I heard a knock on my door, standing from my place on the carpet where I had been practicing different maneuvers I opened the door.
"Miss Eliza, it's time for supper." Stated the maid in a kind voice, I smiled and nodded. She hurried away as I changed back into my clothes from this morning. A large white sweatshirt with ripped black skinny jeans. I opened my door and walked quietly to the dining room. I took my seat that was to the left of Amy, who sat on the left of Jhon who sat at the head of the table. Looking around everyone was here, well, everyone I knew. Which consisted of the Beta's family, the Third's family, and the Lead Warrior's family. Sitting directly in front of me was Carter, and to the right of him was Noah. They seemed to be lost in thought. Amy smiled at me and looked around the table,
"This dinner is to celebrate the return of our future Head Alphas!" Jhon said loudly in the silent hall. "So please! Everyone! Welcome my sons, Noah and Carter, your future Alpha's, back into our home!" He shouted as he stood. A long series of shouts whistles and cheers followed close on the heels of his last word. "Now! Lets eat!" Maids entered the hall and began coating the table in various dishes, chicken, steak, broccoli, salad, every food you could ever think of. I served myself a plate of greek salad, my personal favorite.
When everyone was about half way through their plate I felt a pang of uncomfortableness in my lower back. Shifting the way I was seated I continued to pick at my salad faintly listening into the conversation between the Connor family. I felt it again, but this time it was stronger. My face contorted in discomfort,
"Uh, uhm, c-could I be excused?" I asked, the Connor family looked at me concerned,
"Do you feel unwell dear?" Asked Miss Amy.
"Uh, uhm. I-I don't know." I said as I stood, I stumbled as I stood. Hissing through my teeth as another wave of discomfort and pain washed over me.
"Oh, oh okay dear. If you need anything we will be here." Amy said with a worried tone. I forced a smile on my face and hurried out of the hall, I could feel eyes on me but I didn't take too much attention. I hurried outside, and curled in a ball in the grass as pain shot through my limbs. I whimpered as another wave hit, every time the pain level slightly increased. I let out a small muffled scream as a sharp shot of agony pierced my back. I heard a door open and I could faintly make out two figures standing near me.
"...pain...away...calm...relax, Eliza" I heard through my whimpers.
"...take away...to close...house...pond...hurry!" I felt my body being lifted off the ground, a slight vibration was felt for a matter of minutes before I was placed on the grass again.
"Let..out...scream...relax...shifting…" I groaned when my bones started to ache, I opened my eyes for a brief moment. Noah and Carter were with me. I screamed as the pain got worse, my body contorting on the ground. A series of cracks sound out through the air, I could feel my bones breaking and shifting underneath my skin. I screamed again but it was cut short when my mouth seemingly elongated into a muzzle. My eyes throbbed as my vision enhanced and things became sharper. A slight itching sensation rolled over my skin as fur seemingly sprouted out of my body. The pain stopped immediately and I was left in a ragged, heavy breathing, sweating mess.
I just had my first shift. I'm a mature WereWolf now, able to choose a mate and go into heat. Able to bear pups, and freely shift between beast and woman.
I opened my eyes once my heart rate had slowed. Slowly lifting myself onto my paws, I was exhausted. The shift had taken all my energy, I wobbled over to Carter's feet and laid down with a huff.
"I'm going to stay with her, help her connect with her wild side tomorrow." Noah whispered,
"Alright, I'll head back home. Tell Mom and Father the news." Carter replied. My pointed ears twitched as I heard retreating footsteps and a faint engine noise. The engine slowly disappeared till it was only the quiet, muffle sounds of Noah's shift. I opened my eyes again and looked up to a large dark brown almost black wolf with dark blue eyes. Noah. He gave me a wolfish smile before laying himself next to me. We slept like that, cuddled next to each other.
I awoke with a start, jumping away with a growl. I stopped short after I realized it was only Noah, not another male that had used my body. I yawned and swished my tongue around in my mouth feeling at the differently formed teeth. My canines were thicker and longer, all in all my teeth seemed sharper, wider, dangerous. I grinned, not only was I learning to defend myself in human form, but I had built in weapons in my wolf form. My eyes flickered around the area Noah and I had slept in, it was a small clearing surrounded by thick oaks. I got a glance of my paws and I realized I had no idea what I looked like. I stared down at my feet, they were a mix of dark brown and black. I honestly thought it was beautiful, it matched the colors of my hair almost perfectly. I flicked my tongue out and licked the side of my lip, lifting my nose to the air I breathed in the scents of the morning. Birds, dirt, grass, squirrels, animals, trees.
Looking over my eyes landed upon Noah, he sat silently flicking his tail watching me with an amused expression. I rolled my eyes at his obvious amusement, I pawed at him and he glared playfully at me. I whacked him again, harder this time and ran off glancing over my shoulder to see he was chasing me. We continued to run for about three miles, him occasionally tackling me, but somehow I managed to escape and run off again causing him to chase. I giggled when he tackled me in a large field, we rolled a couple feet before coming to a stop. Him standing over me while I was laying on my back with my legs in the air, one paw pressing gently on his chest. He paused and looked down at me, our eyes locked and the world seemed to still. He smiled and started to lick me on my neck and under my chin, I began to wiggle and let out a canine laugh.
'Click.' We froze as the scent of metal, leather, and beef jerky filled our noses. He stepped off of me and I rolled over sticking close to his side, our eyes scanned the forest before they both landed on two hunters. One had his gun aimed right at me, the other was watching us with eyes squinted. I looked up at Noah with a worried expression, they were after our coats, I gathered based on the thick scent of leather that seemed to coat their skin.
Noah jerked slightly in a weird unnatural way, he looked at me and there was a spark of intelligence in his dark blue eyes. He gently nudged me to lay over, so I did, still confused as to why. He began nuzzling my stomach with continent noises and huffs.
"Man, look at them. She's pregnant. We can't kill her." Squinty whispered to Trigger happy.
"Fine, but we can shoot him." Trigger happy whispered back and adjusted his aim. I shot up and began rubbing myself on Noah's side, blocking his aim to Noah. "Ugh, the female's in the way!" Trigger whisper shouted. I grinned and crouched, licking under Noah's muzzle and the fur at his neck. He either fought on or enjoyed what was happening because he showered me with kisses and nuzzles.
"Man they're so in love, look at 'em. He's gonna be a Dad, we can't just leave their pups without a father." Squinty said while gazing at us, I heard a groan,
"Man, if you don't wanna hunt then leave. We'll leave these two be, but we've gotta bring a pelt home." Trigger happy practically growled out.
"Bro, what about that one?!" Squinty whisper shouted and pointed to the other side of the clearing. Noah's head snapped in that direction. Standing tall and proud a large black wolf watched us with a storied expression. We both stood, a low growl radiated through Noah's chest as I pushed closer to him. My eyes flickered between the two males as they had a glaring/growling match. I drew back slightly and whimpered, slightly wishing for trigger happy to just shoot the rogue. There was something slightly terrifyingly familiar about him. The way he stood, the way he looked, his whole vibe was horrible familiar.
The unknown male lunged just as Noah did, they clashed in the air with a thud that echoed through the trees. I looked away and crawled backward, whimpering slightly to myself. Then it clicked, this male had visited me on more than one occasion. He was convinced that I was 'Marie', I always assumed he lost his mate. The noises stopped, the forest had gone dead silent, not even the trees made a noise. When I looked up Noah had the male pinned down by his neck. I hesitantly crawled closer, fear causing me to tremble. It soaked the air around me, both the males could sense, and smell my fright. When the not so unknown male's eyes locked with mine I saw a pang of recognition in them. He gave a grin and shifted filling the area with noises of cracks. I looked over and saw that the hunters had left, probably fearing the dangers of a wolf fight.
