"You did not have to show him your sass. Now he will think twice before coming for the next contract."
Courtney said the moment they got inside the pop star, Monsoon's mansion . The room was of the size of a tennis court.
"I had to tell him that. It was necessary. It is twice this month, he bought me the job to either sneak in a file from a high corporation and then today, steal the man's phone. He is misunderstanding me as some pickpocket or worst a thief."
Alister let out as she tried to pull down the zipper behind of the dress. Courtney rolled her eyes.
"It is the same thing."
Courtney said, huffing, " ...almost."
"It is not the same thing...not even almost..."
Alister stormed out right away, trying harder to get the zipper down and get the hell out of this dress before the lady of the dress came and found out that all these while, her both paid shopper were actually the ones who sneaked in on her designer clothes to get their underworld business done.
"Look. As long as we are getting paid, it really does not matter. All we need is the money for your nana."
Courtney pointed out as she walked behind Alister and helped her get the zipper done and slip the black dress out of her petite body after Alister stepped out of it.
"I know why we need the money Ney. I m trying to get us as much as we can as fast as we can. But...but I do not want to be a thief..more like stealing things for others or stealing for yourself. .... It would not make much difference between me and her."
Alister mumbled the last part in a whisper. She did not really want to be like her. Even though in the end she followed her footsteps joining the same academy of seduction and enrolling herself as a professional spy as her body was the weapon that did not end well.
"I see you are going back to memory lane but let's not go there. Once I m done with setting this lady..."
Courtney said referring to the dress with her hand, " We will be out ok? So you get those earrings off and those shoes..."
"These are mine. You bought them for me. Remember?? With wrong shoe size number. Ney."
Alister spoke as she got in the pose to get the diamond studs off of her ears. They were so heavy. It was killing her earlobes.
"Yeah..yeah. I remember now. I will just keep this in the wardrobe and we go ok?"
Alister nodded her head in Ney's direction as she walked away inside the ballroom size wardrobe.
Once they were done, both of them headed out of the mansion of Monsoon Meirs and got to their mini rental apartment.
It was very small but it gave them the shelter they needed to spend the night off before they went out in the day to work.
Plus they would be so tired from working all day in three jobs that they would come home only to sleep their tiredness away.
The next morning was up soon and in the broad sunlight, Ney and Alister were busy selling the hot cross buns down the Manhattan Alley in the moving van, owned by their apartment owner.
That helped them cutting out ten percent of the rent they would have to pay if they were not helping him in selling the hot cross buns.
Plus the people around the corner liked the buns and usually on the Monday mornings, it was full with all of them.
Who would not like to have a hot bun by the street with a cup of mocha coffee??
"Can you get the buns from the oven?? I m doing the payment."
Ney asked Alister as she went on typing away the bills of customers in line. Alister nodded in approval without mentioning that she had to go and buy a dress in silver for Monsoon Meirs in ten minutes from any Dior store she could find.
The moment she was going off, she saw Jeff coming in the direction of their van with a man in a suit which this time did not look like some old man but a young man instead.
Ney noticed it and stormed near Alister. She knew that how Ster made it clear to Jeff about not bringing any more men to her but they needed the money and for the first time in five years, they were getting a good line of customers, not to mention the rich ones and not the mediocre ones who used to bargain a lot.
"I know what you are thinking..."
"No..no I do not give a crap about what you think I m thinking but if it is another case of me getting hired for stealing for them, I m saying no...a straight no..."
Ster interrupted her right away as she strolled down the van in a furry rage. Ney rolled her eyes not understanding what was so bad about this.
"Just listen before you even say no..."
She shouted out and got back to business.
"Did I not tell you I would not be stealing for some fancy pants again??"
Ster intervened with her hands crossed in her chest as she looked at both the unknown man and Jeff who just smiled at her.
"You would not even have to work after you get this job done maybe..."
Jeff started with a smirk to which Ster just raised her eyebrows in confusion.
"What do you even mean, Jeff??"
"This is Blake Del Cardoso, Ster."
Jeff introduced the guy to Ster with his signature smirk as if she was supposed to know who the guy was but she did not.
"So??"
"Never heard of the Cardoso??"
Ster just shrugged in the oblivion of what was that supposed to mean.
"Look it's fine if you do not know who the Cardoso is which is hard to believe unless you are pretending but I need you...and I don't have time."
The mystery man stepped in himself.
"And what do you need me for??"
Alister questioned with a sass.
"To spy on my brother..."
