Chapter 85 - It's Okay To Be In Pain

Cally ran towards Leo's room but was stopped in the middle.

"Why?!" She yelled at the nurse.

"Doctor he is going crazy...no one's allowed to go inside." She kept her grip tight.

"Nurse Mable? Where's she?"

"She...is not here. She is missing." The nurse replied.

"I have to go inside!" She yelled and tried to get rid of her grip but instead, she was held even more tight with the help of make nurses.

"LET GO! HE NEEDS ME!" She yelled but no one dared to do so.

Until Ray came,

"Let her go!" He yelled and they got their hands away from her, shuddering in fear.

"Cally you can go inside, I'll handle it here."

"But sir-" Whoever interrupted was glared by Ray.

Can't went inside and was again welcomed inside the darkroom, she felt the same she had felt when she had entered it the first time. She was scared, she didn't know where he was standing and this time the room more good than ever.

She rubbed her arms to keep her warm, "She had said, she'll be back but..." Leo said in a quivering voice from a corner.

"She...didn't come back?" Cally asked casually though she had no clue about who Leo was talking about.

"Everyone left me, and I know you'll do the same. Once you...get the money for dealing with this maniac you'll leave." He chuckled sarcastically.

"No this isn't true, who-"

"Y'all have been so same all this time and I fell for it as usual." He gradually neared her.

"Who told you all this? I'll never leave you, Leo-"

"Enough!" He yelled making her flinch.

He was standing just behind her

"That old woman told me everything, she left me and I know you'll leave too."

Cally turned towards her.

"No Leo..." She merely whispered.

"This isn't-"

"I should've never trusted you. How come I'm so dumb that I fell for the same trap thrice?"

Cally tried approaching him but felt walking in vague directions.

"You have to listen to me first!" She raised her voice slightly to make it stand out.

"What excuse will you give me?"

"I have some questions to ask..." She breathed heavily due to nervousness.

"What nurse Mable said to you? Where did she go?"

"I was sleeping and so I don't know since she was talking to me until my eyes fluttered and I saw her sitting beside my head...."

"I have way more things to say to you but I'll stop now...Meeting you and caring for you was so nice that I forgot my own pains. You filled the vague space in my life, you were someone whom I had to live all these days and....now that you seem to get cured, I feel my work has come to an end. Don't wake up, just keep sleeping else I won't be able to say what I came for."

She gulped, sniffed her nose and wiped her tears, "Goodbye Leo, you were the child whom I adored the most and I'll never be able to forget how you had been a son and have been giving my soul a reason to live. I can't repay the debts I have on you and so I'm leaving without meeting you. Goodbye..."

She caressed his hair and Leo felt the bed beside his head rise a little and after a second the door of his room being closed slowly...

While Leo kept telling his story Cally finally found her way towards the thing she was finding deliberately. At first, she didn't think that he would tell her but now that he is speaking she kept on moving towards the exit door. Today she had decided to lit this room up. He sniffed his runny nose and as he looked up Cally turned the lights on making him narrow his eyes and cover his face with the back of his hands.

"What the heck!" He yelled.

This was the first time Cally had seen Leo, clearly. He was wearing a white shirt and black trouser, nothing so special about it but made Cally's eyes flood.

She kept staring at him when he gradually adjusted to the sudden bright exposure and lowered his hands. His face was as innocent as a baby while his black eyes were slightly wet.

He looked at Cally frowning and avoiding eye contact as she approached him. He looked here and there in nervousness.

"Leo you...were so wrong..." Her low voice was full of pain.

He gulped as he backed.

"Who said I'm gonna leave you?" She said and he suddenly looked up at her.

He blinked and a tear escaped his eye, "You-"

She embraced him in a tight hug interrupting him.

Leo kept looking at her black hair while she kept hugging him, she was quietly crying. Again, for someone else. Her tears soaked in his shirt and with some hesitation, he ended up embracing her back even tighter while crying out silently too.

"Leo you...were never insane, no one has the right to declare you insane." She whispered.

"I know it hurts...and It's okay to be in pain..."

"You never killed anyone and so, you were never the reason for Luna's death. It was fate and it had nothing to do with you."

She uncoiled her hands and cupped his face, "She loved you and will always do, and trust me she would've never loved to see you being in guilt because of her."

Wiping his tears with her thumbs, his hands still on her waist. "I'm not leaving you, no one had ever left willingly. It was just unfortunate and you had to face it twice, that's it. Do you understand?"

Childishly he kept looking at her and nodded slightly. "Would you...like to go somewhere with me?"

"Out of this...darkroom? Away somewhere...far from here?" She asked.

He gulped, he was nervous to step outside, "What if I...hurt someone?" His painful voice made Cally breathe in heavily as she was feeling a lump in her throat.

"You...could never hurt anyone."

"But I did to you, and Dr Lisa-"

"No one's to be blamed for something which has no victims. Did you ever see Lisa or me cursing you over something like that? That was never you...it was your anger and your pain you hid all this time, so deep..."

After a quiet silence as they both looked at each other,

"So...should I consider your answer as a yes?" She questioned and he just nodded...
