"Let's not waste any more time! Let's get the game train going!" Kana said as she started the second round!
"Hotaru, please group with the team. We almost lost the last game..." I said to Hotaru who is wearing the most blood-lusted face ever. What I said snapped her out of it.
"Oh, okay! I'll be sure to group with you guys!" she replied with a smile. Well, that was pretty easy! But why do I get the feeling that this isn't gonna go well...
As I predicted, it did not go as planned. We spawned, and Hotaru immediately charged. To prevent the last game, Haruka and I chase after her.
"Wait for us!" Haruka shouted as we fell further and further behind.
Sigh, do I really have to use my dashes? I quickly spammed my dash button to catch up to Hotaru.
"Hey! No fair!" Hotaru said as she tried to mimic my dashing movements, literally. And miraculously, it works... I don't know if it's for the better or she is just stupid.
Her actions gave her the right consequences, it seems. Because immediately after passing me, she bumped into Hotaka and fell off the stage.
I audibly sighed. "Just... just. Be. Quiet." Hotaru silently put down the controller.
"Hahahaha! Way to trash talk, you so-called good player!" Hotaka mocked the nearly sobbing Hotaru.
"Don't you dare do that to the child!" Haruka said as she attacked the distracted Hotaka.
"Ow! Hey, stop that!" He said as he got barraged with attacks from Haruka.
Amidst this, Kana was unlucky in finding a weapon and just gave up looking entirely. She ran towards the skirmish and attempted to interrupt the ongoing combo.
"Oh no, you don't!" I said as I caught her off guard. I hit her lower part of her leg so that she would be stunned and would fall to the ground. Though she was on the ground, she managed to dodge my follow up attack and rolled away.
Moving back to the furious Haruka and the vulnerable Hotaka, their fight is just about over. Hotaka finally broke out of the combo and quickly repositioned into a defensive state. Haruka quickly dashed towards Hotaka whilst he increases his guard.
"Take this! We're gonna take that room with the 90-inch TV! Oh boy! Korean Dramas here I come!" Haruka fantasized about winning before the game was even settled yet.
As Haruka was about to deal the finishing blow, Kana interrupted her and hit her with a heavy-hitting blow, ultimately leading to her death...
Sigh, I can throw this game and she'll look like an idiot. Wait! Throwing the game would mean I wouldn't be able to read those sweet, sweet, manga!
I quickly dash towards the duo and— wait, why would I run towards them? This was a stupid thing to do...

Before I knew it, I was already in front of them, but because I was spacing out, Kana managed to hit me first.
"What are you doing?! Stop spacing out in the middle of a battle!" Haruka shook me until I regained my consciousness.
I dodged the second attack Kana threw at me and dashed towards Hotaka.
"Wait, stop!" Hotaka ran as quickly as possible. He ran and jumped towards the upper platform, but I already knew that. I grabbed his foot and threw him off the stage. Due to his low health, he fell pretty fast and died so I could prepare for Kana's next attack.
"H-how?!" Hotaka was in disbelief.
"You see, when you play with a person long enough, you start to notice patterns in their playstyle." I said in a tone of a professional... Why did I sound like some sort of old man giving advice to children?
Anyways, no more spacing out in the middle of a battle! I ran towards Kana again but this time, I had my guard up.
I charged a heavy attack and threw it at Kana, just like the last game. She was easily able to dodge it, "Do you really think that'll work twice?" she said in a teasing tone.
I quickly jumped to the same height as Kana initially jumped and did a combo on her without any weapons. Let me tell you something real quick, unarmed has the fastest attack speed in the game, but don't tell them that! Hehehehe!
"Ow! How come your attack came first?! I was already in motion to hit you!" She said, but I ignored it.
After the combo, Kana went flying I went and grab a "conveniently" placed bomb and spear next to me. Looking at this pair of weapons made me think of a great idea...
I grabbed the two items and waited for Kana to get back onto the stage and slowly, I made my way towards her. *crack*, what's that sound? I looked down to see the source of the sound.
It was a "conveniently placed" stick on the floor...
...
"Found you!" Kana said she dashed towards me with a hammer in hand.
I ran towards her with a bomb in hand and a spear on the other. Kana, upon seeing this, immediately took the high ground to prevent the same thing happening from the last game.
Too bad, it'll go exactly like the last game. I jumped towards Kana, as she was about to hit me, I threw the bomb directly at her. The explosion blew both of us off the stage, Kana going at a faster velocity, of course. I, on the other hand, stabbed my spear onto the ground and prayed to God. The spear wasn't gripping hard enough on the stage, resulting in scratches and I quickly fell off the stage.
'Is this how I'm gonna lose?' I thought...

Surprisingly...
"Round Over! Red team wins!" the announcer said.
We had won the second round by a hair! Turns out Kana couldn't get back on top of the stage and fell just before I did!
As my teammates we're celebrating, Kana was furious as to how she lost, "That's unfair!" she said as she was rolling on the floor.
"Chill out, Kana. You guys played well." I said to comfort the pouting Kana.
"Well, it's obvious we're gonna win next round, it's a two versus one!" Hotaka said. Kana's eyes glimmered with hope, "Oh yeah! We agreed that they only had 2 lives each! Akari, you're the only one who's managed to keep both lives, so it's an automatic win for us!" Kana said as she took Hotaka in her embrace and hugged him.
Hotaka gave me a thumbs-up behind Kana's back. Sigh, I forgot I had to play cupid for these two...
