The next two days were very slow. Nothing was happening but them doing more meaningless prep. Once Frances got off of work, she went home and got a text from Maxy.
"Remember, party at 11 today." The message said. She decided not to answer and took a nap instead. She set an alarm for 10 PM so she would have time to get ready. She already knew she didn't have to drive because the club wasn't far from her house. Frances slept on her couch, hoping she would wake up on time.

Frances decided to wear a plain black T-shirt with a jean jacket, jeans, and black shoes. She put her hair into a ponytail then left. Once Frances got to the night club, she saw Maxy outside talking to a group of people she assumed to be her friends. Maxy was wearing an all black off the shoulder dress that went down to her mid thighs with black high heels. They were almost screaming happy birthday to her and they seem very drunk already even though the party just started. The club on the outside was a medium tall black building with neon purple LED lights on the perimeter. Also is LED lights, it had the name "Dazy" on the top.
Frances headed towards Maxy. She noticed her friends were gone and she was just by herself, looking at little down. As soon as Maxy saw her, she got a big smile on her face and reached out for a hug.
"Hey, I was waiting for you!" She exclaimed, she sounded so happy as she hugged Frances lightly.
"Happy birthday," Frances said, letting her go. She reached into her pocket and pulled out a small black square box. "I, uh, I got you something."
"Oh, you didn't have to! Thank you!" Maxy said, she was very excited to see what was inside. Without hesitation, she took the box and started to take off the lid.
"Careful, it's fragile." Frances advised with a big grin on her face like she was about to laugh.
"What is it?" Maxy gave her a suspicious look.
"I don't know, open it." Frances joked again.
"AAAAH!" Maxy screamed as she saw what was inside and instantly dropped the box. Frances bursts into laughter trying to pick it back up and give it back to her.
"You brought a fucking snake?! What the fuck?" Maxy squeals and starts to panic.
"Aw c'mon, it's not that bad, take it!" Frances brings the snake closer to Maxy and still laughing.
"No, get it away from me!"
"Fine." Frances puts the snake back in the box and shrugs. "What do I do with it?"
"I saw every single second of that." A woman walks out of the club, laughing and joins the conversation. She had long black hair that reached to her chest and blue eyes. She was wearing a sparkly red dress with bright red lipstick. "You're really scared of snakes, huh?"
"Um, yeah." Maxy laughs off. "Frances, this is Rachel."
"Hello, I really like your outfit." She puts her arm out for a handshake.
"Thanks, yours looks nice too." Frances shook her hand.
"Aw, thank you! You're such a sweetheart." Rachel smiled. "Come in, drinks are on the house."
All three of them walked into the club, it was moderately crowded in the inside and had music blasting. Everyone seemed to be having a good time, except for the security guards. Frances, still holding the box in her hand, follows Rachel and Maxy towards the bartender.
"We'll take three vodka shots please." Rachel ordered. "You ever had one?" She turned to Frances.
"No, I don't drink much." She answered.
"Oh, you're going to love them." Rachel gushed, lightly grabbing her shoulder, then letting go.
Not even 15 seconds later, the bartender came back with a bottle and 3 shot glasses. She placed them down on the table and poured in the drink carefully into each glass.
"Happy 18th birthday, Mademoiselle." She said to Maxy, handing the girls their glass. She sounded like she had a French accent and was not from the country.
"Thank you!" Maxy replied, then turned to her group. "Okay, ready?" Maxy asked them. "Three... Two... One..." She chanted before they all chugged down their first shot.
"How was that one?" Rachel asked.
"It was..." Frances paused. "Great." The girls laughed hysterically and continued to drink shots one after another. After five minutes of talking and drinking, they headed towards the back of the club to the big couch. While walking, someone grabbed Frances' arm.
"Hey," The man said. "You busy?"
"Yeah." She replied, still laughing.
"What's in the box?" He pulled her hand close to look at the box.
"I don't know, take it." Frances, knowing what was inside, shoved the box into his chest and walked off.
They sat down at the couch for a while and talked endlessly. After awhile, Rachel got up and left to talk to a friend, which left Maxy and Frances alone. Maxy moved over next to Frances really close and started to talk to her.
"Well, since we're friends I guess, can I ask you a few questions?" Maxy asked. "They're kinda random but y'know."
"I don't really like questions but sure." Frances took a sip of her drink.
"Okay, what your favorite color?" Maxy asked.
"Orange." Frances answered.
"Orange?" Maxy teased. "Yellow is definitely the best color."
"Whatever you say birthday girl." Frances teased back.
"Alright," Maxy laughs. "What's your favorite holiday?"
"Halloween, I get to scare the shit out of people."
"That's mean but makes sense." Maxy laughs again. "Least favorite holiday?"
"Christmas, everyone turns into saps."
"Yeah because it's the holiday of giving."
"It's a sap holiday."
"Okay smart-ass," Maxy took a sip of her drink. "If you could have one thing in the entire world, what would it be?"
Frances hesitated, trying to think of the answer.
"I don't know." Frances looked down. "What about you?"
Maxy thought for a second. "A family would be nice." She took another sip and looked away. Frances looked her up and down with a slight smile and turned away as well. She watched everyone else in the club dancing and having a good time.
"Wanna dance?" Maxy asked leaning towards her.
"Umm-" Maxy pulled Frances' arm before she could answer and pulled her to the dance floor. Once they were on it, Maxy pulled Frances close to her and put her hand on her waist. She then put her own arms on Frances' shoulder and started to dance with the music.
"C'mon, dance!" Maxy insisted and short after, she did. They were having the time of their lives, drinking more vodka, laughing hysterically, and the two of them felt like they owned the world together. They finally decided to leave three hours later.
"So," Maxy said. "What do you want to do?"
"I don't know, I'm kinda tired so I probably head home." Frances looked at her phone to check the time.
"Aw, already?" Maxy sighed then Frances shrugged her shoulders.
"Alright well, it was nice hanging out with you." Maxy smiled and bit her lip.
"Yeah, see you tomorrow." She nodded and turned around and started heading home, so did Maxy.
The path to her house was pretty dark and quiet. Not many people walked down that path during the night time but that didn't stop Frances because she always preferred being alone. While walking, she heard a girl screaming from around the corner. She was confused and rushed to find out where it was coming from, she couldn't believe what she saw after.
