Chapter 21 - Chapter 21

"Mummy." Richard cried out. He tugged at her sleeves just to get his attention but it didn't work. He wondered who his mother was talking to because there was no human being in front of her.

"Mummy!" Richard yelled. He was tired of trying to get her attention by speaking softly, so he chooses to yell in her ears. "Ssh." his mother hushed. "You are not supposed to be disturbing me when he is speaking to me."

"Who exactly are you speaking to mother?" Richard asked. "I can't see anyone in front of you."

"You can't see him, but he sees you." his mother said.

"You are always talking to someone mum and I want to know who that person is," Richard muttered.

"The time is coming Richard when you will get to hear his voice as well." his mother chuckled.

"Who the person you are always talking to?" Richard asked. His mother chuckled but her little son wasn't taking it funny.

"Tell me now!" Richard yelled before lifting his mother high above the ground.

"Richard what are you doing?" his mother asked. Her eyes were clouded with fear because of her son's action.

"Tell me!" Richard yelled.

"Okay I will tell but you need to drop me." Richard's mother pleaded. "Please son."

Richard dropped his confused and scared mother to the ground." Richard, do you know what this means?"

"No," Richard muttered.

"You are the one." his mother beamed at him.

"What do you mean?" Richard furrowed his brows. "I'm the one in what way?"

"Raum has arrived. Your demon side is taking effect on you." she chuckled.

"Who's Raum?" Richard asked

"You are Raum."

"I'm Richard, not Raum mum." Richard reminded her.

"Richard to the world but your demon name is Raum." his mother said.

"Demon? Me?"

"Yes, you are a demon, son of the most powerful demon in The Mystic Realms." his mother boasted. "The person I have been talking to is your father."

"My father? I thought I don't have a father." Richard muttered.

"Nonsense." she rebuked. "I've been waiting for the time your demon side surfaces, so I can tell you the truth about you."

"What truth?" Richard inquired.

"The truth of your birth." his mother said before sitting on a couch. "Come sit with me."

Richard sat right next to her. A lot of questions ran through his head, what exactly is his mother saying? Where did this weird power come from? How was he able to lift his mother from the ground? How can he be a demon?

"You are Thogos son which means you are a half-demon, half Firce. You are Raum and one day my son will rule The Mystic Realm, everyone will tremble at the mention of your name, they will be puppets in your hands.

"No," Richard muttered. "I don't want people to tremble in fear when they see me nor do I want to rule over The Mystic Realm."

"Don't say that Richard." his mother placed her middle finger on his lips. "This is your destiny."

"No mum, it can't be." Richard shook his head firmly. "I can't be Thogos, son because he is a demon and also a monster."

"Richard!"

"It's the truth mum. He destroyed Firce a long time ago, and he is evil" Richard grunted.

"My son that's how demons are and it's also how you are." his mother explained.

"I don't want to be like Thogos not do I want to rule over Firce like him. I want to be happy, falling in love and have a perfect family." Richard said.

"Love?" his mother sneered. "You can't love anyone. The type of heart you possess is a cold stone heart, it doesn't know the meaning of love."

The young child stared at his mother. Her words echoing in his ears. Love was rubbish, it was a nuisance in his life.

"You are dark to the core and that's the truth." his mother added.

"Yes, mother," Richard muttered.

"Good boy." his mother praised. "Now go to your room."

"Mum where are we going?" Richard asked. After hearing a lot of things about himself, he planned to sleep on it but it seems his mother had other plans.

"Patience son." his mother chuckled. "We will soon get there."

Richard sighed. One thing that he hated was his mother's mind games.

"We have arrived," she announced before flicking a part of her green hair that partially blocked her face.

A shady looking house stood in front of Richard, the windows were slightly broken and the front door was gone.

"Mum this place looks weird and scary," he said.

"I know that." his mother muttered. She entwined her son's hand into hers. "Let's go in."

The mother and son duo walked into the abandoned building. Richard trembled with fear while his mother laughed. She was feeding on the fears of her son, and they were so delicious to her.

"Mum, what are we doing here?" Richard inquired.

"Just watch and see," she replied before stopping in her tracks. With extended hands, she spoke in weird languages that her poor soon couldn't understand. He stared at his mother in a puzzled manner.

"I command you to appear."

Immediately his mother gave that command the ground started shaking and a hideous monster emerged from the ground. It had two horns on the head, wings and scales like a dragon, sharp claws and a long tail.

"Richard I want you to kill that thing." his mother ordered.

"What?!" Richard scared face showed his fear and worry. "How can I kill that thing?"

"Kill it now." his mother's voice scared the living daylight out of him. She pushed her son closer to the monster while her son kept crying his eyes out.

The ten years old boy decided to throw a fireball at it but that only made the monster mad, it roared at Richard before using its claws to scratch his face. Blood gushed out of his wounded face while his mother kept on chuckling.

"Summon your inner demon and let it take charge." his mother commanded.

All of a sudden a strange energy came upon Richard, it felt as if another part of him was in control. With bloody red eyes he absorbed the monster's energy, he was now in charge.

"Yes! Feed on its fears, absorb the energy it posses." his mother said. "Release the darkness in you."

The creature kept on screaming, slowly it was disintegrating before disappearing into thin air.

"Richard my son I hope you can see what you truly are." his mother smirked.

The poor boy simply nodded at her before wandering how he was able to pull such a trick.
