"Okay class, your first quarterly exam is near but before that, I want you to form a team that consists of three to five members. Five is the maximum, I will not see a team that exceeds the allowed number. Now go, after five minutes, I will tell you what you will do." Ms. H said to the class who is excited about the teaming and curious about what will Ms. H say.
"Cooper, you know the drill, you and I are team mates!" Riri exclaimed.
"Okay! Now we have three team members."
"Three? Maybe two because it's just you and I."
"What about Ari? He's also a member."
"Ugh! Fine, even though I don't like him."
"Why do you not like him? Is it because he always said the your voice is loud? Then that means... you don't like me too?!"
"No! Cooper, you're different from him. You're cute and he's annoying, he always scolded me and always a wanna-be-mysterious kind of guy, hmph!"
...when did Ari become a mysterious man?
"Why do you say that I want to be mysterious, Kristine? Have an evidence?" Ari asked, his right eyebrow is raised.
"Well, you're always quiet..."
"That's it? That's your evidence? If you become a lawyer, your client will go straight to jail."
"I...hmph!" Riri puffs her cheeks and looks away at Ari.
"Quiet down class, you're not the only one in this building to yell like that." Ms. H said.
The students lowered their voice but they're still choosing their members.
After five minutes...well maybe it's just four because I have set a timer but, oh well.
"Who doesn't have a team yet? Raise your hands."
No one raised their hands... But one of our classmate spoke.
"Ms. H, Calvin didn't have a team yet."
"Oh? Why is that? Mr. Richards, join someone you know."
"I'm fine on my own." Cal said, his head is covered by his arms that is crossed on the table.
"No, you're not. That's why I said to join someone's team."
Cal can be in our team. It's my thank you gift for him... well he didn't take my other gift so this is the only thing I can do to pay what he did to help me.
I looked at Ari and Riri. "Guys, is it okay if I invite Cal to join our team?"
"I'm okay with that. The more, the merrier!" Riri said.
"If it's what you want, then I agreed." Ari answered...But I want to know what YOU want, not what I want. Ayyy, forget asking Ari.
I raised my hand. "Uhm, Ms. H?" I said.
"Yes, Mr. Myers?" she looked at me.
"Cal can be on our team." I suggest.
""There you go, you now have a team, Mr. Richards."
Calvin sighed. "Yeah sure."
Yes! Hihi!
"Now, all team members should sit together. After that, I will tell you what you will do."
The sound of the chairs sliding on the floor is making my ears hurt listening to them. Now, it's visible to see who's their team or not. We three didn't move our chairs because we're next to each other... but Cal need to come closer to us.
I looked behind me. "Cal! Come here! We're team mates now and Ms. H said so." I said, my hands is waving at him to come closer.
He sighed...he always sigh. Still, he carried his chair and dropped it down next to us then he sat on it and lowered his head to sleep.
Is he always sleepy? Why is he sleepy? How can you study if you're sleepy? Tsk tsk tsk. That's why I always sleep early. What did he even do to sleep late at night?
"Now that you have your team, I will tell you what you will do. You need to do a music video—class be quiet!" Ms. H scolded the noisy students who is still in disbelief because of what she said.
"This music video is about, how can you make a person enjoy learning math. You have one week to finish all of this. I don't care what tactics you will use, but if you didn't do it, you're automatically failed my class, understand?"
"Yesss." The lethargic answer of half of my classmates while some didn't respond and stay quiet, like Cal and Ari.
"Yes! Ms. H!" I responded with enthusiasm. You can't blame me, I reeeaaally think that this will be fun!
"Don't worry, your work will not be in vain. If your music video become my top like, you will be exempted in my test this quarterly exam."
After she said that, my classmates look like they have been revived from the dead. They look motivated. They really don't want to take the math test, huh.
"I will give you five minutes to plan things up." Ms. H said then she leaved the room.
I look towards the three of them. "Sooo, what do we do now?"
"I don't know." Riri said, scrolling at her phone...but it's not allowed to use your phone in class. Ayyy, Riri breaking the rules is a bad Riri. She shouldn't be a role model.
"Uhh Riri, you know that using phone during class isn't allowed right?"
"Yes, I know." she said, still not stopping in scrolling her phone.
"If you know, then why are you still doing it?"
"Because, no one will see me being against the rules anyway. Look at them, they're all using their phone. Do you know why? It's because Ms. H isn't here."
I look at the one Riri pointed. They're indeed using their phones...using it to take pictures of themselves. Sigh. Almost all of my classmates is using their phones, they're not even planning what to do in their music video.
"Riri, can you stop using your phone for like five minutes, please? We need to plan our music video. When will we start filming it? WHERE will we film it? How do we do this? Who's gonna compose the song that we need here?"
"When? After the school ends today. Where? Your house. How? Let's plan it all after we got to your house, okay?" Riri said... Wait, why my house?!
"Why do we have to do it in my house? We can do it in yours or in Cal—"
"Not mine." Cal interrupts me... Okay, not yours.
"Cooper, it's better if we do it in your house. I can eat free foods and you will be safe there. See? It's a win-win situation."
"I agree with Kristine but not in the free food." Ari said.
"What about Cal? What if he's house is far from us?"
"It's not far and I have a car." Ohh...
"It's decided then, we will go in Cooper's house!" Riri said.
