Zack could see the bread in the crate on the back of the truck. He snuck closer using the moving shadows as cover. With his cloak covering his face he had no fear that someone could recognize him. He crept closer to the truck bed and with swift hands he snatched a crate from the bed and ran. Zach had been stealing bread from caravans that passed through his village for months now.
With a screech the truck stopped and the passenger side hatch flung open and the guy inside ran after Zach. The man from the truck was faster but Zach knew the paths of Chapin better and he quickly gained the advantage. It was not long before he had shaken his pursuer and he had run into an alcove between two shacks. With his modeled gray/green cloak he melted into the shadows and was gone.
He had grown up in Chapin on the streets. His family was nonexistent to him for as long as he could remember. Zach had turned 17 a month ago and is living on his own in a government shack that was issued to all people in Chapin; the outskirts of Trillith the capital of Torroth.
