I took a deep breath and held out my arm, "Will you walk with me Charles?" I tilted my head slightly, gazing at him and he seemed to avoid eye contact with me.
This made me question him a bit but, I mostly tried to ignore his avoidance. Maybe there was something on his mind? Either way I wanted to talk to him about the Bellums and I wanted to do it quick.
After a while, he latched onto my arm still avoiding eye-contact. But I didn't mind because I atleast had him with me. Now all I had to do was maneuver through the crowd.
I held onto his arm tightly, while my other hand picked up my dress, to avoid slipping. I ducked down my head and Charles followed along with me, inching through the crowd of people.
I looked over to the left a bit to see where the Bellums were placed and it seems they weren't at the table anymore. My face went pale and I took a deep breath glancing over to Charles.
He still wouldn't look at me, I exhaled and rolled my eyes, grabbing his shirt. I whispered, "We have to be careful not to get spotted I don't need the Bellums after me again okay? Can you work with me?"
His blue eyes stared into my mine and I couldn't help but see the determination in him. The ocean blue dept that drew me, making me more curious about this seamstress.
I pulled away with a smile and he seemed to be more red, "I-I of course can work with you. B.being sneaky is my thing Coqu-Miss.Victoria!" He covered his mouth, and we both ducked as a few people turned their heads near us.
I internally start to sweat, for I thought we were found, but once the chatter got louder and their heads turned away.I knew we're safe.
I took a heavy sigh, Me and Charles continuing to the balcony. We crept slowly watching our backs, carefully not bumping into anyone. We were almost there until my Father walked by making Charles and me stop immediately.
We watched as he circled his head round and curved a smile upon staring at the ceiling. He looked over our way and walked off mysteriously as I held in a breath.
Charles looked at me with worry and together we carefully reached the balcony. I shut the sliver doors behind us looking up to the clear night sky.
We finally made it.
