I know you want me to stay. But you just told me you still have feelings for that…" He was too infuriated to come up with an insult. "I don't want to be with someone who only wants me to stay to lessen the pain of not having someone who keeps running from them. That's all I am, I feel like I'm just a replacement." He turned away again, feeling cold and hot at the same time all over.
----
"You're not a replacement! Kal can't be replaced! Neither can Maven! No one I've ever loved could ever be replaced! Just like how you can't be replaced!" Coconut took a gasping breath, still trying to calm himself down. "You do lessen the pain! But that's because I love you! I get that you might not want to stay! I'm broken, problematic, fucked up!" He slid down against the car and asked more quietly, "Why can't I love you all? What's so wrong about that?"
---
Blue turned around on him, spitting mad. "Are you kidding me? That is the most selfish thing you have ever said! I want to be the only one you love. That's selfish too but at least it makes sense. Because you can't have everyone, Yuno." Blue walked away shaking his head and yelling while furiously wiping away tears. "I thought you were different. I thought you were perfect."
---
"You think I don't know I can't have everyone?!" Coconut threw his head back into the car. "Everyone I've ever had is gone! What's selfish is not trying to think about from my point of view! I've lost almost everyone I have loved! Why don't you understand that just because I love someone else, it doesn't mean I love you any less! Do I have a limited amount of love?!"
---
Blue didn't want to hear him talking about other people he loved, he continued walking away, blocking him out by shoving his fingers in his ears. Then he hollered, "I am so glad I never let you have sex with me!"
---
Coconut sucked in a breath, trying to keep himself from breaking down. Why? Why? Why? Why does this always happen? What is wrong with me? Why does nothing ever last?
---
Blue walked through the dark, furiously cursing at himself. I can't believe I fell for this again. It seemed everywhere he went, he met someone new, and once he got close, they only ended up using him. Just forget him. He walked on through the night refusing to cry and wiping straggler tears from his eyes. He made it back into town, avoiding the street that would take him to Dairy King and walked into a gas station and at first headed for the bathrooms, but then he saw a small table sitting outside the men's room and plopped himself down there, crossing his arms and glaring at the table like it was picking a fight with him.
----
Coconut took a long time to calm himself down before he got out his phone and called Blue, only hoping he would listen to him.
---
Blue felt his phone vibrate in his pocket and was instantly relieved. He knew who was calling and he hesitated about picking up. He decided he didn't want to talk at the moment so he just let it ring. Happy with the fact Coconut was still trying for him. On the last ring, he couldn't take it anymore, knowing he must be hurting him so Blue softly groaned and pulled it out of his pocket, answering the call and putting his phone on the table, leaning over it and looking around, glad no one was nearby to overhear anything. The place was empty and the old lady at the counter looked like she was sleeping. "What?"
---
"Blue, please hear me out…"
---
"Fine. You have one minute." He wanted Coconut to tell him everything that was on his mind so maybe if he felt rushed he would say the truth. But honestly, Blue wouldn't mind listening to him all night so long as he didn't say anything stupid to make him angry again.
---
"Look, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you upset… it's just… I don't understand why I can't love you and all the other people I've lost. But really, I do love you, Blue. Really. When I said I still had feelings for Kal, I meant it, but… he isn't real. I fell in love with his facade, not the monster he really is. And even though I do keep you around because you help all the pain… I'm not using you. I love you, I really do. I don't know why you love me back. I have nothing to offer you except my problems. Like this. I'm sorry, Blue…"
---
Blue was quiet for a second, processing but also purposely dragging out the suspense for Coconut. "You love me because I ease your pain."
---
"No. You ease my pain because I love you."
---
Coconut strung a bow and an arrow flew straight through the iron bars and into the heart they contained. Blue sighed, accidentally revealing how shaky from emotion he was. He spoke strongly. "I fell in love with you Coconut, because you made me believe you were strong and caring at the same time. I thought you were someone who would fight back and protect me. You did exactly that yesterday. Now, when dealing with your own enemies, or with your past, you break down. And that scares me because I don't know how I am supposed to help you." Blue stood up, holding the phone to his ear as he spoke and walked through the aisles, needing his feet to be moving while he spoke so he wouldn't break down and cry. As he walked down the last aisle leading to the door, he passed a small bouquet of roses and his heart clenched with wishful sorrow.
---
"I can't fight back against someone I love. Though I don't love Kal, not the real him, I can't fight against him because he already won when I was still fooling myself with my feelings."
---
"So why are you letting him get to you? That's exactly what he was trying to do back there, and you only let him win again." Blue sounded frustrated as he left the gas station. Then he plopped down on a cold bench next to the entrance. "And stop. saying. you love him. You don't. You said so yourself. So if he isn't real and he's just a faker, leave him behind and move on. Even if it's hard."
---
"I-I… don't know if I can…" Coconut said hesitantly, guilt lacing his tone
---
"You have to." Blue was trying his hardest to make him understand. "It's only going to hurt more if you don't."
---
Coconut was silent for a long moment. "I-I'll try my best," he finally stated. "For you."
---
Blue was heaving with sweet relief. "It's going to help you I promise."
---
"Thanks…" Another long silence. "H-Have you forgiven me?"
---
"I was mad at you because I thought you meant you loved that conceited jerk instead of me who was obviously- I mean, I am trying my best to be someone you can open up to and be comfortable around to share your feelings with as cheesy as that sounds. So when you said you had feelings for someone else that's what freaked me out. I thought you were using me so I ran off. I'm sorry. You're right, I should have looked at it from your point of view, this was totally unfair of me. I just couldn't sit in the same car with you once I thought you were lying to me this whole time about loving me. You have lost a lot of people, it must have given you a real scare when I left. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have. But...there's still something else that bothers me."
---
"What is it?" Coconut asked in a panic.
---
Blue jumped when he heard a roll of thunder and then saw lightning crackle across the sky, pouring down rain. It all had started so fast, or maybe Blue had just been oblivious to the signs of a storm approaching. He said slowly, ignoring the heavy fall of rain that was quickly soaking him. "Imagine...Me, Maven, and Kal. You can only have one. That's what pisses me off when you say you want to love all of us because obviously, you can't."
---
"Wh-... why would you make me choose? Do you know how hard and painful that choice would be? I just don't get why you won't listen to me. If you had three brothers, wouldn't you be able to love them all? As much as possible, equally? What is different?"
---
Blue rolled his eyes and shivered from the rain. "But we're not your brothers, Co- Yuno. You're playing with my heart strings when you say you love me and then…" He sighed. "Nevermind. It can't be changed anyway. That's what bothers me."
---
"Why does it bother you? The Kal I fell in love with isn't real, and Maven is dead," Coconut said sadly. "What are you so afraid of?"
---
Blue erupted on him. "Because if Maven were still alive, you wouldn't be with me! We wouldn't be sitting here right now talking about this because you wouldn't have saved me from Blaize at his party, and you wouldn't have taken me on any dates, and you sure as hell wouldn't be kissing me! All because you love someone else. That sucks, Yuno. It hurts to think about." He was choking on emotion at the end of it. Blue flinched as a car pulled up in front of him, blinding his eyes with its headlights.
----
Anger consumed Coconut. "What is your problem, Blue?!" He yelled. "It doesn't matter if Maven was alive because he's dead! And he isn't coming back! You're worried that I'll leave you for someone else that I love, but I can't! I can't. You keep thinking up all kinds of stupid scenarios like if Maven was alive. Well, guess what? He isn't! Stop focusing on the 'what if's and start focusing on the what is!" Coconut hung up and hit his head on his steering wheel, upset at how he blew up at Blue.
---
Blue was shaking his head and crying slightly, he opened his mouth to say he was right, but then looked at the phone angrily when he saw he had been hung up on. "He did not just…"
"Blue?!"
Blue looked up at the person who had stepped out of the car and slammed the door shut. He couldn't tell who it was in the dark. But when she stepped into the light, he was surprised.
"M-Mom?"
