Reassuring Asha for the fourth time as we drove home was a little tricky since I had to be shrewd with my words and expressions so she wouldn't pick up on the apprehension I had at the moment.
What I had seen back at the beach was unnerving and I needed to handle my own feelings before piling anything on Asha again. She has been through a lot and just the thought that this might affect her again is scary for me. I don't want to lose her and all these exposés every few days is enough to do just that, most especially at a time like this when she is still troubled by the kidnapping of her mom.
I took my eyes from the road for a few seconds just so I could look at her, her arms wrapped around her body now covered with my jacket, her head leaning on the window as her hair made a waterfall around her face.
