Chapter 2 - Chapter 2:Uncontrollable Thoughts

Kyle freezes at the door. He's sure his heart stopped for a minute.

"Hi, Avery."Oliver says with a devilish grin.

Kyle doesn't say anything. He just stands there and stares. His mind flashes back to the way Oliver touched him. The way he actually kind of...liked it. And the way he hates himself for that.

'Come on! Move! Run! Do something, Kyle!'

Even though he's thinking it, he can't do it. He can't move. Even when Oliver is coming closer to him.

He closes the door behind Kyle, but doesn't move. Kyle's back is on the door and now he's between the door and Oliver. Oliver's arm is pressed against the door and he's close to Kyle again.

"Are you not gonna say anything?"Oliver asks, smiling.

"U-uh-I-"Kyle gulps. "G-get away from m-me, Oliver!"

"Or what? You'll squeal?"he snickers.

"No, I'll punch you. Asshole."he snaps.

'All I have to do is focus on one emotion. Not on my thoughts or on my other feelings. Just one. Anger.'

"Oh-ho, what do we have here? Did you actually just snap at me?"Oliver pretends to be shocked and steps back, touching his chest dramatically.

"Yes. I did."Kyle tries to move away, but Oliver slams him down.

"What is your deal? Why are you doing this, Oliver?"Kyle asks, confused.

"Becuase I want you to know that I won't let you beat me again. You're nothing. I'm the son of a world champion swimmer. I will beat you."He tightens his grip on Kyle's arms.

"So is that why you groped me?"Kyle looks right at his blue eyes.

'Those blue eyes that...are beautiful. They remind me of water. Of a deep ocean that I can drown in.'

Kyle blushes and shakes his head. What is he thinking?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"You won't let any little nobody beat you again, right?"the man sitting across from Oliver asks him.
"No, Dad. I won't."he responds to him, looking out the window. Not exactly to enjoy the scenery, but to not look inside the car. Becuase he's always hated this car. His father hit him across the face inside of it one time when he didn't win his swimming race. A lot of stuff has happened in here. Fights, arguements, etc.
But he hated the man sitting inside of it, across from him, more than anything. He didn't like looking at his face becuase they shared the same eyes. It was something that most people pointed out.
'Oh wow, you have your father's eyes!'they would say. Or 'You look like your father.' It was annoying.
That's why Oliver never liked his eyes or his face becuase he looked like his Dad.
"Good. You better not. You are superior to them, Oliver. Remember that."his cold, harsh voice makes Oliver want to open the car door and run away. He hated this man with every fiber of his being.
"Hm."he didn't want to look at him. Not now, not ever.
"Oliver, you know I love you. I'm harsh becuase the world will be harsher, son."He tries.
"I know. You've said that before."Oliver scoffs.
'I know your lies.'
"I want you to be strong. To be prepared for anything life throws at you."
"I've heard it before, Dad."He sighs and rolls his eyes.
A long silence passes between them. How can silence be so heavy?
"We're here, sir."the driver says, stopping at the university.
"Finally. Bye Leroy."Oliver tells the driver goodbye, to spite his dad, grabs his bag and opens the door.
"Goodbye, Oliver."his dad says. But Oliver doesn't respond. He just slams the door and scoffs.
"Whatever."He walks in and hears two voices that sound familiar.
He doesn't really care. All he wants to do is get to his dorm. His key was already delivered to his house.
"Out of my way, shortie."he tells the person that's blocking his way.
The guy turns around and a face that seems familiar to Oliver stares back. His eyes are big and look innocent. They're the color of leaves when it's spring and they're new. His skin is the color of fresh, ripe peaches and curly hair frames his face beautifully. "I'm not short."
"Sure."he responds. He looks annoyed, but it's kinda cute.
'Wait, what are you thinking, Oliver?'
"Wait, you seem familiar."the boy looks Oliver up and down. Oliver growls under his breathe. If this guy says he looks like 'that one swimmer',his dad, he's gonna lose it. "What's your name?"
"Oliver. Oliver Brown."a look of realization crosses the other boy's face. Oh boy. Here it comes.
"Oli?"he asks.
Oh. That's not what he thought he was gonna say. "Don't call me that!"
Nobody ever calls him that. The only person who called him that was his mother...but she passed away when Oliver was eleven years old.
"It's Kyle. Kyle Avery. You used to bully me all the time. For being short."
Of course! How could he forget him? "Oh, right. You were the top swimmer in our school. Always hated that."
'I have to beat him if I want to be a top swimmer. Like Dad. I need to intimidate him somehow. Or do something to slow him down.'
"Oh yeah. You were the asshole who grabbed his butt before the competition to embarrass him."The girl behind Kyle says. She sounds angry.
Oliver gets an idea. A bad idea, but it'll work. He hopes. "That's right. That was me."He can't help the grin that just appeared on his face.
He watches as Kyle's peachy skin turns a deathly white. But then it turns to red and he gets flustered. "D-don't remind him, Leah."
"I still remember it as clear as day."he walks closer to the boy. "You know you like it, shortie."
"N-no! I didn't! I almost lost becuase of that."Kyle tries to back away from Oliver. But he hits the wall behind him.
'Come on, Oliver. Do this for Mom.'
"That's why I did it, idiot."He's done this before, but he plans to make it different this time.
'You won't beat me again, Avery.'
"What's your dorm number?"Oliver asks Kyle. He doesn't even know of he wants to share a room with this guy. He kind of does though. Only becuase then he'll be able to watch his rival more. Not becuase he likes the idea of being in the same room with Kyle...alone.
Of course not. What is he thinking? 'Get a grip on yourself man.'
"I don't know. Leah got the key for me."Kyle responds. He's struggling and trying to push Oliver away, but Oliver is much bigger than Kyle.
They're both very strong, since they're both athletic. And they also swim the same sport, but Oliver is taller and stronger.
"Really?"Oliver's says. Kyle shivers with as Oliver traces his hand down Kyle's blue jeans.
Oliver positions himself so he covers Kyle and Leah can't see what he's about to do to.
He squeezes slightly and Kyle jumps, shutting his eyes. "A-ah, stop i-it!"
For some reason, Oliver kind of...liked that.
'Come on, Oliver! What the hell are you thinking? This is just to make him intimidated.'
"I'm not doing anything."He keeps grinning at Kyle, who looks extremely uncomfortable. Just what he wanted.
"Hey let him go!"Leah snaps at him, putting her hands on her hips and staring at him coldly.
He turns slightly to Leah and lies innocently while squeezing tighter."But I'm not doing anything. I just wanna talk to him about swimming."
Kyle's face, ears, and even his neck are red with embarrassment. "A-ahh. O-Oliver!"
Oliver turns back to look at the boy who looks incredibly uncomfortable. His eyes fall to Kyle's soft looking lips. He think about how soft and smooth they must be...
Shaking his head, he let's go and steps back."I'm gonna have fun ending you."
He doesn't show what he's feeling on the inside. Or all the thoughts he's having. And how he can't control them.
When you grow up with an abusive father, it's almost natural not to show how you feel. Like a second nature. Sometimes it's hard for Oliver to show how he feels or to understand what he's feeling.
Instead he just grins and walk away from an annoyed Leah and a confused Kyle.
"I won't let anyone get in my way ever again."the grin disappears the moment he turns around.
'I'll become better than anyone and everyone here. Even better than my dad.'
