Blue's car door clicked and so he turned around to Coconut when he couldn't open the door. He raised an eyebrow. "Coconut? Why did you lock my door?"
---
Coconut only smiled and started driving away from the dorms. "Because we're going somewhere."
---
"What?" Blue put his seatbelt back on and confusedly looked out the window. "Where?"
---
Coconut shrugged with a sly smirk and didn't say anything.
---
"Tch. Okay." He smiled and then looked out the window.
---
Coconut drives for a little while longer before stopping and parking on the side of the street in front of an ice cream shop. He gets out and walks to the sidewalk, motioning for Blue to join him.
---
Blue stepped out of the car and closed the door, a cool smile on his lips. "Oooh, I see." He played it nonchalantly but on the inside, he was screaming for joy. He walked closely next to Coconut, falling on his arm and gazing up at him. "This is a date."
---
"Mm, how'd you know?" he asked with a loving smile.
---
Blue looped his arm through his. "Hm. You're very charming." And they stepped into the shop, a small bell rang.
---
Coconut smiled at Blue as they walked in. "What flavour do you want?"
---
Blue looked at the menu and his face fell. He stopped in his tracks.
"Hey there, what can I get for-" the girl at the counter was texting on her phone, not paying a lick of attention. She had her long blonde hair in braids which looked good, Blue admit, in the pink and white outfit the shop made her wear. When she looked up, she immediately tucked her phone in a pocket and then smiled hugely. "Heeeey, I know you twooo."
Blue's grip on Coconut lessened and he almost pulled away but he didn't want to offend Coconut or give him the wrong idea.
"So, Angel? Was it?" She asked, but Blue could see the evil look in her eye. It was the girl from the bleachers.
"Uh, no." He hoped his immense blush wasn't as noticeable as he feared it was. "I told you that was my last name."
She folded her arms, raising a brow at Yuno and looking him up and down. "And you're here with that guy you totally aren't into? The one you just met?"
"Um-"
"I don't think it's normal behavior to walk into an ice cream parlor hugging the arm of someone you called a stranger."
"I didn't call him a stranger." Blue unleashed a stern glare.
"Geez, calm down, I'm just messing with you." She folded her arms.
---
"Blue? You alright?" Coconut asked, a little concerned because of Blue's behavior towards the girl, whom he, like before, completely ignored.
---
Blue didn't respond, just blushed- as he always does.
"Hey, Yuno. You're a looker as always. Still single?" She folded her arms and twirled a braid, fluttering her eyelashes.
Blue tightened his grip on Coconut's arm. "Chocolate." Blue spat. "I'd like a small chocolate cone."
She glanced at him but otherwise ignored him.
---
"I'll just have a small vanilla cone. Thanks," Coconut said with a polite smile.
---
The girl dropped her braid with a small frown. "Ok, then. Two scoops or one?"
"One." Blue said.
---
"Two."
---
"Any toppings?" The girl asked.
"No." Blue glared at her back.
---
"No thanks," Coconut answered, oblivious to the feud currently going on.
---
When she turned around she held the two ice cream cones out to them. "Here you go. $2.44." While she was turned around she must have unbuttoned her blouse because it was flying open and her cleavage was in plain sight for Coconut.
"Oh my god." Blue rolled his eyes and took both the icecream cones, glaring at her the whole time.
She looked at Blue from the corner of her eye and smirked, winking at Yuno. "You didn't answer me, Yuno. Are you dating anyone? Because I overheard you talking about the boxing match downtown and it just so happens that I'm going to be there. I was wondering if we could meet up?"
---
This time, Coconut was able to tell she was obviously attracted to him and had to restrain himself from flinching in disgust. He forced his face to remain neutral and flashed an emotionless smile. "No, I'm not dating anyone." He said, handing her the money and struggling to not roll his eyes. "But I'm already going with some people and I can't meet up. Sorry."
---
"Actually." Blue interrupted and cleared his throat. "I'm going with him...Oh, but I guess you already knew that since he said so at the game."
The girl gave him squinty hate-filled eyes. "Blaize will be there too. Maybe I should tell him you're going...wait a second, isn't he your boyfriend, Blue?"
----
"No, he isn't. Blue broke up with him, and now he's dating me," Coconut snapped at the girl, wrapping an arm around Blue's waist and pulling him close. "If that's all, we'll be leaving. Bye." He glared at the girl and started walking away, pulling Blue with him. Then he stopped and looked back at the girl. "Oh, and by the way, I'm gay."
---
The girl stared after them with her mouth hanging wide open.
Blue hadn't blushed so hard before, and neither had his sense of pride been so strong.
---
Coconut pulled his arm back from Blue's waist, taking his ice cream and opting to hold his hand instead. "Where do you want to go next?"
---
As they walked out of the shop, Blue couldn't stop staring at him. "I don't know but just kiss me first."
---
Coconut huffed in amusement but pulled him in for a kiss anyway. "And you call me needy."
---
After kissing him long and lustfully, Blue looked at him like he was his superhero. "Thanks for standing up for me."
---
"Yeah, sorry for not noticing she was flirting earlier. I would have said something then but I never really care when girls think I'm attractive," Coconut shrugged and smirked at Blue. "To be honest, I've liked boys as long as I can remember. Never cared for girls. Too thirsty."
---
"Hm. Can't say I've had my share of thirsty girls, but I can agree. Ever since watching Mission Impossible I was hooked on men. That was when I was seven."
---
"Haha," Coconut said with a smile, then his eyes turned curious. "How many men have you dated?"
---
Blue smirked. "More than you can count," he stuck his face in his, his voice teasing and then walked farther down the street in front of him.
---
"Really?" Coconut asked skeptically. "You don't seem like you've had that many relationships."
---
Blue looked back at him. "All secrets will be revealed once we find a place to sit down to eat that ice cream. They're both melting by the way." He said, staring longingly at the vanilla cone.
----
Coconut quickly searched the area and set his sights on a flower shop across the street. He pointed to it. "How about there?"
---
Blue saw where he was pointing and blushed, giving him a knowing look and a smirk. "Okay." they crossed the street, looking both ways first because they were raised right. It was a nice day so there were a lot of people out walking down the street visiting shops, a lot of cars and bikes too. Once they made it across, Blue sat at one of the green wire mesh tables and put his elbow on it, resting his head on his hand staring at Coconut.
--
Coconut smiled back and started to eat his melting ice cream while looking at the flowers and trying to decide which bouquet Blue would like the most.
---
"Knock knock." Blue smiled.
---
Coconut tilted his head. "Who's there?"
---
"Yuno."
---
"...Yuno who?"
---
Blue cocked his own head, smiling as he pretended to be confused. "You know who!" He laughed.
---
Coconut smiled. "Clever, Angel. Clever."
---
"I thought so." Blue looked at his ice cream boredly, rolling it in his hands.
---
Coconut noticed and arched an eyebrow. "Are you going to eat that?"
---
Blue looked up with his eyes and then sat up. "Oh...mmm. I'm not a fan of chocolate. I only asked for it because I freaked out at the counter when she was pissing me off. It was the only thing I could think of to make her stop talking to you."
---
Coconut chuckled and took the chocolate ice cream cone from him, handing Blue his own vanilla one, which still had another scoop left. "Here, take mine."
---
Blushing immensely, Blue took it delicately. "Really? Thank you." He stared at Coconut with flirtatious eyes and then lifted the cone to his mouth and slowly licked the top of it, never leaving Coconut's gaze. "Mmm, I love vanilla." He licked his lips. "But this is an awful date, you know."
---
Coconut didn't stop looking at Blue's lips as he asked, "Why?"
---
"Because you've spoiled my lunch." He took another long lick off the top of the ice cream cone. "We haven't eaten anything except waffles and ice cream."
---
"Hm… I guess you're right. Do you want to go to dinner with me later?" Coconut asked, still staring.
---
Blue raised his eyebrows, taking a bite from his ice cream. "Of course. What are you staring at?" he teased, knowing full well what he was doing to him.
---
"Nothing," Coconut answered flawlessly, though he was still very obviously watching Blue.
---
Blue gave him a skeptical look and continued to eat his ice cream, though less seductively. "You asked if I've dated anyone else before Blaize…" Blue was looking across the street at not particularly anything.
---
"Yeah. You don't have to answer, I wasn't dying to know," Coconut assured, looking at Blue with a small smile.
---
He looked back at him. "It's not personal or anything. I've just-" he blushed. "Obviously haven't dated….at all really. I had a pretend girlfriend in middle school...that was...interesting. Then there was that Chase kid from sophomore year that only kissed me as an experiment...Blaize...and now you. I've never been in a real relationship before. Blaize and I never went on many dates."
----
Coconut hummed and leaned forward, putting his head in his hand and his elbow on the table. "Are you a virgin?" Coconut asked, a normal, nonchalant tone covering his curiosity.
---
The lump of ice cream Blue had just been swallowing almost killed Blue when he inhaled by surprise. He turned his beaming red face away from the dazzlingly attractive man and threw away the cone, deciding it wasn't safe to eat the rest of it if Coconut was going to keep embarrassing him like this. "Y-Yuno…" He coughed. "What kind of question is that?" His eyes were teary from the choking.
---
"An honest one," Coconut shrugged.
---
"No. I'm not."
---
Coconut's eyes widened just slightly in surprise. "Wow, really?"
---
Blue looked away, hiding his beaming face in the hand he used to prop it up with on the table.
---
"When? Who? How?" Coconut said, his curiosity unable to be quelled now.
---
Now even his neck was itching in red. Blue ducked his head and rubbed his neck harshly. "Uh….Blaize. Last...month." He couldn't look at him.
---
"Oh." Coconut sat back in his seat, a little disappointed. "How'd it happen?"
---
Blue didn't respond. "Umm. It wasn't good." That's all he could muster.
---
Coconut frowned, now more concerned than anything. "Why not?"
---
"Uuh," Blue gripped the back of his burning neck. "Can we...not talk about it?" He looked up with innocent eyes.
---
Coconut made a conflicted expression. "But… it seems like it bothered you to talk about it… did something happen?"
---
"Yeah. It happened. That's why it bothers me." He got a little snappy.
---
Ignoring his tone, Coconut pressed on. "...does that mean you didn't want it?"
---
"..." Blue looked away. "I don't know…."
---
"You didn't, did you? He forced you."
---
"Um. I guess so." He still couldn't look at him and this moment he was fairly uncomfortable and wished they could move on with their date.
---
Coconut growled and slammed his fist on the table. "That fucking bastard…" he snarled to himself.
---
"Coconut, it's nothing to get upset over. I don't want to think about him right now." He put his hand on his fist.
---
"I… b-but he hurt you…" Coconut protested.
---
"Uh- well. He's done worse things. Let's just move on."
---
Coconut threw his ice cream in the trash and grasped Blue's hands. "Please don't just act like it didn't happen, Angel. I care about you and I want to be sure you're okay."
---
Blue was honestly surprised. Earlier, he didn't think he could fall any harder for someone, but he had obviously been wrong. "Coconut. You're with me now. I'm okay...that was ages ago."
---
Coconut frowned and his face was pained. He slowly removed his hands from Blue's and looked away. "If… If you say so…"
---
Blue sighed. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have brought it up. Now it's ruined the mood." He fell back in his chair, arms crossed.
---
Coconut shook his head. "No. I could care less about the mood. I'm glad you brought it up. Knowing what you've been through helps me understand you better."
---
Blue's interest piqued at the thought Coconut had been paying attention to his behavior and his personality. "How could that help you understand me?"
---
Coconut scratched the back of his neck. "Well it's kind of like how telling you about Maven helped you understand my night terrors."
---
"Oh." Blue nodded slightly. "I don't have night terrors though." He jerked his head back toward him.
---
"That's not what I meant. Since you know about my past, you know why I have night terrors. Since I know what Blaize did to you, I know what not to do and what I need to help you with."
---
"Uuuuh, well it's not what he did so much as who was doing it and- nevermind."
---
"Huh?" Coconut asked. "What do you mean?"
---
Blue facepalmed. "UUUUUGH we're talking about it again." He stood up. "Nothing. I meant nothing." He turned around and leaned against the railing, watching people and cars pass by, the summer breeze ruffling his baggy shirt and blue hair.
---
Coconut stared at Blue and looked at the flower shop. He stood up from the table as well and walked into the flower shop. When Coconut walked back out he held a bouquet of fifteen roses. "Angel?"
---
"It's about time you joined me over here, what took you so-" When he turned around he froze and a wave of red washed over his face. He looked at Coconut and smiled brightly before leaning in to kiss him, closing in but then stopping just inches away from his lips. Then he placed his hand on Coconut's which was clutching the bouquet. He pretended to go in for a kiss but then he pulled away from him and shoved the flowers in Coconut's face, jumping away from him laughing.
---
Coconut flinched backwards, lowering the roses and revealing his hurt expression. "...I was trying to say sorry…" he said sadly, looking away.
---
"Oh, come on." Blue approached him, putting both hands on the railing behind Coconut, trapping him and leaning into his face with a smile. "You shouldn't have anything to be sorry about." He lowered his eyelids and opened his mouth, staring at Coconut's.
---
"But I kept pushing you about Blaize and I made you uncomfortable. You seemed… upset with me," he sighed, his face downcast.
---
Blue's brows furrowed in concern and he pulled his head back. "Noooo. I wasn't upset with you. I just didn't know how to revisit the memory and it doesn't matter anyway because it-" Blue grabbed the bouquet, wrapping his hand around Coconut's. "They are gorgeous. You made me happy but I couldn't resist teasing you."
---
Coconut let out a breath of relief. "Good… I don't think I could handle you being upset with me."
---
Blue snickered. "I don't think you'll ever have to worry about that so long as you treat me right." He raised his eyebrows.
---
Coconut smiled cutely. "I'll try my best."
---
"I'll make sure you do." Blue closed his eyes and kissed him.
SNAP
Blue pulled away from Coconut and looked over his boyfriend's shoulder at a tall skinny man with a yellow smiley face lanyard hanging from a camera he had just taken a picture of them with. "Sorry, do you mind if I take this picture of you and use it for my magazine?" He had a brown beard and neck length nicely groomed hair that flew forward from the wind.
"Uh, who are you?"
---
Coconut wrapped his arms protectively around Blue's waist, waiting for the man to answer his boyfriend.
---
The man beamed. "You two are so cute." He mumbled and then cleared his throat and stuck out his hand which Blue shook. "Hi. Seth Gargle. I work for a magazine company that's trying to promote LGBTQ couples specifically as an attraction to this street and it's shops. I was wondering if I could use this shot I took of you as one of the pictures in the gallery?"
Blue looked at Coconut.
---
He just smiled and nodded at Blue. "Sure. We'd love to help you. You can use the photo."
---
"Great. Thank you." He gave them more information about the magazine and then after a polite chit chat he ran off to take pictures of different shops. He was a very smiley person that left a pleasant impression on Blue.
----
"Oh." Coconut looked up as if he realized something suddenly.
---
"What?" Blue looked up too, wondering if he saw something.
---
"I just realized that if we're in the magazine, people from our colleges will find out we're dating."
---
Blue looked back at him, fear growing in his eyes for a moment. When he looked back to find the guy, he was gone. Blue looked at a slip of paper he had given him. It had an email on it. "We can email him."
----
"I… I feel like we shouldn't though," he said softly.
---
Blue stared at the piece of paper for a moment longer and then threw it in the trash. "Yeah, ok." Acting based on heart rather by reason.
----
Coconut smiled and lifted Blue's chin to kiss him.
---
Blue kissed him back smiling, ignoring the what ifs floating through his thoughts. "Ok." He pushed away from him, grabbing his hand. "Let's look at these shops."
---
"How about you find a shop you want to go into and I'll put these roses in the car."
---
"Good idea." Blue looked around. "I'll be in that records shop."
---
Coconut nodded and walked back to the car and put the roses inside.
---
The shop was called Dude's. It had a sign with blinking red christmas lights on the outside. When Blue entered, a little bell rang. Next to the door was a long wooden counter barraged in small trinkets and bobbleheads of famous singers.
"Well, hello there." A dead inside sounding voice made Blue look up at the guy at the counter. He had dyed black hair that was sort of in a justin bieber haircut except his strands were spiky-like. Reminding Blue of raven feathers.
"Hey."
He was leaning against the counter, his arms folded. A number of piercings lining his ear and one on his chin just beneath the left side of his bottom lip. "The name's Coal."
Blue slowly nodded while looking around, mesmerized by the rows of shelves full of records and music stuff.
"Yours?" He stretched the word out, as if he were saying "earth to Blue?"
Blue looked back at him quickly. "Oh. Blue."
He cracked a smile which Blue thought looked out of character for the grim reaper looking dude. "I could have guessed that with the hair and all."
"Oh. Yeah." He ran a hand through it and browsed through a shelf, picking up a cd case.
"I could also guess something else about you if you'd like."
Blue looked up. "What?"
He held up his hand. "I read palms. Would you like a reading?"
Fascinated, Blue stepped toward him with a beginning curious smile. "Sure."
He held his palm out for him and the guy who looked about a year or so older than him took it and traced his hands over his lines. "Oh my god."
"What?" Blue freaked.
"You're the chosen one…"
"What?" More confused.
"The one from the prophecy." He looked up as if he saw something in the distance.
Blue laughed. "Right."
"Legends tell," He continued. "That a twenty year old boy with blue hair will walk into this shop…"
"And what, save the world?"
"No." He smiled. "But ask me out."
---
Coconut walked into the shop and heard the last few bits and took in the situation. His boyfriend's hand was being held by an emo ass looking boy and he just said to ask him out. Confused as all hell, the only thing Coconut could manage to say was, "The fuck?"
---
"Wha-" Blue snapped his head toward Coconut. "Co- Yuno." He pulled his hand away. "He was giving me a fortune and then uh...it...took a turn."
Coal stood up. "Whoooa." He threw his arms out and spread his hands."The universe is whispering to me…" He pointed at Coconut. "That man right there, is not your boyfriend...is he?" He looked at Blue.
"Uh." Blue had no clue how all this had happened so fast.
---
"Like hell I'm not." Coconut walked up to Blue and wrapped his arms around his waist again. "This ass," he grabbed Blue's backside. "Belongs to me. Back off before you get yourself hurt."
---
Blue's blush looked like a bad sunburn.
Coal's eyebrows shot upward. "Myyyy fortune telling skills were obviously ludicrous then. Sorry about that, today was just not my day." He then looked at Coconut and said casually, "Coconut, I didn't know you were dating again."
Blue snapped his head toward him and then back to Coconut. "You know him?" He grabbed Coconut's hands and took them off, stepping back.
---
Coconut sighed, crossed his arms, and rolled his eyes. "Yes, unfortunately, he's Jackie's brother." Then he said to Coal, "We just started dating, almost no one knows."
---
Coal leaned back in a rolling desk chair and propped his feet up on the counter, pulling a cigarette out of a box he kept in his pocket. "You haven't changed since last thanksgiving. Always taking the good ones before I even get to lay my eyes on them."
---
Coconut huffed. "Maybe if you'd stop shriveling your lungs with those fuckin' cancer sticks you'd be able to catch up."
---
Coal loudly and dramatically gasped as he flicked a lighter. "You watch your mouth mister." He laughed dryly. "You know this ol' crackpot can't help himself." He put the cigarette in his mouth.
---
Gave him an unimpressed look. "Lighter and the pack." He held out his hand.
---
He clutched the pack to his chest. "Hey, you ain't my boss."
---
Coconut gave him a stern look. "Now."
---
Coal retracted his feet from the counter while grumbling and gave him the lighter and the pack of cigs.
---
Coconut nodded and shoved them in his pocket. "Stop wasting your money on these. They'll ruin your life."
---
Coal picked the cigarette from his mouth and blew smoke. "You're ruining my life." He muttered.
---
"I'm just trying to help. But you should take my advice, kid."
---
"No way jose-" he said cooly at first but then his expression and voice switched to something more lovely. "And hey, you're only one year older than me. You don't get to call me kid."
Just then a ginger cat ran through a small flap in the door which Blue had wondered about earlier. "Hey, Cherry." He ran his fingers down the cat's back when it jumped on the counter.
----
Coconut's look softened. "Is she still doing alright?"
---
Coal looked at him harshly. "SSH." And then looked outside. "Don't say that so loud I don't want the kid to know."
Blue immediately ran to the other side of Coconut to pet the cat. She purred beneath his hand and when it looked into his eyes, he felt like he could curl up with this cat and tell it all of his secrets.
----
"She must like you," Coconut said to Blue. He scratched the cat's head a few times before he reached into his pocket and pulled out his wallet. He pulled out a hundred dollars and handed it to Coal.
----
"WHOA, BROTHER!" he picked up the cat, cradling her in his arms. "If you think for one second I'm selling Cherry to you-"
---
"She's expecting kittens, right?"
---
He broke into a smile. "That's right. You're a smart man my friend. How could ya tell?" He joked.
---
"Well, it was either that or she was getting fat," Coconut said bluntly.
---
Coal soothed his cat as if she were a baby. "Sssh, honey. He doesn't know what he's saying." He gave him a harsh look. "Cherry watches her weight mind you."
--
Coconut deadpanned and waved the money he was still holding. "Are you taking it or not?"
---
He raised an unsure eyebrow. "You're giving me that money and entrusting I give you her kittens whenever it is she has them?"
---
"What? No. Use this to buy everything she needs. Kittens and pregnant cats are expensive, man."
---
"Oh, pfft." He put her on the table again. "In that case, no way Jose, she ain't even my cat, she's just a stray."
---
"Then maybe you should adopt her. Cats who give birth to litters in the streets hardly ever are able to keep their kittens all alive. She seems to like you enough."
---
Coal looked at the cat, all humor vanishing from his expression. He folded one arm and put the other on top of it, holding a finger to his chin in thought. "Hm. You know, there's a girl who comes by here who really likes this cat…" He thought. "I'll ask her if she wants to adopt. If she can't I'll take Cherry in."
---
"Still, take the money. It'll help until Cherry is settled in."
---
"Alright, I'll do it...on one condition!" He raised a finger. And sneakily smiled.
---
Coconut shook his head. "Fine. What?"
---
He glanced at Blue. "Your boyfriend gives me a kiss."
"Wha- excuse me?" Blue had been right there the whole time listening in concern.
---
Coconut glared at him. "You know it's your loss only if you don't take the money right?"
---
"You really care about this cat, don't you friend?" He looked at Blue, laying on his fist propped up on his elbow. "Don't you, lovely?"
Blue's cheeks pinkened. "I am not going to do that."
"Hm. Your palms said otherwise."
----
Coconut glanced at the cat and sighed, rubbing his face. "Goddammit, Coal. You son of a bitch. You should quit your job here and go work at Thot Topic."
---
Both Blue and Coal looked at him with eyebrows raised. "At what topic?" They synchronized.
---
"Thot Topic. Don't know what thot means? Well I'll tell you. It stands for," Coconut pointed at Coal. "That. Hoe. Over. There."
---
Coal burst into laughter. "I was only kidding around. Just give me the money already, of course I'll pay for her bills."
---
Coconut rolled his eyes and handed him the money. "I don't know how Jackie puts up with you."
---
He just chuckled his strange high-pitched maniacal chuckle and took the money, putting it in a small box with a purple rock on top of it.
Blue had walked away a few seconds before. He was looking through the shelves of records again. He picked up an old looking Billy Joel one and slightly smiled.
---
Coconut also looked around, but he wasn't very interested in records, that was more Rivet's thing, despite how much he didn't seem like the type to like records. Coconut saw Blue pick up a record and walked over to him. "Do you like that one?"
---
Blue had seen him approach from the side. "Uh, it's nostalgic. So yes."
---
"Do you want to get it? I doubt Rivet will mind us using his record player," Coconut said with a smile.
---
"Can we?" Blue smiled. "Uh, I wouldn't want to invade your music space with my crap."
---
"Please. We have more than enough room for things like this. Rivet has a huge case he made us buy to keep all his records in perfect condition."
---
"Ok then." Blue took his wallet out of his back pocket which he miraculously still had through everything they had been through. Blue set the record on the table. Coal gave him a price and Blue fumbled through his wallet.
---
Coconut shook his head and got his wallet out, giving Coal the money for the record.
---
Blue looked at him. "I had it-"
Coal interrupted. "That'll be $66 with a kiss." He looked at Blue.
"Not that again." He rolled his eyes while blushing and looked at Coconut. "I had it covered."
----
"No, I want to pay for it," Coconut said with a small smile.
---
Blue put his money away. "Fine. Just this one time." He tucked his wallet back in his pocket and then ignoring Coal's gut wriggling smirks and winks he grabbed the record and headed for the door.
---
Coconut waved at Coal and followed Blue. "See ya, Coal. I'll tell Jackie you're a thot."
---
"Good talking to ya. Haven't smiled so much in awhile." His smile slowly shrank into a frown as he watched them leave.
---
Coconut stopped and looked back. He saw a glimpse of Coal's real expression and sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Hey, Angel, head back to the car and wait for me, I have to do something really quick."
---
Blue left the shop, bell ringing on his way out. Cherry left with him. Blue made his way back to the car after petting Cherry. Once there, he leaned against the side of it, glancing at the girl still at the counter in the ice cream shop she was on the phone and when she glanced at him back Blue looked away. Blue thought about how he had never been more attracted to someone. And smiled, thinking about Coconut, clutching his record.
---
Coconut walked back to the counter where Coal was standing. "Alright. Spill. What's wrong?"
---
"Nothing, Coke. I'm always like this." He grumbled and puffed dragon breath.
---
"No, you're not," Coconut said with a frown. "You're… happier I guess."
---
"Heh heh. Getting better, could be better...if I had my own little Blue."
"Hey, Blue!" He turned around to see who was calling his name.
"Oh. Hey, Jackson." He was from the tennis team, they had been friends since Blue started school at their college.
He was with his girlfriend. "What are you doing on this side of town?"
"Uh...I could ask you the same thing."
---
"Want me to hook you up?" Coconut asked, crossing his arms.
---
Coal looked at him. "I thought you'd never ask. Let Blue know I get off at 7." He smiled lazily.
---
"Wow. You are lonely, aren't you?" Coconut asked. "I know someone like Blue, if you're interested."
---
"Do you?" He put his head on one hand and brought his cigarette to his lips.
---
"Yeah. So… want me to introduce you or not?"
---
"Sure." -Coal.
Blue stepped away from the vehicle, hoping they wouldn't see the roses inside.
"Whoa." The girl with long brown hair- Melody said.
"That's a fine car, Blue. Whose is it?"
"It's not mine." He laughed awkwardly and shoved his hands in his pockets.
"Blue…" Jackson smiled looking at him. "Is that a hickey?"
Blue's face erupted into a blush and he pulled on his shirt collar to cover the spot on his neck.
"So you went and finally got yourself a girlfriend I see."
"Aw good for you, Blue."
"Um...sure." He shrugged.
"Can we meet her?"
"Uh. She's probably gonna be awhile...I'll introduce you two later though…"
"Cool. We could go on like a double date. We're free tomorrow. You doing anything?"
"Uh...no. Just a track meet."
"Ok then, we'll see you two at Gino's for dinner? Then maybe we could go to the mall and mess around a bit?"
"Uh...that sounds...good." He sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck.
As Jackson and his girlfriend walked away, Melody called, "See you, lovebirds later!"
Blue politely laughed. Once they turned the corner of the street, Blue sighed. "Oooh no. This is not good."
---
Coconut nodded. "I'll text you later and set you guys up for a date. I think you'll like him." He smiled and said goodbye, walking to the door and back to his car.
---
Blue leaned against the car again, nervously biting his lip and scratching his neck. "Just my luck...Why did they have to come down here anyway?" He was muttering.
---
Coconut approached his expensive car and saw Blue leaning on it, looking anxious. He immediately wondered what had happened while he was gone. "Hey, Angel. Everything alright?"
---
Blue looked up in surprise and made a nervous face. "I'm in deep shit, Coconut."
---
"Why's that?"
---
"While you were gone, my friend from a medical class I'm taking was walking by with his girlfriend and when he saw me we chatted but uh... he thinks I have a girlfriend... he assumed I had a girlfriend anyway and I played along with him, but anyway, long story short, I have a double date with him and his girlfriend tomorrow."
---
"...and he thinks I'm your girlfriend?"
---
"Uh...yeah. I would have told him you're a guy but he was on a roll and this didn't seem like a fitting situation for me to come out to him...not to mention if anyone at my school finds out I'm gay….let's just say, my school is not as accepting as yours is." He tightened his grip on the record.
---
Coconut frowned. "Your school really does suck." He took the record from Blue and opened the passenger door for him. "Come on, get in. This little date of ours isn't over."
---
"Thank go-" He cleared his throat. "I mean, it isn't? What else do you have in mind?" Blue checked the time on his phone as he stepped into the car, picking up the bouquet and holding it in his lap. "It's almost 2."
---
"Yep, and to pass time we're going to the movies," Coconut started driving again and parked only a few minutes later in front of a glorified theatre.
---
Blue stepped out of the car, leaving the roses. "What are we watching?"
---
Coconut smiled excitedly. "It's a new one, I heard it's really scary so I wanted to see if that was true!"
---
Blue pushed back the sour worms of fear wriggling in his stomach. "Uh...that doesn't sound very first date like…" He gave Coconut a small smile but with expectant eyes as they walked through the doors.
---
"Oh… do you want to watch something else?" Coconut asked with clear disappointment, despite trying to hide it.
---
Blue could tell he wanted to see the movie. "No, that's fine with me. I love scary movies." He lied, ignoring his internal protests. As they were purchasing their tickets, Blue tried to pay for himself again.
---
Coconut gave him a stern look. "Stop. I'm treating you today, so I'm paying."
---
Blue stuck his tongue out at him and put his wallet back. "Fine."
---
Coconut smiled and grabbed their tickets along with Blue's hand, dragging him towards the movie. "This movie is gonna be great! It's called Lurking."
---
Blue felt like shivering already, but his hand was in Coconut's so he didn't dare turn back now. "Yeah, that sounds creepy."
---
Coconut hummed happily. "I'm pretty sure it's about this group of college kids like us who get lost in a forest while camping and can't get out. You can't tell the difference between paranoia and real life. Seems cool."
---
Blue gulped. "Yep. Cool." They stepped into the theatre, the commercials blasting. "Where are our seats?" Blue thought, lucky us, there's hardly anyone here.
---
"Way in the back." Coconut led Blue up to their seats, which were situated in a cozy corner.
---
"Whoa, they're huge." Blue said. They were both the size of a lazy boy chair.
---
"Yeah, this theatre is great. They recline too," Coconut smiled and settled into his seat, getting ready for the movie.
---
Blue sat in his and reclined his all the way back and then forward again. "Fun." Once the commercials ended, the movie began with eerie violin music which set Blue on edge but then the movie opened nicely as it introduced the characters. Actually, most of the movie Blue enjoyed because of how unscary it was. As the movie built up to the climax, he found he was very connected with the characters. Mainly because there was a romance stirring between the main two characters which Blue found very entertaining. In one scene, the actors shared a kiss. Blue slowly turned his head toward Coconut but his eyes were glued to the screen, and he seemed bored. Blue stared at him through the whole scene in disbelief. When it passed he grumbled and reclined farther back, folding his arms.
---
Coconut could really care less about the romance between the characters. What's the point in having a romance in a movie where all the characters die? When the movie finally got past the boring stuff and into the jump scares and gore, Coconut was watching intently, figuring things out in his head and barely flinching at the sudden noises and sights. He watched enough horror movies to be used to this kind of thing.
---
Blue at first, had a firm grip on his fear, but once the paranormal activity began, the jump scares were too much for him to bear. He didn't realize how hard he was gripping the arms of the seat. He declined to a sitting position so he could see Coconut and make sure he was still sitting next to him. Blue was shivering and sweating in his seat, his eyes quickly looked away from the screen when the gore began. He tried to cover up the fact he was terrified by moving one hand to scratch his face, but really, he was covering his eyes.
---
Coconut was so absorbed into the movie, he didn't notice how scared Blue was. At one of the more gruesome and sudden moments, one of the secondary characters thought she saw something and stupidly wandered from the rest of the group. The shadows almost seemed to move around her and when she turned around to go back to her friends, despite only taking a few steps, she couldn't see them any more.
---
"Barbara no!" Blue whisper-shouted from behind his hands. "You were so young and in love with David! How could you be so stupid?!"
---
Coconut looked at him weirdly but went back to watching the movie. A terrifying creature rose from the shadows and the moment the 'Barbara' screamed, there was only the sound of ripping flesh and cracking bones as the camera suddenly panned away.
---
Blue covered his face immediately, shaking his head. His shoulders shaking.
---
Coconut still managed not to notice Blue's predicament but he looked over at Blue once the scary music stopped and the characters started wondering what happened to 'Barbara.'
---
Blue thought of that as the last straw. He couldn't stop pretending he wasn't scared anymore. Without looking at Coconut, he reached one hand toward him, and rested it gently on his own.
---
"Angel? Are you okay?"
---
His spirits lifted when he called him by his pet name. He only squeezed Coconut's hand, hiding his face behind his other still.
---
"... are you scared?" Coconut asked softly, his attention now focused on Blue.
---
Blue hesitantly nodded from behind his hand, his grip on Coconut's hand tightened.
---
Coconut leaned over the arms of the chairs and slipped his arms under Blue's knees and back, picking him up and pulling him into his chair.
---
Blue removed his hands, in surprise. "Coconut!" He whispered.
---
"What?" he asked, just as quietly. He scooted over a bit and made room for Blue, setting him down and wrapping an arm around his shoulders.
---
Blue's nerves soon calmed and, and he scooted even closer to Coconut, laying against his chest. Now he could watch the rest of the movie comfortably.
---
Coconut snuggled into Blue's hair, now completely distracted from the movie since his boyfriend was in his arms.
---
Blue's heart slowed in his chest and warmth spread through every muscle in his body. He was so comfortable he could have fallen asleep. But just then, the monster was back and Blue felt like he was living a nightmare again. His heart rate picked up again and his body shivered. He had never been so afraid of a movie before, besides when he was little. He vowed after seeing a Chucky movie with his friend, he would never watch another horror movie again. That was when he was in eighth grade.
---
Coconut saw Blue tense up and he looked back and forth between Blue and the movie, desperately wanting to see the scene but also feeling like he needed to calm his boyfriend.
---
The movie was nearing its end and the grand finale was too much for Blue to handle so he buried his face into Coconut's chest.
---
Coconut frowned and he put a hand on Blue's back, rubbing it to try and make him feel better. He kissed Blue's head and watched the end of the movie, occasionally checking to make sure Blue was doing alright.
---
The movie ended with ominous music fading to black. The lights came on and the only other people in the theatre left immediately. Blue didn't move from on Coconut's chest.
---
Coconut pet Blue's head and quietly asked, "Angel? Are you okay?"
---
Blue looked up at him with a conflicted face. "I don't know...I enjoyed it in the beginning but then it turned horrible!"
---
"Oh… I thought it was a good movie…" Coconut mumbled. He looked at Blue with disappointment. "You didn't have to lie to me, you know. You could have told me you didn't like horror and we could've watched something different."
---
"Oh, no...It's fine. I knew you wanted to watch it so I thought why not. There wasn't anything better playing anyway." He slipped his arms around Coconut's back and hugged him tightly. "Besides...I got to be held by you so, it was better than I thought it would be."
---
Coconut smiled. "I have to admit, it's nice to hold someone."
---
"Hm. It's nice to be held." Blue kissed his cheek and then stood from the chair.
---
Coconut stood up after him and kissed his neck softly. "Do you still want to have dinner with me?"
---
"I am hungry." Blue checked his phone. "Jesus! That movie was nearly three hours long! No wonder why I'm starving. It's almost 5."
---
"Alright then, let's go. I have a reservation at some fancy restaurant or something." Coconut shrugged and held out his hand for Blue to grab. "My Angel," he purred.
---
Blue's stomach filled with butterflies. He interlocked their fingers. "Really? You just happen to have a reservation? Amazing." He said sarcastically, flattered he had planned this.
---
"Only for you, love," Coconut responded with a charming smile. He pulled Blue out of the theater and back to the car. "We're gonna stop and pick up a different car first. Then we can go."
---
"What?" Blue was still holding his hand as they approached the car. "Another car? Coconut! How many cars does one need?" Blue honestly didn't mind but he was surprised at how many cars his apparently rich boyfriend had. Then he thought it was funny that when agreeing to date Blaize it was at first because he was intrigued by how much money he had, also he was charming at first. But Blue had fallen in love with Coconut for himself, not his money. Then he froze in his tracks. Fallen in love? Did he really just think that?
----
"I don't know how many cars someone needs. It depends on the person. I have to pick up this car because it was demolished in a wreck a few months ago and they were miraculously able to repair it. They finished the full repairs a few days ago and I need to pick it up." Coconut let go of Blue's hand and got into the car.
---
"Oh. That sounds really cool, how come you're picking it up? Was it your friend's car or something?" Blue watched Coconut let go of his hand and then step into his car. Blue just stood there, surprised. He stared at Coconut with his eyebrows raised.
---
"No, it's my car. I got in a bad crash a while ago when some drunk brat rammed his pick-up truck into it. I nearly died, but the kid got in a lot of trouble." Coconut stared at Blue expectantly, "Are you getting in the car or not?"
---
"Really? That's-" Blue was shocked to hear the story. "Damn, that's a crazy story." Then he shook off his surprise and walked around the side of the car to the passenger seat while saying in a tone that said he didn't really care, even though he totally did. "Am I getting in? Oh, I don't know, normally you hold the car door open for me so I kinda got used to it, but no matter." He opened the car door and sat in the passenger's seat, shutting the door.
---
"Well sorry, princess, I just thought you would be able to do it by yourself."
---
Blue pinched his arm. "I am fully capable of opening doors myself but you didn't seem to think so every time you opened one for me, so I got used to having my own personal chauffeur. How come you suddenly aren't opening doors for me?" He pouted slightly and folded his arms, leaning back.
----
Coconut snorted in laughter, only revving the engine before taking off towards the auto shop.
---
Blue grumbled to himself. "Only charming when he wants a fuckin' kiss…"
---
Coconut smirked but didn't say anything. After he pulled up to the car repair shop, he parked his car and got out, waiting for Blue to get out as well. "Here, get your stuff. We're leaving this car here. I have to go get the other car. Be safe."
---
Blue stepped out of the car, grabbing the bouquet and record. Closing the door, he muttered loudly. "Be safe? What does he think I'm gonna do? Play with fire while he's away?" He leaned against the car.
---
Coconut talked to the owner of the repair shop for a few minutes, sorting out the last details about his car.
---
Blue touched the soft rose petals, sniffing them every now and then. They were calming. When he got bored, he looked around and then squinted at the car a few parking spaces away in front of him. He was surprised he hadn't noticed it. It wasn't anything special, just a light blue regular car. That's weird...it kinda looks like my car, he thought. His heart learched. That is my car! Blue took a few steps forward but then his head turned when he heard the shop door open. Blaize stepped out of the repair shop fiddling with some keys, looking down, thank god. "SHIT." Blue whispered. And then ran back for Coconut's car, praying it was unlocked. The door opened and Blue took back everything horrible he said about Coconut. He fell into the passenger seat and smashed the button on the side to lower his seat backward. It was ridiculously slow. He angrily cursed out the seats for not being able to move faster. After about ten seconds of laying completely on his back, his heart pounding hard in his chest, Blue slowly raised himself to look out the window. He saw Blaize twisting car keys into Blue's car and then driving off with it.
"That effing…" He watched him leave.
----
Coconut waved and thanked the shop owner, taking his keys and getting his car. He started the engine and it purred softly. He grabbed the steering wheel and felt it. Hell, it's been a while since I was last in this car. Damn thing nearly killed me, he thought with a scoff. Coconut shrugged and pulled out to where his other car was, a little scared when he couldn't see Blue. He parked the car and got out. "Blue?!" Once again, he was on the verge of a panic attack.
---
Blue practically rolled out of the car since the seat was down so he had trouble getting out. "Coconut!" He yelled, practically smashing the flowers on the seat, but the record was fine in his other hand. He closed the door and ran to him.
---
Coconut's eyes snapped to him and immediately became worried. "What's wrong? What happened? Why were you in the car?"
---
"Blaize was here!" He looked angry more than shocked.
---
"Blaize?"
---
"Yes, and my car. I left it at the party, remember? Well, he came out of the shop so I-" he gestured to the car, suddenly embarrassed, "and then I saw him drive off with my car. I think he must have somehow stolen my keys or-" He remembered that one night from a month ago. "Oh no. Nevermind. Maybe he must have had the spare set to my car...but I don't know why he would be here…"
---
"That is odd." Coconut shook his head. "Whatever. I got my car so let's go eat. If we stand around any longer our reservation will be given away."
---
"Okay. Hey wait, shouldn't we dress nicely for that?"
---
"No, it's fine. They might judge us but we don't need to be all fancy smancy," Coconut said while rolling his eyes.
---
"But Coconut. It's proper etiquette!" Blue grabbed his sleeve. "I'd love to see you in a suit." He whispered sexily.
---
Coconut smirked and grabbed the back of Blue's neck, pulling him close. "And I'd love to see you in a dress." And before Blue could protest he slammed his lips onto his.
---
Blue almost immediately snapped at him, but his retaliation instantly disappeared once he was sucked into a kiss. Blue hugged Coconut to be closer to him as they locked lips. They fell against the closed door of the new car.
---
Coconut groaned in the kiss and reached around Blue to rub his hands into his ass.
---
Blue gasped and then his hands shot onto Coconut's. "Quit doing that in public." He kissed him again though.
---
"But you love it," Coconut mumbled between kisses.
---
Blue grumbled. He didn't want Coconut to think so. "No, you love it. How would you like it if I did that to you for everyone to see?"
---
Coconut growled. "I'd hate it."
---
"Oh? Would you?" Blue made a mental note. He snaked his hands around Coconut's waist and reached for his ass.
---
Coconut's eye twitched in irritation. He grabbed Blue's hands before they made it anywhere near their desired location. "I'd hate it because I'm a top. I disliked being dominated in almost any way."
---
Blue squinted. "So are you suggesting I'm a bottom? Because I am most certainly not." He pulled his head away to give him a sophisticated look.
---
Coconut gave him a look. "All I'm saying is that in this relationship," he pulled Blue closer again and groped him. "I'm the top."
---
Blue smiled and rolled his eyes. "Sure you are."
---
"Oh, Angel, I'm completely serious. Would you like to find out later tonight?"
---
Blue's face reddened and his eyes widened. Then he shrugged. "We'll see...maybe so."
---
Coconut smirked. "A maybe is a yes in my mind, love."
---
Blue's blush creeped down his neck and itched into his ears. He struggled to keep his cool. He cleared his throat and put on a refined look. "I meant maybe as in...it depends if you can impress me."
---
Coconut hummed and leaned down to Blue's ear. "Then you better prepare to be ravaged tonight," he growled sexily.
---
Blue fell into one more long kiss with him before pulling away and walking around the side of the car to his door. "It's been awhile since we've kissed. I guess the longer the wait the more greedy you are about it."
----
Coconut huffed and got into the car and started it. "You're the one who kissed me."
---
Blue sidled into his car seat and shut the door. "Are you kidding me? No I didn't. You did before I could say anything." He put his seatbelt on. "And by the way, I would never wear a dress."
----
"Doesn't mean I can't imagine," Coconut said with a smirk, driving his hella expensive car to the restaurant.
---
"Pfft." Blue blushed. "Such a pervert…" he mumbled. Then he gripped the seat when they took off. "Wow, this is fast."
---
"Fastest production car in the world," Coconut said nonchalantly. "And I am not a pervert."
---
"Says the guy who slammed me on the hood of my car and rubbed his crotch against my ass when we first met." Blue said casually. He couldn't say he particularly disliked that. "Is this really?" He asked about the car, impressed. Looking at it in a new light.
---
"You wouldn't stop wiggling," Coconut whined. He looked over at Blue and smirked again. "And yeah, it is. I can show you." Coconut turned onto a side street and took a few more turns before they arrived at a completely empty street. He turned and went to the end of it before drifting back around and looking at Blue smugly. "Hold on."
---
Blue was shaking his head and clutching his seat belt. "Coconut. I don't know about this. Are you sure you know what you're doing? I mean, how fast does this thing even go, are we going to get in trouble if we-"
---
Coconut didn't give Blue the time to finish blabbing his worries. The car shot forward and within seconds was already at 100 mile per hour. Once Coconut neared the end of the road he slowed down and turned back onto the more populated streets.
---
Blue was leaned forward, gripping the arms of his seat while panting heavily from the adrenaline running through his veins. "Wow…" He panted while smiling. Then he shot Coconut a stern look. "Don't do that again."
----
"Can't. We'd have to go to a drag strip for this thing to have a sliver of hope to reach top speed."
---
"Top speed?" Blue looked at him like he was crazy. "That wasn't full speed." Blue fell back into the seat. "My god, Coconut. You are rich. Blaize never showed off his cars to me."
---
Coconut chuckled. "It's top speed is around 300, I think. But, yeah, I guess I am rich. Blaize has a few million. I'm a billionaire."
---
Blue wasn't trying in the least to hide his surprise. "Geez, how'd you two get so much money anyway?" He ran his fingers through his hair, pulling down the mirror above his seat to check his image.
---
"Blaize is my adopted step brother. Before his mom married my adoptive dad, my adopted mom owned a company but when she suddenly got sick, she left everything she had to me. So, I have a lot of money just from my mom, but she also left me as the heir to the company, I just don't normally run it. I only make huge decisions, but the employees still respect me I guess." Coconut pulled into the parking of a large building with elegant and beautiful decorations. As he pulled in a parking spot, most of the other cars were kind of expensive as well, but none near the cost of his own car.
---
"Blaize didn't get anything? He must have had his fair share of it to explain his own wealth." Blue's heart sped up as they pulled into the parking lot of the fancy restaurant. He paid close attention to the cars around them and the people walking in and out of the building, his heart squeezed in fear and embarrassment.
---
"No. It's kind of confusing. Blaize's mom married my adopted dad after his first wife died, the one that left me everything. Blaize is just spoiled."
---
"Oh my God, Yuno." Blue was frantically running his hands through his hair. He cleaned his glasses with lightning speed and picked at the clothes he was wearing. "This isn't at all acceptable for this kind of place. I can't go in!" Blue looked at Coconut's outfit. "You can't go in either! We have to find some other place."
---
Coconut looked at Blue with adorable confusion. "I think you look fine. Even if they judge you, which they better not, they won't say anything. If they do, well…"
---
"I look fine?" Blue huffed nervously. He pointed to a grandly dressed man walking into the restaurant. "That guy was wearing a tux, Coconut. I'm wearing your old soccer jersey. A soccer jersey." Just saying it made Blue breathe faster in panic.
---
"And?" Coconut asked.
---
"AND?" Blue clenched his fists. "Oooh, Coconut. You're so rich it's almost annoying." He calmed himself down and ran a hand over his forehead. "My parents would never let me go anywhere like this."
---
Coconut studied Blue for a few seconds before opening the car door and stepping out, walking to the front of the car. He pressed a button on his keys and the hood opened smoothly. Coconut rummaged through some stuff before he closed the hood and got back in the car. "Here, if it makes you feel any better, I have some expensive jewelry you can wear. Sorry, but it's the best I can do." Coconut held out a necklace that sparkled in the golden light there was from the pinkening sky. It looked to be made of gold with a larger, glimmering diamond in the center.
---
Blue's eyes bugged and he gasped. "No, Coconut. I'm going to break that thing by accident if you let me wear it."
---
"You're not going to break it," Coconut huffed with a small laugh. "It's made of gold and diamond. It isn't glass, Angel."
---
Blue felt like he was on the verge of fainting. "Coconut, even if I do wear that thing, it's just going to look ridiculous on me. I'm wearing...this. No offense, this is the comfiest shirt I have ever worn, but...this just isn't appropriate for a place like this…Heck, I'm not appropriate for a place like this."
---
"Angel, don't be so nervous. I'll be by your side the entire time." Coconut smiled softly and leaned toward Blue. He gently grabbed the back of his head and pushed it down so he could put the necklace around Blue's neck. When he pulled away he grinned. "See? You look great."
---
Blue's blush was excessive. He lightly touched the jewelry around his neck as if it would shatter at any second. He looked up at him. "Really? I'm wearing what looks like a million dollar necklace with an old soccer shirt and jeans." He lazily tilted his head to the side with his eyebrow raised.
---
Coconut was going to correct Blue about the price, but decided that telling him the necklace was actually worth around 300 million dollars would probably make him pass out. "Yeah. It's cute. You're wearing a necklace as beautiful as you and my old soccer jersey. You look perfect in my eyes. Isn't that all that matters?"
---
Blue's eyes softened as he admired Coconut "You're right…" He leaned in to kiss him but then his look fell into a dubious one and so he pulled away. "Sometimes I wonder if you just say this stuff to make me kiss you."
---
"No, but it's a nice reward." He smiled. "So, you ready to go inside?"
---
Blue kissed him quickly and then pulled away without saying anything. He left the car, feeling slightly braver and more confident but only to immediately be thrown back into a self-conscious insecure whirl again as they approached the building together. "Oh my god…" He said softly while blushing profusely. "I am so not good enough for this...not good enough for this…" He muttered to himself quietly over and over again.
---
Coconut looked at him sympathetically and wrapped one arm around his waist. "Yes you are, and if someone says otherwise they're gonna find out the hard way that I'm not someone to be messed with and neither are you."
---
