Throughout that same week; Roxie was busy helping out Paul, Landon and on some occasions Calvin with their songwriting skills. Every day all three boys would stop by her room to ask her opinion on this scenario or any ideas for that particular song and as usual Roxie gave her input, but Roxie always made sure that it was what the band wanted for the album. However; to Roxie's surprise, Nathan never came to her for any help on his songs for the album. Every once in a while, Roxie would see Nathan either watching T.V. or on his laptop; but Roxie never saw him working on his own songs for the next album. Roxie would even ask Nathan if he needed any help or advice for his songwriting and Nathan would just say no, ignore her or even change the subject.
"Hey guys; I'm getting worried about Nathan. It's almost been a week since I have been staying here at the house and Nathan hasn't even asked me for any advice or help with his songs that he is supposed to be doing for your next album." Roxie said to Paul, Landon and Calvin as she was looking out at the backyard.
"Eh; that's just how Nathan is when it comes to stuff like this. The one thing you have to know about Nathan is that he likes to take his time on everything; especially when it comes to music. If you tell Nathan once to do one simple task, he'll do it in a heart beat. But if you tell Nathan a couple of times after that; you're more than likely to get nothing out of him." Paul explained.
"I just wish there was something I could do so Nathan could open up about anything that's bothering him. I can't be that intimidating to talk to, right?"
"No; you're not, but you do have a good point. Nathan should have at least given you some type of song by now and I don't think he has so far. Maybe you should-you know what; never mind, it's a stupid idea anyway." Landon mentioned.
"What Landon; what were you thinking of doing?" Roxie asked him.
"Ok; this might sound a bit crazy, but I was thinking that you could do some of the things Nathan likes to do in his free time. Besides going out to the local pubs to watch football games; Nathan likes to play video games, nerf gun wars with water balloons and play with silly string." Landon suggested.
"Dude; you aren't suggesting that Roxie actually tires to hang out with Nathan and like the same things while she is trying to get him to start writing his two songs? If Roxie does that, Nathan will think that Roxie was just trying to trick him into doing something." Calvin pointed out.
"Well; do you have any ideas Calvin? As of right now, tricking Nathan is the only plan that we've got to use right now." Landon remarked.
"Hold on; we might be able to use that idea." Roxie said.
"Wait; you're not actually considering on doing all of that stuff, right? That will just be insane." Paul retorted.
"What is Nathan's all time favorite video game?" Roxie asked them.
"Oh, that's easy; Nathan's favorite video game is League of Angels. It's kind of a World War III futuristic sci-fi video game series that is very popular right now," Calvin replied. "But I don't understand how that is supposed to help with getting Nathan to write his songs for the album." he added.
"How would you boys like to have a little League of Angels themed water war right in your own backyard?" Roxie asked.
"What do you have in mind Roxie?" Paul asked her. Roxie then explained her whole plan to Paul, Calvin and Landon. All three boys thought that Roxie's plan was amazing. It not only would catch Nathan by surprise, but also somewhat inspire him to start writing his songs.
"How much time do you need to get everything ready?" Paul asked Roxie.
"It should at least take me at least two or three days to get everything all set up, but I'll guarantee that I'll have everything done by the weekend." Roxie said.
"Ok; then I'll have Nathan's cousins Annie and Tom help you out with getting all of the supplies. As for the other supplies; I thin the three of us can manage that stuff here at home." Paul stated.
"Good; now we have to make sure that the songs that you three wrote for the album don't get ruined. I'll have a folder in the media room the night before the war and you boys will leave your songs in that folder while the game is on. I also want to keep the folder while the game is on. I also want to keep the folder in the media room, that way, that way the media room could be the only room in the house that is off limits throughout the whole game." Roxie added.
"That's fine with us; maybe we could also ask Annie and Tom to join in on the game too so we could at least try to have an even number." Landon suggested.
"That actually isn't that bad of an idea. If we do divide up into teams; maybe we could have the four of you in one team while me, Annie and Tom be in another team. That way you boys could work on your guys' teamworking skills as a band." Roxie pointed out.
"What day are you thinking of having the water war on?" Calvin asked her.
"I was thinking on Saturday morning around 9 or 10, or around the time Nathan usually gets up on that day. It's really up to you three on the time slot; since we are using your house for the game." Roxie mentioned.
"I think we should have the war start at the time when Nathan gets up, that way it could add more to the surprise essence of the whole game. I mean; I'm pretty sure you'll have to get up early so you could get everything all set up and me, Landon, Calvin, Annie and Tom will do our best in helping you out with the stuff by moving any furniture, putting the gadgets in the right places and what not." Paul stated.
"Alright; then I guess that's it for now. Paul; why don't you try to get a hold of Annie right now for me and tell her about the whole plan. In the meantime; you three boys could do whatever you want to do today. If you need anything; just knock on my bedroom door." Roxie instructed. The three boys nodded their heads and Roxie went back to her room to go relax.
As the day went on, Nathan was getting bored and a bit restless. Nathan hadn't been out of the house since the night he had met Roxie and for some odd reason; Nathan was getting antsy about wanting to do at least do something fun with her.
"Hey guys; do you know if Roxie is in her room right now?" Nathan asked his other band mates when he came downstairs.
"She said that she was going to be in there; do you need her advice on something?" Calvin asked.
"Not really; I was thinking of taking her to The Smouldering Hog so she could meet my cousins and my aunt and uncle. Besides; I think we might need to stock up on some food." Nathan told him.
"Oh, so in other words you're taking Roxie out on a date." Calvin rephrased.
"Not exactly; but if you put it in that way then I guess you could say that I'm somewhat taking Roxie out on a date." Nathan said sarcastically.
"All I have to say is good luck because I don't think Roxie will agree to go back to the one place where you lied to her a week ago." Calvin admitted.
"Trust me; with the way I got Roxie to stay here, I'm pretty sure she'll say yes." Nathan stated.
