After breakfast, Lianna took it upon herself to take the dishes and clean them herself. Trying to help Damien with something while she stayed here. The dishes bubbled and clinqued together. Looking to her right she saw Damien looking out the window almost like he was looking for something like an answer but not with the outside world but within himself.
After finishing the dishes she looked to see that Damien was no longer there, she turned around and went upstairs hoping to find him there but without getting up half the stairs he suddenly burst through the back door. How did he leave without her noticing?
"come out here I wanna show you something"
She ran down to catch Damiens hand as he took her to the most beautiful place, it was a frozen lake with trees that had ice frozen on top of them it was like a cold icy wonderland.
"This is beautiful but I didn't think you-"
"Oh, I didn't I just thought.. you would've liked to see it"
"so you thought of me before yourself that means" Lianna glanced at him with a smirk on her face as she stood in front of Damien.
"ya so and whats with that smirk"
"well its just that you said you were not a nice guy but I would say thinking about others before yourself is a pretty nice thing"
Damien didn't know what to say to that, he patted her on the hand and ruffled her hair
"quiet," he said sternly
Lianna giggled while she continued to look ahead into the frozen forest
"Can we ice skate?"
"well I don't know if the ice is hard enough"
"please please"
"Maybe let me check it out first"
Lianna jumped in excitement as she headed for the frozen lake
"We don't have ice skates you know!" Damien yelled
"I know we can use our shoes!" Lianna yelled back
Damien made his way to the lake after bringing back some blankets just in case the ice broke
He grabbed Lianna's hand and slowly guided her on the ice
"oh ya, Damien?"
"what?"
"I don't know how to skate so your gonna need to hold me"
Damien just looked down at her
"oh can you get some drinks?"
"it'll freeze Lillie"
"not if its hot tea"
"fine"
Damien left Lillie sitting on the ice while he went in to get some drinks
Lianna wanted to try and teach herself to skate, she stood up but kept hitting the ground every try. She wasn't gonna give up though she was gonna try again and again.
But the worst happened...
"Lianna? where are you?"
Damien's eyes widened and his chest pained when he saw that the ice broke. He jumped in the hole and swam further and further down till he got a hold of her arm and brought Lianna back to the surface. He set Lianna on the couch in the house, feeling for a pulse, a breathe anything. She had a pulse but she wasn't breathing she must have got water in her lungs.
He gave her mouth to mouth until she started choking and coughing up the water. He flipped her over so the water wouldn't go back in. Her eyes didn't open but at least she was breathing, Damien ran to get something warm from his cabinet, he grabbed multiple blankets and draped them over her frozen body to warm her up. For once Damien felt an emotion he thought was impossible.. he was scared and for someone else this time, he worried, and knelt down next to her to rest his head on the edge of the couch.
'wake up please' Damien pleaded in his head.
*cough cough*
"Dame- ien huh I'm so weak" Lianna tried to stand up but Damien laid her back down slowly.
"no no you need to rest stay here I will get you some soup"
By this time it was almost 4:00 p.m. When Lianna finally woke up after 2 hours of being asleep.
Time passed, Lianna drank her soup and for what it seemed like it was forever was just silenced.
"look Damien-"
"Save it"
"what's wrong? Damien, it wasn't your fault"
"I don't wanna hear it right"
This wasn't making sense why was he acting this way?
"what do you mean you don't wanna hear it, you act all kind to me and now its like your mad at me, did I do something"
"Why did you have to go ice skating?"
"Is that all you care about?....DAMIEN I almost drowned I could've gotten hurt"
Damien rose from his seat
"that's right Lillie you could've gotten hurt...and it would've been my fault for letting you go unsupervised"
"Im not a child-"
"ya but you didn't know how to skate, and as long as you don't it's my job to look after you so you don't get hurt"
"When did it ever become your job? I am here as a guest"
....
"then I think its time for you to leave"
"Im not leaving, not when your acting like this."
"like what?"
"like your scared, like your blaming yourself for all of this"
Silence ran over them for a while when Damien just made his way to his room.
"do whatever you want I'll be upstairs"
....
Minutes went by, and then hours went by till it was becoming night. Lianna figured he might not be coming out any time soon so she took it upon herself to make dinner.
