"Why the hell did you let her go?" Lilith asked minutes after my mate slammed the door on her way out. "I don't want to hurt her any more than my world has done", I replied wearily.
Her words were still ringing in my head. I didn't realize just how much she had been enduring since she found out the truth about our world. To think we're mates and I've been ignoring her pain or been oblivious to it was seriously driving me mad.
I have grown to love Asha and her quirky ways. She was definitely weird but anyone could see it was her strength and the way she knew how to cope with everything life had thrown her way, just as she was learning to cope with the curve balls the supernatural world keeps throwing at her.
