As lianna walked through the mansions doors her father patted her on the shoulder as he continued to walk past her not even saying a word. By the time court was over it was time for dinner. The maids were still in the kitchen and the body guard was walking lianna to her room so she can get ready for dinner. Her father came to greet while she laid in bed reading a book while laying on her stomach and her feet kicked up in the air cris crossed.
Her father sat next to her taking the book out of her hands to grab Liannas attention. He sat uncomfortably close to her but not in a sick way, he was simply comforting her in a fatherly hug which she was not used to for it rarely happens. The only question that Lianna kept thinking was why her father would cheat on her mother like that.
"Father?"
"Yes Lianna?"
"Why did you cheat on mama?" "Did she hurt you?"
"No, it was simply that I did not love her anymore" "and thank you for sticking up for me like that at the courts." His grip tightened around her as he continued to say.
"I could've lost every penny if it wasn't for you daughter."
It was almost like he only cared about the money, like he wasn't grateful for his loyal daughter but grateful that she didn't ruin him. What did he start to think about? How far would he go with his own daughters loyalty? For better or for worse.
When Lianna has woken up from her slumber the memories of what happened last night sent a cold tear slowly running down her cheek and was even a little scared to leave the room. The maids came in as they caught Lianna with a handful of tears running down her face. They decided to ignore it and prepare the bath and get her clothes ready for the day.
"Wait! Maid Haley"
"Yes lady lianna?"
She talked to lianna almost like she was a princess and she treated like her one too.
"May I pick out my outfit today my mother is no longer here so I would like to were something of my choice."
"Yes of course but I still need to see it you know the rules in the house"
"Of course"
Lianna was honestly happy that she got to wear what she wanted to for once, even though she would not miss her mother's constant bickering. When she remembered her mother all she could hear was what her father told her last night about how he just didn't love her anymore. What did that mean, Lianna wondered if everyone eventually falls out of love and if there was even a point of it.
When Lianna walked to the table her father was already seated. Her face instantly read confused as she was unaware why he was already there and she wondered what he was thinking about her outfit. She was wearing a light pink cropped top with black high waisted shorts and sandals with small but pure gold hooped earrings and her long light brown wavy hair was put in a high ponytail that met her mid waist. She was dressed like a normal teenager for once in what seemed like forever forever.
She sat down and began to eat her food while silence and awkwardness filled the room. Her father sat wearing a dark blue blazer and white polo with dark blue dress pants and on his wrist was a very expensive silver watch as well and his hair was combed to the left with hair gel giving it a glossy finish.
"Do you have a important meeting today father?"
"Yes I will be gone all day so feel free to hangout with friends. But no friends are allowed in the house I will be having a important ball three days from now. If it goes perfect Mclaren Clothing and Co. will be one of the biggest businesses ever in Tennessee."
"Oh my gosh that's so exciting I hope everything's goes good today"
Liannas heart jumped when she said that lie and wondered if her father knew it was a lie.
