Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

"No; I'm sorry Nathan, but I'm not going to accept the offer of being your band's personal assistant." Roxie stated.

"What; why? At least give me one good reason why you won't take the job." Nathan told her.

"Ok, let's see. Oh, yeah; you didn't mention the fact that you are one of the members of possibly the biggest band of this generation?!" Roxie shouted.

"First of all; last night was not entirely all of my fault ok? At least I wasn't the one who walked through a whole freaking rainstorm without a stupid raincoat and umbrella! You know you could have done at least some research before traveling over to another country where it rains pretty much almost every single day of the year." Nathan remarked.

"You know this is the reason why I don't like guys like you. First; you're all welcoming and friendly, but once a day goes by-BAM! You're back to being your arrogant, stubborn, spoiled popstar ways." Roxie retorted. Roxie then stormed out of the media room and headed straight towards the living room couch. Once Roxie had entered the kitchen; Paul, Calvin and Landon just stared at her and then down the hallway at the media room.

"What; you boys haven't seen a girl pissed off before?" Roxie rebuked once Nathan had returned to the kitchen.

"Ok, well this conversation looks like its going to come to a close pretty soon. Calvin, Landon; let's give these two some space." Paul suggested. Calvin and Landon then grabbed their cups of coffee and followed Paul back upstairs; leaving both Nathan and Roxie alone in the living room.

"Hey I bet you £10 that Roxie still doesn't take the job." Calvin whispered to Landon.

"What makes you think that Roxie won't take the job?"

"Did you see the way she stormed into the living room? That girl looked like she was about to blow someone's head off." Calvin pointed out.

"I don't know; I have a strong feeling that Nathan might convince her in the end, but if you insist; I accept your wager." Landon said.

"You two are so weird, you know that right?" Paul mentioned.

"Yeah, yeah whatever; just get to the balcony before those two head outside." Calvin commanded. Back in the living room, Roxie was finishing packing up her belongings in her suitcases.

"Are you sure you don't want me to call you a taxi?" Nathan asked her.

"Nathan; it's really sweet of you that you let me stay over for the night and that you rescued me, but I think I can manage on finding a place to stay while I'm still here in the UK," Roxie told him. "Now; if you'll excuse me, I got a long walk to your aunt and uncle's little pub and inn and I'd better get moving before another rainstorm moves in while I'm walking over there." she added. Roxie then grabbed both of her suitcases and her backpack and started to head towards the front door. As Roxie was walking away, Nathan just stared at the one girl who liked him for who he was walk out the front door.

"I can't believe I'm doing this. Roxie; wait!" Nathan yelled. Roxie rolled her eyes and stopped where she was at and looked at Nathan.

"Nathan, I already told you; I don't-." Roxie started.

"Look; I get that you're still mad at me for not telling you about me and the whole band situation, but listen to what I have to say right now." Nathan told her.

"Fine; I'm listening." Roxie sighed.

"I still think you should still be my band's personal assistant. Now; I know that you don't want to do that because you're worried about me and the guys helping you out with your story and everything, but isn't that what these adventures are all about? You said so yourself that this trip was your only shot in making your dreams of becoming an author an reality. I know that you will take this job." Nathan stated.

"Really, how do you know that? You barely even know me."

"I know because a friend of mine once said that chances like these for creative, talented people like you and me come only once in a lifetime and it's our decision to just leave it or take the opportunity head on without any doubts." Nathan told her. Roxie knew that Nathan was right. Chances like this didn't happen to Roxie, especially if Roxie was still in New York. This was possibly one of the biggest opportunities for her and Roxie was considering on backing out because she was afraid of Fifth Avenue Square on helping her get closer to her dream of becoming an author. That just wasn't like Roxie at all. If Cassie, Garrett, Kyle or even Fifth Avenue Boy were here; they would think Roxie was crazy enough to not accept the job offer. What made it even worse was that Nathan used one of the many sayings Fifth Avenue Boy always said to her whenever Roxie had any doubts about anything.

"If I do this job; will you promise me that you and your band mates will do whatever it takes to get me a good publisher?" Roxie asked.

"I swear with every word, on my honor." Nathan promised.

"Good because if you boys want to make this album a big hit; you're going to need a ton of help." Roxie pointed out. Nathan then started to jump up and down and hug Roxie. Once Nathan realized what he was doing; Nathan put Roxie down and just stood there all awkward. Roxie just giggled and laughed at Nathan. Then Nathan grabbed one of Roxie's suitcases and the two of them walked back into the house.
