Chapter 2 - Special

"Do you think this is enough?" Kai asked while showing the contents of a sack full of blue mushrooms. Estra stared at the sack for a moment then nodded. "Please just put it next to the pan."

"Estra, are you sure this will work?" Digu emerged from the open window. He looked worried towrds the potion Estra was making.

"I'm sure my herbs will work." He said while putting two glowing blue mushrooms in his hand.

Digu remembered the time they had to move from their castle on the mountain to the mansion they were living in right now. Digu and Kai didn't bring much things. But Estra and Eudora brought many of their books and potions. The mansion that was originally spacious was now a bit more cramped than Digu's thought it would be when he first moved in along with his fellow wizards.

He flew back to his room and sat limp, thinking about the fate of those who were already on the verge. He did not hear the words that would attack them directly. But through the eyes of the people he knew that the Five Great Wizards were being hated.

"This is not your fault, Digu." Cyclops emerged from behind a door that was not closed. He could read Digu's thoughts that were being engulfed by gloom. "Divination sometimes misses."

"Our predictions did not go wrong. We just didn't read one more prophecy. This mess happened because we were neglectful." He said as he flew to the bookshelf in his room and looked for the book that crossed his mind.

Cyclops was stunned by Digu's correct answer but it was a painful fact. "We can still fix it." Cyclops said as he summoned a little of his strength. He created projections from green phosphorescent powder. The powders rotated on the floor then glided into the air and projected a girl who was staring at Cyclops. "The Prodigy." Said Cyclops lookeing at the gawking Digu.

"Cyclops." Estra looked at Cyclops seriously. "I understand you don't like to talk a lot. But you should tell us something like this." He said while stirring his tea, still staring at his friend.

Now the Five Great Wizards were sitting together, after Digu had complained of the powder projection that Cyclops had shown him. Cyclops just remain silent and played with his tea, didn't seem to bother to look guilty at all.

"Estra, you can't scold him like this." Eudora said. "We just need to know why Cyc didn't tell us. I believe our dearest Cyclops have his own reasons."

"All right," Estra nodded his head, "Cyclops. Why didn't you tell us that you already knew the Prodigy's appearance?"

Cyclops finally gaze upon Estra with his teary eyes, "I don't want to hurt her. She's just a teenager." He whimpers.

Kai choked on the steamed buns he was chewing. Eudora was almost shocked herself with her own lightning and Digu almost blew herself up with a time bomb that he was fixing. Estra sighed and then shook his head, "that's the problem, Cyc." Eudora said after successfully calming herself, "The Prodigy is a dangerous creature and had destroyed the stability of the universe. Do you remember the time the girl was born?" Cyclops nodded. "The Prodigy must be killed immediately." Estra said.

"Is it necessary?" Digu asked again, looking worried. Estra closed his eyes for a moment while massaging his nose bridge. "Digu." His face implied a sickening feeling of annoyance. "We cannot feel sorry for what has destroyed the unity of the kingdom which we have built for centuries." Said Estra, who had now risen from his seat. He grabbed his spell book and turned the page to page two hundred and ten.

"This spell won't be enough to destroy the Prodigy's power." Estra said as he stroke his hand through the large engraved title on top of all the other writings on the page. "But I think it will be strong enough to reduce it until we know how to destroy the force that afflicts this land."

Digu could not believe Estra's hasty decision. Likewise with Cyclops who had seen the Prodigy grow and see her training. He was not afraid of the child. He was more afraid of the wrath of his kind later when they found out that he was participating on killing the Prodigy. Because him and his people all see the same thing. The same thing that Cyclops did not have time to explain to Estra and Digu who was always rushing to go here and there.

"Digu." Called Cyclops from the doorway of Digu's room. The creature turned. "I'm afraid." He said while taking off his high hat. "I don't want to kill her."

"Of course we don't, Cyc." Digu said as he unfurled a slightly worn map. The map shows all the details of the land. "I heard Estra and Eudora's talk. They both agreed not to include us in this mission."

Cyclops paused and blinked a few times, "Why?"

"They think we would only burden them with our calculations." Said Digu, rolling his eyes. "I think if we really want to trouble them why don't we take side with whatever they want to destroy, right? That way they would only be overwhelmed by guilt for not letting us join them in this mission."

Cyclops didn't understand what Digu meant, but he assumed Digu wanted to say that he would help the Prodigy to defeat Estra.

"You want to swear under the shadow of the forces of darkness?!" Cyclops almost blew himself up. Digu chuckled and then hit Cyclops softly.

"The Prodigy is not on any side." Said Digu, shaking his head. "Because of that her arrival was very hard for the Land of Dawn. The land of two sides."

"She is Yin and also Yang." Digu gave out a little shriek when he saw Kai coming in from the open window of his room. "Sorry I interrupted." Kai said while fixing his bamboo hat.

"How much have you heard?" Digu held his head spinning in shock.

"I think it's almost entirely." Kai shrugged his shoulders and then climbed down from the window sill into Digu's room. "Digu, what you want to do is very dangerous."

"I know."

"Estra will revoke your position as the Great Wizard."

Digu rolled his eyes once more, "Tell him, go ahead. I can make my own council. I can arrange and manipulate time according to my wishes. Estra is not even the most powerful." Digu exclaimed, glaring at Cyclops who plays with his hands nervously. Cylcops was supposed to be the Most Powerful if only that creature would use his full value. But his sense of feelings blurred his judgement and make him the second strongest.

Kai chuckled as he shook his head, "You need Cyclops to really manipulate time, Dag Boy."

"Please! Stop calling me by that embarrassing name!"

Kai brought his face closer to Digu with his a serious expression, "I will not interfere with your problems and Estra's. I cannot see what Cyclops could see about the Prodigy that it makes him afraid to kill her. I would only help you through food and warm clothes." Kai said with a smile.

"Thank you. That would be very enough to us."

Miya was enjoying the breeze on the branches of a tree that grew close to her bedroom window. Sometimes she feels that the wind always wants to talk to her. But she and the wind do not have the same language. She can only hope that the breeze is only singing a beautiful and soothing song.

"Miya." Call a voice from her room. The girl turned to a woman she was very familiar with, the girl smiled. "Hello, Mother."

His mother smiles back and approaches her then sat on the window frame. "The night sky is bright today." Her mother said as she brought a cup of tea closer to Miya's arm. The girl accepted the cup then looked back at the sky that her mother gazing at.

"It's strange when Ma says that." Miya said a little chuckle. "Why?" Asked her mother.

"That sounds ironic considering that our land is being surrounded by dark forces." Miya said, taking a sip of tea once. "You're right. But I have to admit that evenings are beautiful."

"I think it would be more beautiful if the power of darkness vanished and evenings are just evenings."

Her mother smiled. Once again Miya said the right thing and she could not refute it. She was also not sure what to reply to Miya's statement that slightly struck her heart.

"When the darkness at night completely disappears," his mother said spontaneously, "the boundary between today and tomorrow will also disappear, dear." Her mother said while lifting Miya into the room with the help of the wind who listened to the woman's order. "Sometimes there are things that don't need to disappear just because they're terrifying. You just need to look for something fun in the gloom, then you'll be safe from it." She said while asking for the wind to put Miya on her bed.

"I just want to say my thoughts."

"I understand, honey. But now you have to sleep." Her mother said, smiling at Miya. Miya smiled back and began to close her eyes. But she quickly remembers the thing she was thinking before his mother came with a million opinions about the evening.

"Mother. I have a question." Miya said to his mother who hadn't completely turned around. "Yes dear?"

"Is there a miracle in this world?" His mother frowned at Miya's sudden question. It's a silly question.

"Why do you feel that miracle doesn't exist?"

"Oh, I don't know. I'm just curious."

"On this land, my dear Miya, miracles are a very natural thing." Her mother stroked the top of Miya's head and kissed her gently.

"In that case, what is the greatest miracle Ma has ever experienced?" Miya asked with a face full of curiosity.

Her mother seemed to think for a moment. The woman traced all of her memories about the miracles that occurred during her lifetime and then stopped at one memory that until now she still could not forget. She smiled and said, "You are my greatest miracle."

Miya chuckled, "why, Ma?" Miya hopes she will get an normal answers. Maybe her mother used to experienced difficult times to conceive a child but then finally blessed with Miya or an answer like because Miya is a bright and kind child. But her mother has another answer that Miya couldn't expect.

"I found you in front of the gate one night," she said, her mother smiling wryly remembering what happened that one night, "at the Blood Moon Festival someone gave you a brilliant mother."

Miya's heart stopped for a moment. As if the breeze stopped and she couldn't breathe for a moment. There was fear that directly infiltrated her back. "Wh ... What?"

"I know this day would come. I want you to know the truth." The woman fondly stroked Miya's cheek and sat next to him. "You don't need to be afraid, dear. I'm here to protect you now." She said while holding Miya tightly.

"Then why am I a miracle?" Miya asked slowly, holding her mother's arms close. Her mother was silent for a moment. The woman knew she could not explain that Miya was the Prodigy who had been taught in the History class as a dangerous creature. She knew that anything recorded in history about the First Prodigy had nothing to do with Miya's arrival.

She is sure Miya had come for a good reason. She is sure the Second Prodigy had come to make history brighter than the previous one.

"Because you are special." She said with a big smile printed on her face.
