Marrina Da Silva, soon to be, Marrina Da Silva Zimmermann, walked into the building, her heels hitting the floor.
She was dressed in a blue two piece dress that stopped just some inches above her knees. Her hair was neatly put in a tight low bun, giving way for her diamond crusted drop earrings to be seen.
Her fingers wrapped around the hand of the new black bag she'd bought just that afternoon, on her way there. The engagement ring she wore proudly on the finger of her right hand was quite noticeable as she took off the black shades she'd worn.
A smile graced her face as she walked to the table her fiancée was seated at. Zyaire stood up with a smile and she rushed over and hugged him, his arms wrapping around her too.
"Hey baby" she said releasing him. They sat down at the table and Marrina dropped her bag down the empty chair beside her.
"You're late" he said with a small smile
"I'm so sorry sweetie. I had to drop by the boutique and get a new bag" she said absentmindedly as she picked up her bag and took out her phone
"A new bag? Why?" He asked with a raise of his brow
"I didn't like the other one. I don't know what possessed me to carry it out in the first place" she says casually and Zyaire just nodded, looking at her
"So, what did you want to talk to me about?" She asked dropping her phone on the table and looking at him
"Us" he said simply and she shifted in her seat. "Let's get married" he said and she heaved out a breath
"Zyaire..."
"Marrina, we've been engaged for two years now. Isn't it time to get married?" He asked and she sighed
"Zyaire, not right now. Besides why are you so eager to get married, our relationship is going great as it is" she said with a small frown
"I don't know, maybe because I love you?" He said like he had every time she asked him that.
They had started dating seven years ago and like his father, two years ago, he had asked her to marry him at her birthday party.
He hadn't missed the hesitation on her face when she was to give her reply. Perhaps due to the applause and 'say yes' that came from the crowd of people at her party, she said yes.
They got engaged only a month later and since then, she had always avoided the topic of marriage. She was good at coming up with excuses at to why she didn't want to get married then and when she didn't have any excuse to give, she got angry and walked away.
"Baby, I love you too but I mean, we don't need to jump into marriage right now" she says taking his hand in hers
"My father wants us to get married at the earliest, he wants a grandchild. He's not in the best condition, you know that" Zyaire says and her hands leaves his
"A grandchild? No no no, I can't carry a baby. Not at this stage" she says with a glare
"What?" Zyaire asks, not believing his ears. Did she hear him say it was for his father?
"Zyaire, I said no. I'm a model, Zyaire, I need my body to be the way it is -perfect" she says "I have so much to do for my career for the next few years and you're talking about me having a baby? I don't even want to get married yet"
"Marrina, what the hell are you talking about? You..."
"Zyaire, don't even start. Do whatever you have to do but I'm not getting married anytime now and certainly not carrying a baby" she said standing up and picking up her bag
She put on her shades and walked out the building without a word from her or Zyaire.
Had she just walked out on him? Fine, he was going to do what he had to do. No hesitations.
