ERICA
"What are you doing here?" I yelled.
Samuel quickly jerks off holding onto Amy's hand and hid behind Hades hiding his small figure. "Why are we hiding Uncle Sam?" Amy asked. Hades just chuckles at the scene. I sighed. We were all supposed to be inside of Olympus not out the entrance. The cause of this misdirection from the portal was Samuel's human presence. Zeus had set it that way so that no human beings can get in. I can understand that Samuel wanted to come here to fight with us and protect us, but he is not a god. He doesn't have this ability. Once we all enter Olympus we're going to enter a battlefield.
"Erica," Hades intervened. "It's actually safer for them to be here with us than to be in the mansion. After all, the Ancient Ones did figure out your whereabouts. They could use these two as bait to lure you into a trap."
"This is already a trap," I complained.
"Samuel, come here for a second won't you?" Hades commanded.
"Y-yes," Samuel stutters. He walked up slowly beside Hades.
"In front," Hades demanded.
Samuel came up to Hades feeling uncomfortable he was still holding onto Amy's hand. She was looking around the place and looking at every one of us. She could probably feel that everyone here is not themselves including her own mother, Fay. Meanwhile, Hades was looking at Poseidon. Poseidon sighed and crouched down. "Come here, Amy," Poseidon asked gently but she didn't take a step closer to him.
"You're not grandpa," she said shaking her head not wanting to take in Poseidon's hand. It was nice to see her act like that, to be wary of strangers even though they may look like someone she knows.
"Come here, Amy," I said.
"Ok," she said immediately recognize that I always remains the same as I took her hand into mine. I smile.
Hades and Samuel were in the center of everyone's attention. I don't know what Hades was planning, but he is never an attention seeker. Hades was just looking at Samuel and observing him. "You don't have an affinity for darkness," he commented and puts a hand under his chin to think. "But your powers do resemble someone I know."
Poseidon's eyes immediately went big and round. "That's right he has the affinity to life. The total opposite of Hades," he played.
Hades just rolls his eyes and continued to talk to Samuel. "You have a connection to the goddess Hebe and with the right tool you can channel the goddess powers like this we don't have to worry about you on the battlefield." We were all watching Hades wondering what he is actually doing. He clutched his hand and face towards Samuel once he opens a gold wing necklace laid hanging in his fingers. It was reflecting the light of the sun. Hades turns Samuel around and put the necklace around his neck.
The second the necklace was around his neck Hades quickly walked backward. I took Amy into my arms and flew to the sky. We all did. We'd sense it. Something is changing Samuel. The necklace was having a reaction to him. He was looking at the back of him as a pleasant aura ignited around him. Throughout, the process I watched Hades expression it was soft and happy. It was a nice sight to see the god of the underworld smiling like that.
When the light from the necklace disappeared there was a pair of golden wings behind him matching the necklace on him. Samuel gave one flap of his wings and flew up towards the sky. "Whoa," Samuel lets out a voice of excitement. "This is beyond crazy. You are all beyond crazy," he shook his head and looked at Hades. "Thank you, Hades."
"Don't sweat it," Hades said. The Lord of the Underworld looked at me and I nod he has the power of a goddess running inside him. He will be able to enter the Olympus in this state. My daughter was looking at me.
"And how the hell do you have Hebe necklace?" Poseidon questions.
"You're so noisy, Poseidon."
"We all have been noisy, to begin with."
"Would you both, please, for at least one second not argue with one another?" Jamison intercepts.
"Fine," Poseidon and Hades said at the same time.
I looked down at my daughter in my arms as she looked back up at me. "Amy, once we're inside Olympus put a barrier around yourself, and when they're scary monsters attacking you don't hesitate to use your powers on them."
"Got it, mom," she smiles.
I kissed her forehead and I nod to others. All of us started to march up to the stairs and headed towards the battlefield. Samuel flew beside me. Phobos started to pour out her suppressing aura. For a minute, I was a little affected by it and the wound that was caused by the bat throbbed in pain. My sight was blurry but I ignored it. We were all here. I can't show any signs of weakness. It took a couple of seconds when my eyesight returns.
Samuel turns to look at me. He must have noticed my expression but I shake my head telling him not to worry about it and placed my hand on him. When we reached inside everything was quiet it was too quiet. It doesn't look like there was a fight here. Everything was in place and organized.
I carefully set my daughter onto the floor. "I see dark energies," Amy said. "They are everywhere. Mom, we're inside a maze."
"Dark energy?" Hades said and smiles. "Time for supper." He held a hand out and when we all realized what was happening Hades was converting all that energy into a ball onto the palm of his hand. The energy wasn't so large for Hades to consume so I am guessing that there are more ahead of us.
All of us walked towards the hall. When we noticed there were bats hanging upside down from the palace ceilings all of us had to stand our guard. I let out a little magic. "It's the dark energy again," Amy's expression was worrisome.
I land myself on the ground. The bats seem to be sleeping they seem like they haven't noticed our presence. We all stayed quiet. While all the bats were sleeping all of us were slipping out our magic bit by bits. Hades tried to create a shadow to cover all of the bats to destroy all of them at once. I summoned my ice magic into the air just in case anything goes wrong.
When Hades almost completed the shadow one of the bats awoke its beady red eyes. It turns its sight on us and gawks causing the rest to slowly wake up and gawks at us. Hades immediately tried to devour most of them with his shadow, but one-third of them escapes making us all fight the one-third of them. It was a good thing Deimos quickly used his ability to terrorized the bats.
They all ran wanted to get out of the hall, but Hades traps them with his shadow with just that their only choices is to push forward but as they did I placed all the shards into their hearts and pulls it out.
"Talk about fear," Phobos complimented.
I didn't say anything and walked deeper into the palace our goal in this palace is to save Zeus. When we reached the throne room. A woman was sitting in the middle trapped in gold chains. Immediately, I recognized that woman. I place my hand over to my lips to hide my surprise.
Only one word left my mouth. "Mom?"
