Chapter 4 - Submission

Chapter 4

LOU RIVERS

I was tagging along with my father as we made little talks with a few good old friends. There were a few in the pack that we knew from all the travels and through my father's line of work.

Unlike the Alpha and Luna back there, who attempted to give reverence to my father, no one in this room did.

My father's job as a 'royal messenger' does not really means so much to the nobles.

For them, he's only a royal dog, dotted by the Emperor.

'huh'

'if they only knew'

'tsk'

For a while now, we were just casually talking with the one's we knew as we wait for the Alpha and Luna to make an appearance.

As I was unconsciously spinning the 'hand spinner' in my hand, I heard someone yell out my ever 'modified' name that it reverberated in the entire living room.

"Louchiechie—"

I whipped my neck to the sound and saw a girl running towards me in human speed.

And without warning, she leapt and threw herself on me, wrapping her legs around my waist. Feeling the need, I held her thighs securely and spun her a couple of rounds.

"I'm so glad that you're here," she said while nuzzling in the crook of my neck, her voice cracking.

I patted her back, "It's good to see you again Maggie."

She tightened her grip on me and after a good while, she finally let go.

She stared at me longingly for a second and it faded as fast as it came and been replaced with her famous smirk.

A smirk that will make you run not to be a victim of her mischievous mind.

Then there it was, the unthinkable happened that I got no time to react as I was having a hard time processing her action.

She pulled down my hoodie that it covered my face— fully, got hold of the laces, pulled it together that it choked me and tied them so tight on my neck.

She then held my shoulders and spun me a around vigorously, a humorous way at that; ninety degrees to the right, a hundred eighty degrees to the left and finally a full circumference while laughing her ass out.

I was dumfounded that I had to keep up my feet with my body as she did all that to me.

'what the—'

"Holy, you still look so damn hot Louchiechie," she exclaimed while covering her mouth as she gaped in awe at me, her eyeballs rolling over my body.

I gnashed my teeth, took off the hood that's covering my face and glared sharply at the girl; my neck still choked by the lace though.

I think I looked like shit too.

But she just smiled at me, unfazed of my glare.

By then, she yelped as someone pulled her up by the collar, her feet lifted up a ruler from the ground, that she was choking like I did.

'wow'

'karma is real'

A man growled right at Maggie's face before releasing her. He growled once again before turning his attention to me and in swift move, engulfed me in a hug.

He was crouching down a little as he is taller . His arms rippling with muscles were wrapped around my slender frame. I look fragile under him.

'ugh'

Well, despite his drool-worthy body; to some that is, I still prefer the one's that is soft to the touch— the one's like that of a woman.

'ahem'

'hahaha'

So I was not captivated by his mountains of coiling physique at all but I do admit, he's a good looking man.

"It's been a while Lou," he said after releasing me.

"Yeah, indeed Marc."

Marc is the son of Delta Magnus, the Head of the Knights. While Maggie is a knight in training. They are warriors of the pack providing security and protection.

I met them several times during my travels. I always see Maggie with Marc during those times. Maggie is the type that is vocal and free spirited while Marc is a man of few words and intimidating.

Our friendship just took a leap and bounds after we faced that life and death situation two years ago; a situation of survival.

'tsk'

And so much for not wanting attention from everyone in this pack, the scenario with Marc and Maggie just blew me away.

Good thing, the Alpha and Luna were just in time that everyone's attention diverted away from me and drifted to the leaders.

Echoing around, making the chandeliers on the ceiling, the glasses on the table and a lot more of things around the living room, to shake as Alpha Hans growled— in his Alpha tone.

The Alpha tone: the sound of power, of dominance.

Immediately, everybody submitted— 'at attention' .

'at attention'

Standing, unmoving, and bending a little forward, are the stance for submission.

… stomach in but shoulders droop,

…heels together but toes apart,

…an arm folded along the stomach, the other folded in the back,

…never chin up: head down, eyes fixated on the ground.

All these would take forever not unless the Alpha eases so.

Also, the weaker wolves tend to whimper in fear, tucking their tails between their hind legs in a werewolf's consciousness; the same when shifted.

But me—

The stance of 'at attention' or any form of submission seems the hardest thing to do.

While everyone in the room did so, I just stood there unfazed.

Well yes, I've heard someone growled but I can't feel fear or any authority over me in the sound.

And like I always have, I was the last one to bow down.

Yeah, unlike others, I bow down on bended knee but—

…but it's not really bowing down, I just picked up my hand spinner that I purposely dropped to fall on the ground, and try my best to make it look like I'm bowing, submitting to someone's power when I'm really not.

'ugh'

Times like this, my hand spinner comes in handy 'cause to submit to anybody will cause me internal conflict with Adolphus.

Yeah, Adolphus— my wolf.

~ I am Adolphus ~

~ Tremble upon my name ~

~ Crouch down with tucked tail ~

~ Submit or I will have no mercy ~

'grrrr'
