Chapter 3
LOU RIVERS
After a three day stay in a hotel, my father and I headed to the airport going back to our homeland, Zala.
It's also the country where the Emperor and his Luna, the highest rulers of all werewolves in the globe reside.
And yes, we stayed in a hotel and not in the woods.
'duh'
In this modern time, werewolves are the most influential beings walking on earth.
Blending with the humans, my kind holds the power, money, asset, resources and the list goes on, in every industry that deemed beneficial to us as a whole.
But of course— in secret. The knowledge of my kind has been kept away from the humans.

A man, giving off a scent of my kind, picked us up at the airport and drove us out of the city, going to the place where my home for two years would be.
The road we had taken got narrower and narrower; from several lanes down to two. Also, from skyscrapers to towering trees on the side of the road.
I shifted my weight and felt the air brushed through my untidy long wavy brown hair while spinning in my right hand, was my anxiety reliever toy— a hand spinner.
I have always a hand spinner with me, at anytime and at anywhere I go. Spinning it has become even a habit, like it's a part of me.
Though, there's an inexplicable truth behind it. I have it for a reason and definitely not for anxiety.
I curved up a smile when I noticed the helplessness of my father, as he tried so hard to start and make an interesting conversation with the man driving us but miserably failed.
The man was so timid.
The words he said during the ride could just be counted with the number of fingers on my hand.
It's unlikely that he despises us though, I could not sense any hostility in him. Maybe he's just a person not up for a talk, that is.
The trip was long until I smelt several scent of my kind driven by the wind around.
'ahem'
We rode in a car of folded roof.
'duh'
Anyways, as we are getting closer to the packhouse of the Noble Blood Pack, I sensed a powerful oppressive aura. An aura that only Alpha possesses.
Then a really huge house came into view that I believe is the packhouse but we just passed it. The car turned in a corner and stopped in front of a two story house adjacent to the huge one we just passed by.
The timid man opened the main door and motioned us to pass through.
I mouthed 'thank you' which he returned with a nod.
Once inside, I ran my gaze around a very cozy home. From the lighting fixtures, the blinds, to the furniture, just everything in the house screamed luxury.
I looked up when I sensed somebody's presence. There stood a woman, leaning forward on the railing in the upper floor.
She was gaping and tearing up as she looked at me.
"Oh, Louchie," she said lovingly after running down the staircase and engulfing me into a tight hug.
I hugged her back, "How are you Luna Rachel?"
"Oh dear, I'm doing fine—"
"And look at you, you've grown so much," she said while running her gaze up and down my whole frame.
Rachel is a woman in her fifty's, a Luna. She gave me another smile and another hug, pressing her body against me even more.
I took in her warmth.
I felt loved.
I always do everytime we meet. She's like a mother to me, a mother that I never had.
"She'd grown splendidly," my father butt in from the kitchen.
I groaned and Rachel released me. We both turned to him. Then I saw his eyes flicker, as he directed his gaze towards the Luna.
Immediately, my gaze drifted back to the woman beside me and I saw her about to bend her knee and bow down to my father but did not push through after seeing the flickering of my father's eyes.
I rubbed the back of my head and pretended I didn't notice anything.
Then the front door flew open, a man of power emerged, beaming a smile to my father.
And like the Luna, I saw his knee about to bend too, but then again did not push through.
I took a glance to my father and I saw him shake his head slightly, almost unnoticeable.
Turning back my gaze to Alpha Hans, I noticed his brows furrowed like insisting his cause but complied anyway.
He straightened up his posture and the two male shook hands, engaged in a small talk then Alpha Hans turned to me, embracing me in light hug.
"Welcome Louchie," he smiled and I returned it back. Also, I was internally groaning at the sound of my modified name.
Even the Alpha calls me 'Louchie' when my name is just Lou, Lou Rivers.
'ugh'
I'm really blaming my father to that.
[***************]
After a while of initial catching up with the Alpha and Luna, the man who picked us up in the airport which I learned to be the Gamma, the Head of Intelligence Sector of the pack, guided us towards the packhouse where our affiliation will be officially announced.
On our way, with the heightened senses of a werewolf, I could already hear indistinctive chatters from several people, the tinkling of glasses and a moderate volume of music coming from the packhouse.
After taking a few more steps, we entered a very large living room that screamed elegance.
As we made our way inside, a few glanced our way and most paid no mind.
I adjusted my hoodie to not show so much of my face. I prefer not to show off.
'duh'
'ahem'
Though, this is one thing that I can't do anything about at all and can't hide— being a drop dead gorgeous.
'bleh'
'hahaha'
I have a long brown wavy hair that do not match my wolf, my wolf is ash gray. I have green eyes that matches the forest and would sparkle under the moonlight.
I have a high cheekbone and a dimpled smile. My skin is fair too and due to my wolf, I have a defined muscles and curves in the right places. Also, I have long toned legs that men drooled over.
'duh'
A lot of men would flirt and itch to get me laid but unfortunately, I don't swing that way.
In a sea of attractive men and a few tagging women, my eyes would still linger on the women.
'ahem'
Yeah, I'm gay.
… and that's a thing I'm not hiding from anybody.
'hahaha'
