Chapter 34 - THIRTY-THREE: The Fox Shrine

ERICA

"Olive Jamison. My brother."

He held a wooden horse doll in his hand trembling. I can't help but smile at him. He still has it after all these centuries. He still has the wooden doll that I gave him in the past, but I knew why he was shaking so bad. He had stolen something from me that cause me my death in the past. He is filled with guilt and wished that this day had never come, but I wasn't angry at him. I am happier more than to be angry at him for being alive in all these years.

"Sister," he said. He looks so old now. He is much older than me now. The little brother that I knew is now all grown up. I know why he is shaking so badly, but he confronted his fear and came out to meet me for that I am very proud of him for not hiding away from me. "I am sorry," he said. "I only wanted to protect you. I didn't know it was going to kill you." Camila stared at us like she didn't understand the situation.

"Camila," I said. "Do you mind if you give us some time together?"

Camila nods. "I will come back soon."

I nod. "Thanks, love, for everything. Take care of Fay for me."

"I will," she smiles and she walks out of the room giving me space to talk to my brother. He was sulking deep in thought.

"Stop sulking, Jamison. This look doesn't suit your face. You were always happy to go, lucky person." I tried to stand up but my legs were still pretty weak so I ended slipping down hitting the ice floor with my knees my wrist hanging up on the air from because of the chains. I groaned.

Jamison crouched next to me. "Are you ok, sis?"

I nod. "I have never thought a day like this will come, brother. You don't have to feel guilty over this, Olive. I know you took it away because you thought it would save me, but right now, I need it back Olive. If I don't have it I can't possibly beat the ancient ones."

He sighed. "I knew you would say that, but Nora you know once you defeat the ancient one you know what would happen to you right?"

"Of course, I know," I said. "I will end up like dad."

"Or worse," he spat. "All this time our house was built near the fox shrine and how you would always go there because of some connection you have to that place. It is because we are a part fox. Our dad died because he went up against the ancient ones and then he was left forgotten by his descendants. The reason these chains can't hold you here is that you are part of the scroll of mother earth's main creation. You are one of the strongest gods out there, a hybrid god."

"It is my duty to end the ancient one. The mother scroll created me for that purpose."

"No! It isn't," he yelled which it took me by surprise. He never raised his voice against me before this was the first. "Right now, you are Erica Von Lumia, the leader of the Lumia Family you have the mission to protect your wife and family this is your purpose right now not fighting the ancient ones. You know how powerful they are."

I smile at his concerns but this is something far greater and I just simpy can't ignore it. "Yes, you're right," I admitted. "Right now I am Erica Von Lumia, but even if I stay here they are still going to find me, brother. I can't beat them if you don't give me back my fox bead, and when they come they will slaughter anyone who stands in their way you included, brother. The ancient one has always lived a life without fear until the scrolls of mother earth created dad and me giving us the power to defeat anyone and anything including the ancient one. They killed every fox tribe to find us and when they do I will be the god to be sacrificed in their ritual in order to stop mother earth.

They created mother earth to create a law, little did they know, the scrolls of mother earth immerged all their powers to become an individual being on Earth that has become indestructible, unless, they have the blood of the original fox god and I am from his bloodline. You have his bloodline too, Olive. We are his only children."

"Not as much as you do, Nora. The mother earth chose you to inherit dad fox bead and then it decided to throw you another supernatural blood inside of you making you a hybrid. The scrolls of mother earth should never have existed in the first place."

"I agree, but as far as you want to make me not to engage in a war against the ancient ones, brother. I still have to fight them eventually. I am telling you, Olive. The ancient ones are all bloodthirsty superhumans."

"Fine," he says upset that he couldn't change my mind. Though, I appreciated it. He took the wooden doll in his hand and broke it. I stared at him in shock when the fox bead came out of the doll. He had hidden it inside his favorite toy. He brought the fox bead up to my mouth and I swallowed it. Everything inside of me started to feel warm. The ice inside the room started to subside. "Nora, if there is any harm to come to hurt. I will take away the fox bead again. Besides, only I and the ancient one can take away the fox bead since I have the blood of the original fox god in my veins as well. It is the only way that you will be reincarnated again."

"Please do," I admitted. "Please get Samuel or my dad. I don't want to stay in this torture room for another second."

Olive Jamison laughs. "I'll be back with your dad."

I nod. He left the room in a hurry with a smile on his face. It looks like all the pressure he thought of me being mad at him has been relieved. I looked up at the chains. I can get out of this easily now with my fox bead back but I don't want to destroy them they come in handy when we capture some mafias that actually possessed magic so that they won't retaliate.

Not a second later Jamison came in with my dad. My dad was smiling down at me and unlock the chains. I nearly toppled on the floor but my brother was already on the ground ready to catch me. My legs were in the state of jellyfish. "Jamison, can't you do some healing power right now?"

"Erica, you have been sleeping like this for one whole week. It's an overdue date for my ability to work." I groaned. "But I can carry you right now, sis. After all, I am all grown up." He laughs.

"Yea and whoa, a week. huh? I want to see Fay and I can already imagine the pile of paperwork I need to get done."

"No worries," dad said. "I have look over some of the paperwork and most of them I have gotten done for you while you were asleep for the whole entire time."

I wince. "Thanks, dad."

He shakes his head. "Please do not make me worry again, Erica. I swear ever since your powers have awoken you have gotten yourself into some serious problem."

"Yea, I know. I'll try my best to stay out of trouble."

"Good," he smiles. "Because there are piles of paperwork that need to be done by today. Now I can resume my position as the advisor. And why is Jamison calling you sis?"

"Long story, dad," I said. "I will tell you next time." My dad looks at me confused, but then later he had to leave to meet with the Aztec family to discuss something about dealing with weapons." I shooed my dad away and let Jamison carry me up into my room. My shoulders, back, and legs relaxed when they found the comfort of my own bed. I wanted to sleep.

"Olive," I called. "How is it possible that you are still here?"

"Sis, do you remember Manni?"

"Yes, of course I do."

"I am like her, an immortal except I made her."

My mouth turns into a giant O. "You made her?"

"Yes, sis. I have been granted the power to create beings like me since I am an original immortal."

"Erica?" Fay's voice came into the room her hand searching for a support and the other in Amy's. When my daughter saw me her eyes turns big.

"Mom, your color is so beautiful. It's glitter gold with all kinds of different shades of blue! 7, 8,... 9. Whoa... mom you have nine tails!" she exclaimed. I laughed.

"Amy you have a beautiful color too. I see four different colors. You are without a doubt a priestess."

"You can see it too? Are you also priestess?"

"No, little one. I'm a hybrid."
