Chereads / The Firce Princess / Chapter 22 - Chapter 22

Chapter 22 - Chapter 22

"Aah!"

Beads of sweats dropped from my forehead. I couldn't see it anymore again, his memories were scary and creepy.

'But you wanted to see them.'

A knock on the door interrupted my thoughts, the bright crystal that was supposed to be hidden was still on my bed. I needed to make sure it is out of sight completely.

"Come in," I announced immediately I made sure the crystal ball was hidden perfectly.

Victoria walked into the room with a tray in her hands, her blonde hair was left loose today which was quite surprising. She dropped the table by the side table so that I could see the delicious breakfast she prepared for me but the meal couldn't take my mind off Richard's memories.

"Morning Annabelle," Victoria said. "How was your night?"

"Terrible," I muttered.

"You slept with the crystal right?" Victoria inquired.

"Yes."

Victoria sighed before folding her hands around her chest. "You saw everything right?"

"Not really," I replied. "But I did see when Richard killed a monster, a horrific-looking one."

"Now you know everything, Annabelle and I hope you are satisfied," Victoria said. Her voice sounded so wooden in my ears.

"Victoria are you mad at me?" I inquired.

"No, I'm not." Victoria raised a brow. "It's just that Richard hates those memories and if finds I showed you he might be hurt and angry."

"I will talk to him about this today," I said. "I'm still surprised that he is half-demon."

"Half demon and half Firce," Victoria muttered.

The image of the green-haired lady popped into my mind, and all I could say is that she is a heartless woman. The way she pushed her son to face such a creature is pure madness, if Richard died what would she have done?

"What's on your mind?" Victoria asked.

"That green-haired woman is so heartless, I can't believe she forced her son to face a creature like that." I fumed. "I mean seriously who does that?"

"Azura does that," Victoria said.

"Who?"

"Azura is Richard mother's name or, so they say." Victoria bit her lips.

"That sounds like a weird name," I admitted.

"It is because she is a witch," Victoria muttered.

"What?" I yelled.

'Witches and Demons, seriously Richard.'

"Yes, Richard's mother is a Firce who sold her soul to Thogos to become a witch and the price was to bear him a son," Victoria explained. "So she got what wanted and Thogos got what he wanted."

I furrowed my brows. He wanted a son but why?

"Why did Thogos what a son?" I asked.

"I don't know," Victoria said. "But I do know that Richard's powers are dangerous to both him and Firce as a whole."

An image of his red glowing eyes popped into my mind, the way Richard destroyed that creature sent chills to my spine. What exactly did he do to it?

"Victoria," I called out.

"Yes, love."

"I saw Richard do something to a creature his mother summoned and what he did is quite puzzling to me," I said.

"Ooh that." she sighed.

"What did he do?" I asked.

"He killed the creature by extracting its energy, that is the way he destroys this that have more power than him," Victoria explained. "That's the most painful way to die because as he extracts your energy you start disintegrating slowly until you turn to ashes."

"Oh my gosh!" I exclaimed.

"Annabelle you have seen everything or at least everything but I want to know something from you," Victoria said.

"You want to know if I'm scared of Richard after what I just saw right?" I smirked at her. Deep down I was quite proud of myself for reading her mind perfectly.

"Yes, you are right," Victoria muttered. "So?"

"To be honest I'm surprised that I'm not scared of Richard even after seeing some of his memories," I muttered. "The truth is that I want to know more about Richard and I want to be there for him as a friend."

Victoria smiled at me, her cheeks puffed out in the most beautiful way I have ever seen. "Thank you."

"For what Victoria?" I inquired.

"For supporting Richard during this difficult time." she grinned before hugging me.

"No problem." I laughed. "But I want to know what exactly is bothering Richard?"

"His past," she muttered.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Richard father's voice is back in his head." Victoria sighed.

"What?" I yelled. "Are you serious Victoria?"

"I wish it was a sick joke but it's not Annabelle," Victoria muttered. "His voice is back in his head."

"So that's the reason Richard has been so distracted," I mumbled. "What prompted his voice?"

"You," she said in a harsh voice

My eyes widened up. How was I the cause?

"Excuse me Victoria?" I raised a brow at her. "How I'm the cause?"

Victoria shut her eyes for a second, it seems like she was trying to keep her emotions together. "I'm so sorry for my voice tone."

"It's okay just tell me how I caused it," I said.

"On the day you were poisoned Richard felt so guilty, he blamed himself for putting you in endanger. I think due to the way his mindset was Thogos took advantage of this and gained entry into his mind." Victoria explained. "The reason Richard is scared is that he might do something harmful to the people dear to him."

'Wow this a complicated story.'

"Richard has a completely complicated story." I breathed it out after hearing what Victoria said. "I will speak to Richard about this."

"Annabelle you need to freshen up and have your breakfast but please don't speak to Richard about this." she pleaded. "Let him open up to you about it."

"When will that be Victoria?" I asked. "I want you to talk to him about it, so he will stop hiding the truth

"Whatever you see fit do it but don't stress yourself," Victoria warned before giving me a watch yourself glare.

"Victoria," I called out, halting her steps.

"Yes."

"Love the new style," I beamed. "You look more pretty like this."

"Thanks, dear." she laughed before leaving the room.

"Richard we need to talk," I said immediately I sighted him in a quiet place.

"Talk?" he repeated.

"Yeah."

Richard folded his arms. "About what? Tell me what you want to tell me."

"Why did you hide it from?" I inquired.

"Hide what?" he asked.

"The truth." I snapped.

"What truth?" Richard.

"Why didn't you tell me you are both demon and a Firce?" I asked in a stern voice. "Why didn't you tell me you weren't a normal Firce and why didn't you tell me you are related to Thogos?
