Chapter 8 - No Robbers Allowed

They both fast walked down the hallway and into the elevator. Clark went to a very low floor, but not the lowest. There was an awkward silence in the elevator until the door finally opened and they have made it to the floor. But, the floor looked more like a room. The big room was circular and the walls were black and looked like the inside of a beehive. In front of Frances, there was another circular room, but, it was white and there was two windows where you can see a man inside. He was unconscious and was tied to a chair with a sack over his head. He also had a red bucket next to him.

"Who is that?" Frances asked, a little concerned.

"His name is Zack Ivanov." Maxy said, coming out of nowhere. "He is 25 years old, 5 foot 9 inches tall, and was said to be a part of mayor John King's robbery."

The mayor was robbed 2 weeks before this was happening. it was spotted on surveillance camera, 3 males with masks and shotguns broke into the back of John's house, stealing whatever they could find. Unfortunately, killing 4 politicians in the process. This event was all over the news, so, almost everyone knew about it.

"Yep, what she said." Clark stated. "We need you to get the answers we need."

"I thought I was the one to bring them here and you guys do the other stuff?"

"We're testing out what your strong suits are." Clark told. "We'll have you do different tasks. For now, you'll be the one to do this."

"Do what?" Frances asked.

"Interrogation." Clark answered. "You will ask him questions about the robbery. He does not have a choice between anything. You are in control of everything that goes on in the room the entire time."

Clark told Frances to follow her into the room with the man. He pressed a button which opened a big metal door and went towards him. Clark violently pulled off the sack on his head and everyone could see his face. He then picked up the bucket ,that Frances could now see was filled with water, and splashed it over the man. He woke up and he was frantic, he looked completely lost. Clark gave Frances an earpiece and left the room, leaving her inside with the confused man.

"Ask him for his name." Maxy said through the earpiece.

"What's your name?" Frances asked the man, walking in circles around him.

"Uhh, shit, Zack." He said back. "Zack Ivanov."

She kept slowly circling around him, surprisingly not getting dizzy. Frances waited for the next question. There was a short silence, that's when she turned and looked outside of the glass. Maxy gave her a signal to carry on and Clark watched patiently.

"So, where are you from, Zack?" Frances asked as she kept circling him.

"I'm from Miami." He answered, he was starting to calm down, but not a lot.

"Okay, and do you know why you're here Zack Ivanov from Miami?" Frances asked kind of sarcastically.

"If this is about that damn robbery I have nothing to do with it." He cried.

"How'd you know we were talking about a robbery?" Frances asked.

Zack was silent as he just then realized that he messed up. Frances got in front of him, closely, and bent down to look at him in his eyes. He struggled to even make eye contact as he knew they caught him.

"Now, you are going to tell me everything." She demanded. "Who was with you, where they are located, and how much approximately did you take?"

"I'm not saying shit." He fired back, Frances could tell he was still scared because he still looked frantic.

In under a split second, Frances pulled out her gun from her jacket and pointed it straight at his head. "Now, you're gonna answer the damn-" She heard a bang on the glass interrupt her scream, it was Clark trying to get her attention.

"Calm down! Just pull the lever." Clark told Frances through her earpiece.

"What lever?" Frances asked confused.

After she had said that, a rectangular piece of the wall slid aside, revealing a lever. Both Frances and the man looked over at it.

"What does it do?" Frances asked.

"You'll see." Clark answered.

"I like the sound of that." Frances got up and headed towards the lever. She expected it to electrocute him, but instead, a robot arm came out from the ceiling with a tranquilizer. Frances did not know the substance that was inside it, but it was red and almost looked like blood. The robot arm stabbed Zack in the arm with full force. He screamed loud enough that everyone on the floor above could hear him. There didn't seem to be a reaction, so Frances crouched down in front of him once again.

"What did you do?!" He kept screaming.

"I don't know but I would recommend answering the questions before that goes into effect." Frances taunted.

"Fine, y-you want the answers?" Zack started to stutter like he was running out of air. "It was just me and t-two of my colleagues, Jack Miller and Sam Thomas, they are at an apartment call Jorges Towers, and we took watches, chains, money, shoes, and earrings. I'd say we took about $10 million worth of merchandise. Is that what you want to hear?"

"Yep, exactly." Frances confirmed as she got up and left the room, joining Maxy and Clark.

"Why the fuck am I not out of this thing already?!" Zack kept screaming as he started to struggle and try to break out.

"Well, now that we got the answers." Clark pulled out a black controller with a big button and pressed it. Immediately after, Zack's head exploded. There was blood everywhere in the room and his brain scattered on the floor. Both Maxy and Frances turned around in disgust.

"Dude, What the fuck?" Frances cried out while she was coughing. Maxy started gagging and almost threw up.

"Hold your weak stomachs." Clark teased. "Let's go up."

The lights in the room all turned off as the three of them went back into the elevator. The girls were still disturbed by what they had just witnessed.

"So, Frances," Clark sparked up a conversation. "What did you learn?"

"That human heads have a lot more blood than I thought." She answered. "I think I'm getting a headache."

"Other than that, C'mon." Clark looked over at her.

"I don't know, how to ask people fucking questions?!" Frances snapped back.

"We still got work to do." Clark shook his head, facing forward again. "Anyway, you ladies are done. You are welcome to pack up your things and leave."

As soon as the elevator door opened, both girls headed towards their station. Before they both got to their destination, Clark called her.

"And uh, Frances." Clark called out. She turned around, facing him. "Do you always carry a gun around with you?"

"Just about." Frances answered, turning back around and heading towards her station.

"I'm sorry you had to see that." Maxy apologized. "I didn't expect him to do that either."

"Don't be sorry, It's not your fault." Frances said, smiling at her, then packing her things again.

"Yeah, well, someone has to." Maxy smiling back. She stared at Frances, waiting for a response.

"See you tomorrow." Frances said.

"Yeah, see you." Maxy said back. Frances left the building and went back into the elevator as Maxy continued to gather her things.
