Chapter 41 - The Executioner

In a far off kingdom, many years ago, there lived an Executioner. Wandering the streets, with the scent of death in front of them and a trail of fear behind. With their ax, the Executioner cut down many men. Innocent or not, the calling of steel against flesh was always answered. Over the years, the Executioner felled many humans as if felling trees, even the wrongfully accused or the children. If they were convicted, they were sentenced to death. One day, as the Executioner was preparing for an execution, they were captured by the townsfolk. Having grown tired of the Executioner's wanton killing, the people of the town decided to execute the Executioner to put a stop to the violence. But when the townspeople dragged the Executioner to the square to be executed, the Executioner had a change of heart. The spirit of death fled the Executioner, and right when the ax would've hit the Executioner's neck, it fell upon hardwood. The first palm tree had sprouted from the body of the Executioner. And to this day, the palm trees make replicas of the victims that they claimed the lives of, a reminder of their past life. We know these replicas as coconuts.
