Han Zhuoli wandered around aimlessly with his hands in his pocket. His figure was very eye catchy even though he was wearing casual clothes.
It was the weekend and he slipped out of the university feeling bored now that this 'mother' stopped taking care of him.
He looked at the tall building in front of him and hesitated to enter it. Today was the day when the little dispensible character 'Han Zhuoli' committed suicide in the original novel and he jumped from the building which was right before him.
He straightly headed toward the roof not distracted from the mob of people who were walking around shopping. He opened the door and breathe in a long fresh air hoping to dispel the suffocation that almost made him breathless.
He looked at the gorgeous view from the top and leaned against the railing lost in thoughts.
His phone vibrated inside his pockets and he took it out slowly not wanting to talk to anyone at that moment. He glanced at the caller and saw that it was his best buddy and answered it reluctantly.
"Where are you? Where have you gone dumping all the work on me again?" Xu Feiqun lively voice broke out in the quiet atmosphere
"Brother Li, This is your company. I'm telling you no one would work as much as me even if you give them a heap of money as their salary. No one would be willing to work like a donkey for you"
Xu Feiqun eventually stopped talking when he realized that Li was silent on the other side. Feiqun had always believed in his instinct and he felt that Li was weird today, very weird.
"Brother Li?"
"I will give you leave after you finish your work this time."
"Go back to your work" Li hanged up not giving another chance to feiqun to talk.
Li pushed his phone inside his pocket feeling very distressed. Li didn't know what to expect of himself in this life. He wasn't sure of it anymore.
He rose to the top from the very bottom in his previous life. He dabbled in almost every profession to become as much as practical today. The way he intercepted every attack from his 'mother' wasn't because he was lucky, it was all the result of his hard work in his previous life.
He had already lost his reason to live. All the suffering and heavy struggle in his previous life had already taken his keenness to live in this hypocritical world.
He knew that his family and others could only support him so far to keep his reasons to live, if he wanted to live any further he needed an anchor to keep him in this world but even that desire to live and want wasn't there anymore.
If someone had told him that he would live a life like this today then he would have already admitted that person to a mental hospital as there wouldn't be anyone who cherished life more than him then.
He valued life more than anything else because he knew how hard it was for him just so he could stay alive for a day. When he finally reached the top crawling and staggering, he was once again pushed to the bottom.
He was hit too hard when he fell after all that suffering and hard work, he had given up upon himself.
His values and beliefs which he relied upon to live another day were shattered and he couldn't bear to repair them again.
He was hopelessly pushed into the abyss and he didn't want to get out of it either.
Unexpectedly, He was given another chance to live but sadly he didn't want to live anymore.
He laughed at himself self-deprecating,
He didn't know from when he has become a coward always hiding and running away from the past, refusing to acknowledge it.
He was tired.
The closed-door was suddenly banged open and Qi Cheng rushed in hurriedly, breathing heavily.
Qi Chen looked at the person who had already become an important part of his life.
Li was facing the door leaning against the railing as the wind blew away his hair.
Qi Cheng stepped forward and moved closer to Li who was still drowned in his feelings unable to come out of it. His heart started acing painfully looking at Li who was almost in a daze.
Qi Cheng rushed into Li arms and gave him a tight hug wanting to share his warmth with the only person who had provided him so much warmth that another person could never provide in his life.
Li looked down at the furry head in a daze and realized that he was suddenly hugged feeling the warmth around him. He lowered his head and breathe in the unique scent of the youth feeling a lot peaceful than before.
"What are you doing here?" Li asked quietly as his voice was blown away in the wind
"Xu Feiqun called and asked me to check up on you" Qi Cheng voice never had so many emotions as it had at that moment
"You weren't picking up your phone"
The cold wind made Li a little sober. He felt that it was impossible to find him in such a short time after all no one knew his whereabouts. And he just picked up the call from his friend moments ago. He was a little suspicious;
"I..don't want to live like this. I am exhausted." Li said his thought which was hidden deep in his heart and he carefully observed Qi Cheng reaction
Li was depressed but he wasn't going to commit suicide. He didn't want to lower himself any more than he already was, he just wanted to take a little time to manage his emotions.
He never thought that he would meet the protagonist there and face a shocking surprise.
Qi Chen immediately panicked and the hands around Li tightened. His voice sounded calm but it couldn't hide the tremor "Why?"
Li sighed and it was as he thought, His idea itself was very absurd. He didn't know the specific time when that happened but he was now sure that Qi Cheng had been reborn.
Li stayed silent not answering and Qi Cheng didn't bother to ask him again. He slowly removed his hands from the reborn protagonist and took out his phone. He had several missed calls, he raised his brow when he saw that most of them were from his father and his seatmate.
None from the said person who asked Qi Cheng to check on him.
He dialled back his father number and it was picked up instantly.
"Something?"
Li frowned when he noticed that his father wasn't replying to him. He checked his phone and saw that it was still in the call
"It has been a long time since you have gone back home. Can you come back today?" Han Ying replied after a short silence with some hidden expectations
"Okay" Li hung up the phone and looked at his seatmate who was looking at him innocently
Han Ying leaned on the steering of the car and breathe in a long sigh of relief.
Unbeknownst to Li, Han Ying pulled back his car which was almost near the building where Li was currently facing the reborn protagonist.
