Chereads / A loner's Crazy Life / Chapter 8 - 8.

Chapter 8 - 8.

Although Theon was angry he was equally surprised because the horses didn't make a single sound when the wheels were broken.

This point caused him to be doubtful and cautious.

He signaled Jace to come along.

Sugel saw that the matter seems to be a bit complicated and decided to check with them.

The three of them left Loir alone at home.

Loir looked at their receding backs from the window, when he could no longer see them, he looked a bit right and saw a small round 'ball' following the three of them.

"Somethings just never change."

A bit like an old man's sigh, Loir shook his head helplessly and stood up.

He walked outside, the air was a bit cold however it was early spring so it was fine.

He walked to the opposite side of where Sugel and others went. The area he went to was barren and had no farm or houses in view but there was a small hut far away.

Loir was leisurely in his walk and arrived at the hut in 10 minutes.

He saw a woman who seemed in her early twenties sitting on the bare ground weaving a basket out of dry grass, He stood in place and saw the woman weave it.

She Took one piece of grass and weave it over and under the other two pieces of grass, Continue to weave the grass around the center until she has completed one round.

The woman was serious in her work, there were several scattered baskets around her.

He walked up to the woman, and the woman noticed his arrival.

She was vigilant and hurriedly grabbed her things.

Loir paused in his footsteps.

"I heard you sell baskets?"

The woman paused for a moment and glanced at Loir, he looked absolutely stunning but was wearing commoners clothes, washed many times.

The woman nods her head slightly.

"I do. Do you want to buy?"

Loir looked at the baskets and a scene flashed past his eyes again, several women's and children's bodies were floating above the river and several of them were burned to coke with no one able to see the scene.

In that disgusting and anger-provoking scene, a young child was crying loudly holding a woman.

The child cried tears but his eyes were bloodshot as if he will cry blood any moment.

"Sir?"

The woman's voice broke the scene.

Loir nodded.

"Give me 4...5 actually just give me 10."

The woman was surprised.

She was happy to make money.

"Sir this would be 50 copper coins."

Loir took out his wallet and gave the woman 1 Nexis note of 10. 10 Nexis were equal to 1000 copper coins.

"Sir, This is too much!"

"I don't have a change, if you do, you can change."

The woman was silent, she didn't have a chance to. But this was too much money.

"How about I give you more baskets?"

Loir was silent and then said.

"You can exchange some information for this money."

Hearing this, the woman hesitated for some time but nodded, she can't take this money for her own use.

"Ok Sir, You can ask."

The woman patted her clothes and stood up.

Loir glanced at the village in the distance.

"Since when have they been like this?"

The woman was startled and stared at Loir in surprise.

But she answered.

"It's...10 years Sir."

"Just 10?"

The woman nods.

"As far as I remember Sir its 10 years since they are under control."

"It's not actually the case you think."

The woman was once again surprised.

"No? But Sir they look as if they have been bewitched."

Loir glanced at the woman.

"Then why do you think they can still farm, eat and sleep and most importantly even gossip normally?"

The woman became silent and a fear sprouted in her heart.

Loir knew what the woman was thinking and said.

"Not that too, They are under control but can use their brain."

Seeing that the woman was getting confused and puzzled, Loir stopped talking.

"Just tell me another thing, How many people died since 10 years ago?"

This was a somewhat unexpected topic but the woman knew the answer so she said it.

"27."

Over the span of 10 years, 27 people died in a peaceful village without any proper cause or reason.

Loir nods, took the baskets, and with the help of the woman he put them in the house he stayed in.

The woman thanked him for the money and left.

Loir sat on the chair and looked at those baskets.

'I already tried...so why do I...'

He moved his gaze away from the basket and saw the window, the time was almost noon and the Theon and others were returning. They were talking and laughing, relaxed.

Loir pursed his lips tight, he just can't let go till now.

Thinking so he stood up and walked out of the gate.

Jace saw him first and waved.

"Sir Loir, We did it! We found the person who destroyed the wheels!"

His big smile was a bit stupid but Loir liked the spirit.

"Mn, It's almost lunch, let's eat."

Sugel was surprised by the time.

"Oh right! I almost forgot about the time!"

Sugel hurried inside to prepare lunch while Theon looked dirty and wanted to take a bath.

"Then Sir Loir, I will try to hunt in the mountain! I will be back soon!"

And Jace ran away to hunt. Loir who was once again alone in the living room stood up and walked outside.

The sun shone on his face making his pale face look a bit flushed.

His gaze looked around and caught a purple in the sight and went towards it.

Sugel in the Kitchen called Loir.

"Loir, Do you want tea?"

Not hearing an answer, Sugel came out of the kitchen and saw the empty living room. He was confused and about to go upstairs when he saw the Main door was open.

His face became serious as he realized something.

About to go outside when he paused. He shook his head and went back to the kitchen.

-

Loir grabbed the child who was following him for some time.

"Let go! Let me go!!"

The child looked like 6 or 7 years old, he had big black eyes and he was vigilant all time.

"Why were you following me?"

Loir's cold voice came from above and it startled the little kid.

He shivered and became quiet.

"I was not following you, I was following that demon!"

He pointed toward the forest not far.

There was a shade of purple fluttering in the distance, Loir moved his gaze away and looked at the kid.

"And you still follow it even knowing it's a demon?"

The kid pouted and shouted angrily.

"That demon killed my father and brother! I want revenge!"

Loir was silent. He was weak yet he could easily grab the child and lift him in the air which shows how weak this kid was and he wanted to take revenge on a demon.

However, Loir didn't mock the kid.

"You are young."

The kid shook his head.

"I am not! I am an adult! I can do many things!"

Loir flicked his head.

"And you couldn't save yourself from me? A weak human."

The kid was silent and tears rolled in his eyes.

Seeing this Loir let the kid go and saw the kid run away.

Loir looked away and was about to go to the forest however he suddenly stopped and mumbled.

"He wants revenge?"
