Saintess Karen shook her head at the little prank I did. She looked at me with such reverence that it made my skin crawl.
"Saintess, how does it feel to finally see the goddess?" I asked her.
"It was life changing my lady." She answered still gazing at me.
"I was actually wondering why I recieved such an invitation, but to think it was to see Her ladyship, goddess Parsua! And she even embraced me!" She prattled excitedly. "I think I am the only saintess to have actually met her in person."
She looked at me and her gaze softened even more.
"Thank you my lady." She sincerely said.
"It was nothing." I replied. "I just wanted to inform you since you would possibly be seeing her as long as I am alive. I'll also be visiting the temple often."
Her eyes went wide.
"The temple of Parsua will always be open for you my lady." She beamed.
I smiled at her and nodded.
"I might need the temple's help soon." I told her.
Something flashed in her eyes but she quickly covered it with a smile.
"The temple will always stand on your side my lady." She answered as if she knows what I was planning.
"Saintess Karen, what is your ability?" I asked her straightforwardly.
She stiffened at my sudden question but quickly recovered.
"I am a healer, my lady." She smiled.
A healer..
"I see.." I whispered. "Do-"
Sebastiene knocked on the door and came in with tea and some snacks.
"Thank you Seb." I told him as he set snacks on the table and poured us tea.
"You're welcome my lady." Sebastiene smiled.
Saintess Karen had another shocked expression on her face.
"Are you alright saintess?" I asked her after seeing her face which then turned black.
"My lady, I wanted to ask.."
"Yes?" I looked at her as I put down my cup.
She suddenly looked up with a cute ferocious look as she slammed her hand on the table and leaned towards me. She resembled an angry furry white cat.
"Why is that troublesome demon lord here my lady?" She asked.
"Seb is my butler as well as my guard." I calmly answered. "Is there anything wrong with him, saintess?"
"Then, you know that he is a demon?" She retreated slightly.
"Why of course. That is why he is my guard." I smiled at Sebastiene.
"But he is not just some demon my lady, he is a demon LORD." She emphasized on Sebastiene's ex job.
"And that is why I hired him as my butler." I said as I picked up my cup and took a sip. "His immense knowledge on business and ruling is a great help to us. Paired with his powerful ability makes him the perfect fit for the role."
"But.."
Karen wanted to say something but I cut her.
"And Parsua chose him too."
With the mention of the goddess, she did not refute anymore, but she threw Sabastiene what I think was a warning look, thought it only looked like she glanced at him poutedly.
"My lady, when do you plan to visit the temple?" She changed the topic.
"I-"
Boom!
A thunderous explosion cut me off and shook the castle.
"My lady!" Sebastiene was by my side protectively.
"What was that?!" I asked standing up.
I could feel immense bloodlust outside but it was inhuman.
Mother!
She may be protected by Athy's spirits but she easily gets scared and panic.
I ran towards the main hall with Sebastiene and saintess Karen behind me.
'Sis!' Uriel's worried voice popped in my head.
'Sis! We are under some kind of attack. Do not leave that room and stay to protect Athy.' I immediately instructed her. 'I'll take care of it.'
'Okay.' Uriel then became silent.
We arrived at the front door where the guests earlier are now huddled watching what was happening outside.
"Move." I say in a cold voice. They all parted and let me pass through.
When I arrived outside, there was not only one demon beast but a whole flock of them. The knights are now in groups trying to fight off the beasts. Even Count Polit and Viscount Rutchel have taken arms to fight with our knights with Count Gandor supporting them. Mother was in right outside the door seemingly protecting the guests inside.
"Shit!" I cursed under my breath.
"My lady.." Sebastiene said as he pointed towards my father who was fighting with a demon beast that looked like an orange ostrich with sharp teeth and triple in size.
"Haaaaa.." I sighed.
There were about thirty demon beasts scattered in our castle grounds.
"Knights!" I shouted. "All of you pull back!"
The knights looked at me in surprise.
I raised my hand and the demon beasts stopped moving and the knights pulled back carefully.
When everyone has pulled back, I clenched my hand into fists. The demon beasts exploded into smithereens with their blood and meat spilling all over the ground.
The knights all had their eyes on me, with their jaws almost hitting the ground.
"Clean it up." I turned towards Sebastiene and pointed at the gorey scene in front of us.
"Yes my lady." He answered and raised his hand. A small black sphere appeared and sucked everything to the last drop of blood on the ground.
"Everyone. Please return to the main hall, the problem has been solved." I turned towards the guests and smiled.
