Many years ago, there lived a captain of a ship. Good and true, the captain guided her crew and ship to safety many times among stormy seas and dangerous waters. Over the years, the captain and her crew became legendary, catching the eye of the king. The king had made many foolish decisions that led to a disastrous war with another kingdom, and the king requested that the captain and her crew deliver a tribute to the king of the enemy to appease him and stop the war before his kingdom and people were destroyed. Taking on the challenge, the crew departed from a nearby port city and set off into the deep Ocean. Originally, the boat was met with welcoming calm waters, but the Ocean soon grew hostile to the foreign invaders. Large and powerful waves slammed against the hull of the boat, rocking the crew and tossing about the tribute. Powerful storms cast huge bolts of lightning around the boat, electrifying the waters and lighting up the surrounding sky. A bolt hit the center of the boat, carving a giant hole into the center of the boat. The skilled captain tried to get the boat out of the troubled waters, but no amount of skill could save them from the clasp of the Ocean. The crew rushed to patch the hole in the ship, but so too did the Ocean rush to flow into the boat. As the boat began to sink, the captain was struck by another bolt of lightning. As the life left her forever, her dying wish was to save her crew. Her wish was answered. Miraculously, the storm and waters calmed, allowing the crew to patch up the boat and deliver the tribute that ended the great war. And to this very day, the captain watches over those experiencing misfortune, tipping the tables of fate in their favor. We call her Lady Luck.
