I took in a deep breath, the cool air hitting my lungs and I exhaled. I was clear for now, atleast for a while. I looked on Charles's shirt and the pendant was there, but I don't think it on.
If it was, my mother definitely would have heard the conversation me and Charles had upstairs and if it was on..He wouldn't be standing with me, like he is right now.
I took another sigh of relief asking, "Charles about that pendant on your shirt, did my mother or anyone around do something to it?"
He looked to me a little confused but then he lit up, "Oh well, one of my helpers did tamper with it a bit for some odd reason. They said it had something to do with your mother's request? I don't know what it was about but, I'm supposed to get it looked at again, After this event."
My eyes went wide and a theory clicked in my head, and it was that my mother would turn off the spy devices; when there were events. I figured this because the pendants usually have this little glow, this light-up thing when they're on. I believe, I got this insight from when Rene was still here and her pendant would glow, when my mother or the maids needed her.
That had to be it, if I was wrong, then after this event I would definitely be in trouble and Charles might not be my Seamstress anymore, so I just hope that I'm right.
I turn to Charles and I have a serious look, of determination and willingness. I needed to indirectly ask if Charles was going to be on my side if he found out the truth about this house.
I leaned on the edge of the sliver rail and said, "You know, they were very suspicious acting. The Bellums, one particular one, Lady.Bellum was asking me questions about my hunger and where I could go and not go. It seemed like she was trying to get something me out of me."
I looked to him and he had a slightly strung face, something almost of worry, "Oh my-I'm so sorry, if I were with you I could have-!"
I shook my head, "It's okay, I just-what would you have done? If they were trying to get something out of you? As if you were hiding something?"
He folded his arms, looked to the side a bit and then locked eyes with me, "I would escape as you did and found some where quiet. If I were keeping a secret, depending on what it was, I would let my parents know, if it was a horrible one, I would think they would help me to work it out."
"Well, what if you couldn't trust your parents?" I asked and he looked down a bit from this, responding with, "Well, I think that would be unfortunate, I guess I would try a friend then. A good one that I could trust."
"And if you had no friends?" I locked back eyes with Charles and he kept his gaze on me.
"No friend? Can't even discuss with my parents? Brock that's pretty bad dose. Well I guess I'll legged it and go on my own. Find someone to help get the bad out of me. Maybe get a therapist or someone to help. I'd hate to be on my own with something bad on me ."
Hearing his response made me think of myself, with this secret that I'm carrying. Charles seems genuine from what I heard, but I still don't know if I can fully trust him.Guess I have to get to know him more.
