Chereads / A loner's Crazy Life / Chapter 4 - 4.

Chapter 4 - 4.

It had been four days since Theon and Jace stayed in Vuwen Village. At first, they were awkward but now they have gotten used to everyone.

"Morning Uncle Gen! Uncle Wade!"

The two middle-aged men smiled kindly when they saw the running Jace.

"Morning Little Jace, are you exercising?"

Jace replied:

"Yes, Uncle Gen. If I don't exercise daily I will grow fat."

Wade glanced at the figure of Jace.

"You should grow fat, you are too thin."

Jace blinked his eyes and looked down at his own figure then became embarrassed.

"I have muscles! I am not thin!"

The two men laughed at Jace's embarrassed face while Jace ran away.

Jace came to the lake area where he met Uncle Cullen and Sir Theon. Due to Uncle Cullen, Sir Theon now also goes fishing every morning.

Jace sneaked up to them and sat beside them.

Uncle Cullen was saying to Sir Theon.

"Those are Sirens that you met, Mermaids are creatures born out of love they never harm other innocent life unless someone has harmed them."

Sir Theon seems to be troubled.

"Is that really a Siren, but it looks like a mermaid, that fishtail too."

Uncle Cullen laughed.

"There are a lot of differences between mermaids and Sirens. Sirens are violent by nature, they can't hide their killing intent be it male or female Sirens, they have it in their blood while mermaids or mermen are calm creatures. They have a unique peaceful aura around them."

Jace suddenly interrupted.

"Uncle Cullen, have you met a mermaid?"

Uncle Cullen and Sir Theon looked back at Jace who had shiny eyes.

Uncle Cullen patted Jace's head.

"Yes, I have indeed met a mermaid...no, it was a whole family."

Theon and Jace looked at Uncle Cullen who continued.

"Most mermaids are born at Solistice or equinox, So there was a mermaid who was pregnant and she came here with her husband 10 years ago to spend the equinox day here so she can give birth. That's when I met the mermaids."

Theon and Jace were surprised.

Theon sighed with emotion.

"In today's era, other races don't interact much with humans much less come near them or live with them. It's really sad when we compare it to history."

Uncle Cullen also sighed.

"Humans have done all wrongs they could do to harm those weak races and got the disgust of almost every race."

Jace couldn't catch the point between these two people and got up to go on his walk.

Loir looked at Jace who had come back with pure confusion written in his eyes.

Jace seemed to have sensed Loir's gaze and looked at Loir with expectation.

"Sir Loir! I have a Question to ask."

Loir pointed at the chair opposite him.

"What's the matter?"

"Sir Loir, Can you tell me a little about other races than humans?"

Loir was puzzled by the question.

"Did you not learn about them from Academy?"

Jace blushed and then he averted his gaze. Definitely a thief.

"I didn't focus much in class before so I know little..."

Sighed, Seemingly expecting such an answer from Jace, Loir said.

"Many people say that 'those' races are weaker than us, But in fact, humans are far weaker than them. Elves are elementals of nature, Spirits have spirit Magic, Vampire has Blood Magic, and Beastpeople has huge strength and can wield many weapons and many more."

Loir glanced at Jace who was excitedly listening so he continued.

"According to history, After Gods ascended all races started to become uncomfortable living in harmony, Human greed and lust got the best of them and they tried to harm mermaids by getting their tears for money and wanted to use elves as s** slaves."

"Dragons were violent by nature and they were irritated by the moment destruction would appear in that area, whilst angels couldn't survive in harmony with naughty and blasphemous Devils."

Jace raised his hand like he was a student listening to a professor's lecture.

"Sir Loir, Why did every race not show their nature in presence of Gods for so many years?"

A small Smirk came off Loir's face, making his face a bit softer.

"Because Gods oppressed them."

Jace was stunned.

"Oppressed? Gods?"

Nodding, Loir continued.

"Gods knew nature of all races as they were once mortal too so they knew that to create a perfect Heaven for all races, they need to seal or oppress the real nature of these races."

Jace sighed, Gods really can't be explained.

"Forget it, Sir Loir, Do you want to take drink tea?"

Loir picked up his book.

"You can make tea?"

Jace felt underestimated.

"Of course! Sir Loir, wait a moment."

After a while, Loir looked at the maroon color of the tea. He picked up the cup lightly and smelled the scent, Mn, nice. The lips touched the tea cup and then Loir took a sip.

Sweet but tart.

Delicious.

Loir opened his eyes.

"Very Good."

Jace smiled with relief. He was proud of his tea brewing skills, Though he can't cook food like his parents he has talent in this field.

Loir looked at the tea and asked.

"Is it Rosella?"

Jace nodded.

"Yes, Have you drank Rosella tea before?"

Hearing this Loir's eyes became nostalgic.

The voice of a man with unique playfulness was speaking:

"So my little disciple don't know how to make tea?"

A cold and calm voice sounded.

"Ha, Like you know how to make tea."

The playful voice sounded full of grievances.

"I just never tried."

The cold voice mocked.

"How about we try now."

"...Ok! I have Rosella tea Leaves, let's see who can make the best tea."

After that, all outer disciples, inner disciples, and even other Magic Masters had to go through the tea training conducted by Grand Mage.

Loir could see that scene like it was just yesterday.

The bright golden hair was made in a messy braid while the tall man had his back to him, His mage gown thrown at the ground while he was making tea.

"I did, I had the chance to drink it...a long time ago."

Jace felt that the atmosphere was weird since a moment ago but he couldn't point where.

Loir stood up.

"Guard Jace, You can tell Guard Theon to leave tomorrow for Capital."

Jace was startled but he nodded vigorously.

"No problem Sir Loir."

In the evening Theon heard about the plans and decided to go by carriage.

"But there is no carriage available, Sir Theon."

Jace asked while eating. Theon also paused, this village was really in a remote area, far from the developed areas.

Loir took a bite of fried rice and a frown appeared on his face.

"Is this cooked by you Guard Jace?"

Jace also tasted the rice and almost vomited.

"Why is it sweet??"

Loir then looked at Theon who immediately shook his head while also taking a bite.

"Agb!"

Theon stood up and went straight to the bathroom.

Loir and Jace looked at each other.

"If Guard Jace and Guard Theon didn't make it, then who?"

Who can make fried rice this sweet and sticky?

Loir sighed and put down the spoon.

"Sir Jace, Can you make the Rosella tea again?"

Jace nodded.

"No problem, My taste buds also clamor for a change."

Jace went to the kitchen, Loir glanced at the bathroom. He stood up and went to a drawer in the guestroom. Took out the medical kit and then took out the vomit-control pill.

Theon came out of the bathroom and sat in the couch and sat down. Loir threw the pill to him.

"Ah? Sir Loir, what is this?"

"It will help you to control vomit."

"Really! Thanks a lot Sir Loir."

At this moment Jace came with two tea cups and saw the pill in Theon's hands and his face became weird.

Theon noticed it.

"What's wrong, Jace?"

Jace glanced at Loir and then at Theon.

"That Sir Theon, is someone pregnant?"

Theon shook his head.

"No, I don't know anyone whose pregnant, Why ask though?"

"Those are pills for pregnant women."

Theon glanced at the pill he almost ate and again wanted to vomit.

"Sir Loir, This..."

Loir took the teacup and took a sip.

"Anyway the function is the same."

Theon:...No!!

The small episode ended and the next morning, Theon went outside the village to get a carriage while Jace helped pack some stuff for the long way.

"Uncle Sugel?"

Jace saw the rare guest at the gate.

Sugel nodded at Jace.

"Is Loir awake?"

"Yes, Sir Loir is awake at the moment."

Sugel went inside and saw Loir who was reading a book and drinking milk.

Loir seemed to have sensed his arrival and glanced his way.

"Uncle Sugel."

Sugel patted Loir's head and sat beside Loir.

"Loir, Child I wish to go with you."

Loir looked at Sugel deeply.

A scene passed his mind.

The man stood alone under the tree, in front was the church where a wedding was taking place. The bride and groom were kissing and the lonely man under the tree showed no expression except the tears in his eyes and the clenched fingers.

Loir asked.

"Uncle Sugel, Is there something important?"

Sugel looked out of the open window and a soft smile appeared at his aloof face.

"Maybe."
